:) Hi Virginia I agree that being alone all the time is hard. I at times talk to myself. Using the phone is hard because I am hard of hearing.

I did not have any black eyed peas and hog jowls this year. I did not have any last year either and it did not seem to have any effect. I ate a turkey pot pie. Today I bought a pumpkin pie and had a piece after dinner.

I hope everyone's new year is off to a good start. Jeanie :)

All right Gary, if you keep this up, you'll get older!

Today was a busy day! I was up before 7am, and took trash to the dump, paid the rent, and went to the grocery store. Unloaded everything, then put the postage stamps I bought on some bills and such, and left again to mail those off.

A good sign is I was able to carry everything inside today. There have been times I've had to do what I call the "butt crawl". I keep the groceries in front of me, then scoot up to them, and move them a little farther, and do it again, over and over until it's all inside.

My sleep patterns have everything to do with it. Some nights, I just can't sleep, even after taking an OTC sleep med. But last night, I slept great. I wish I knew why it's not more consistent, but I'll take it as it comes.

                    Have a great evening all!

I sent Jeanie a PM about this but guess she hasn't seen it yet. So I'll post about it since people seem to be wondering why Gary isn't here as the birthday boy just now. It could be because his birthday is February 3, or at least that's what the calendar says here.

No harm done--a person can't have too many birthdays.

You mean I can blow out the candles now?

You can blow out the candles and have all those presents for Gary, I guess.

There's one thing wrong with this picture. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it isn't your birthday either, is it?

Had another call about my sister-in-law, who has pancreatic cancer. It was just last Sunday that they took her to the emergency room in such bad pain and she was admitted to the hospital. This week the Oncologist told the family that he would not do anything other than try to keep her comfortable and suggested a real nice hospice for her to go to. He said she was three quarters of the way through the process already. And to think that she had worked all week the week before! She has always been remarkable. One of her sisters said "You know we love you" and she responded with "I have never doubted it." Much of the time she is pretty much out of it due to the pain medication she is on, but when she does respond she does so with understanding of what is going on.

I have never seen anything as fast as this. Her sister said they were just glad they got her into a hospice and out of the hospital setting. I am too.

So, I was glad to hear something, but really expected to either hear that they had sent her home or had already started her on chemo. I am terribly sad. Her sister told her she was the backbone of the family and she said "Well, I am the oldest".

Another example of never knowing what tomorrow might bring. She was healthy.

When Gary comes back on he will be surprised to learn that he is a year older.

                              Everyone take care.

That Gary sure is lucky! TWO birthdays in one year! If he keeps that up, someday, he may be older than me! Oh wait, he get's presents TWICE in one year!!!

Hey everyone, today is MY birthday!!!!
