Wasn't she a regular on the Mary Tyler Moore or Dick Vandyke show?

Interesting twist to the thread: Clooney and spuds. :) Did you know that you can mash sweet potatoes, too? Either bake them, or cut them into small pieces and boil like "regular" potatoes. Mash, with milk, salt/pepper, butter.. Also yummy. And yes, you can use brown sugar on them...but they're SWEET. That's why they're called sweet potatoes. (Oh wait..I already said that.)

I think of George Clooney as eye candy. Fun to look at, but not a great actor. I can think of lots of others who deserve a lifetime achievement award before him.

Gosh, what an interesting thread. We go from movie stars, to potato tree's?? To football, yes Sally we stayed up til 12:06a.m. wand watched the game and I was happy Ohio won!! Now I will be yelling for the SeaHawk's Sun. I grew up with brothers, have 3 son's and 1 daughter. Daughter and I are the sports fans! lol

Now, I'm tired and need to get off here and rest, but before I do I want to know what you plant to grow a Potato TREE!! Back before I got older than dirt I played in the dirt and did some gardening. I planted potato's, but never grew a tree. Idaho potato is the best baking, when they start growing little eye like things in your veggie basket it's best to start baking Russet. They are good too, Agate.

Now about sweet potato's. Am I the only one here from the south? Why Scarlett O'hara kept her little family alive after she got back to Tara after the Yankee's burned Atlanta. The yanks didn't know what a sweet potato was. Scarlett dug them up and stored them in the root cellar.

Anyway, scoope out an orange, add to mixture of potato etc. fill orange with mixture, think I put a little coconut in the mix. This is a delish. dish especially around Christmas. I've been banished from the kitchen so I have forgotten a lot. That's ok, I still like to eat and Ken is a good cook.

I'll be waiting for the instructions on how to grow a potato tree. s

ps:, yes, marshmallos ruin a sweet potato IMHO

I don't watch sports on TV. But I will watch Drag Racing, but it's hardly ever on. Other auto racing I don't watch, like NASCAR. I played football in High School, and loved it, but don't care to watch it on TV.

Now cooking on TV......HUSH....my cooking show is coming on!

And of course, don't forget sweet potato FRIES which is the BEST way to eat them, IMO!!! And they don't even need to be fried, baked ones are just as good!

I'l watch any of the finals of most sports, except basketball, I can't say that it tickles my fancy whatsoever. But I can get into the Superbowl or World Series, etc. But I can really take it or leave it. And I just can't watch golf, to me that's like watching potato trees grow, just too slow.

I don't really even care for the Olympics, just the inspirational stories that are inevitably included, those are always sweet.

SuzE-Q, my dad was a golfer, a good one too. He used to watch every golf tournament on TV. But the rest of the family would find something else to do to get away from watching it.

So he would be in the family room, stretched out on the sofa, sleeping away.

No matter how good you are, I find watching golf as boring as watching grass grow. Apparently your dad did too!

It's the way they talk, getting real quiet when the players are getting ready to putt. They almost whisper, everyone gets real quiet, and about then, you hear dad....zzzz zzzz zzzz.....

Alright you guys, I am with you about golf, however I come from a family of golfers and before MS I did play some. I have to tell you, that if you ever get into it, it is a habit that is hard to break. I am away from it and don't enjoy watching it on TV anymore, but have to when I am at one brothers house. He has very large TV, but only realizes that one station exist - the golf channel. Other two brothers are almost as bad, and some of my nieces and sisters-in-law play as well.

I agree that George Clooney, in my opinion, does not deserve the award that he received, unless it is given for something other than acting. However, I do think he is very easy on the eyes.

Gary, how do you fix your Yukon gold potatoes? I have never seen any that are big enough to bake. I guess you just boil them and put butter, salt and pepper. I love potatoes - all kinds. I am glad they are good for you. Someone mentioned mashed sweet potatoes in a scooped out orange. I mash sweet potatoes and put some orange juice in with butter, etc.

Cherie, can't they reclassify your job and let it be a salaried one? Even if the work is up and down, maybe it could be hourly or something. They first told me I had to pay over $2,300 for the first shipment of Rebif this year, however it turned out that they worked it out for me. I have got to call and find out what is going to happen the rest of the year. They told me to call soon. Glad you are about off sleeping meds. Unfortunately, not true in my case. If I did not take something I don't think I would ever sleep again. Even with something I often only get about 4 hours.

Watching cooking shows just makes me more hungry, and then I start to think about how good it would be to eat all that food.

Virginia, I take an OTC sleep med. It's Benadryl now that it's not a classified med, and MOST of the time, it works very well. But only occasionally, it may as well be aspirin. Meds are a strange thing.

They sure are, Howie. What works well for one person does nothing for the next. They can't even decide if MS is only one disease or many. No surprise they're still haven't found a cure.
