Virginia, a little online info. It sounds like IF you get the shot, it's just one, an antibiotic. That's why your doctor was hesitant to offer it. They are hesitant because enough antibiotic use, makes it not to work for you.

I dont like the yellow gold potatoes. However I fix them, they taste waxy to me. And the purple potatoes just look weird!! Now ido like different colors of beets! I didnt know they came in multiple colors, and some are sweeter than others. (Im sure you are all fascinated by this...lol)

I tried baking a russet potato--my first, since I always baked only Idahos before, but as Cherie mentioned, they don't turn up in stores much any more. I was delighted with the way the russet turned out. The skin (the best part, IMO) came out very crisp but not tough. It was coated lightly with margarine before baking--while sitting on a bit of foil in the oven so I won't have to clean the grease off the oven rack. I never wrap a potato in foil. I don't like the way it turns out when done that way.

Some of the different colored vegetables still take me by surprise but I love yellow, orange, and red bell peppers. I'm not sure how different they taste compared to the green ones but to me they seem a bit sweeter to me.

This topic doesn't strike me as so very off-topic or unfascinating. We all have to eat....

Hi Cat...well, this is a bummer

But, Agate gave some real information that will restore some balance to your worries. Most really are benign.
I wish you all the best.

you all keep reassuring me that nodes on lungs are often benign. The stuff I have read says there is a 60% chance they are benign. That means there is a forty percent chance they are not. Id feel better if it were 700/30, or 80/20. Or not there at all. Its a long way to next friday when the ultrasound will be taken, and in to t h e next week before results will be released. Arrrrgh. Hiss.

Yes, red and yellow peppers are sweeter than the green. Around here for some weird reason they cost twice as much as the green ones. A shame, as they are really nice in salads and stirfries.

By the way, if you dont want to heat up the oven to just bake a russet, they also do well in the microwave. I usually coat them in butter, set in a shallow dish and zap on high for about 4 minutes per spud. Poke with a fork; if still too firm, then a bit longer. Skin is not as crisp, but still good. We often will have more meat than potatoes left over the next day, so I will zap everything in the micro and make the spuds this way.

              Hi Cherie,

Nope, it wasn't me that asked about your work.

It was me that asked if you've found anything to help with your sleep now that you're tapering off ativan, as I too am tapering off it, but am having a heckava time sleeping now.

As a farmer I can say that the yellow, red and other colored peppers are more expensive because they are harder to grow, more susceptible to disease, lower yielding and seed is much more expensive for these created varieties.
As an avid eater! I think the emphasis on making veggies sweeter and sweeter mak es us crave sweetness and not true flavor such as corn flavor or pepper flavor. It is a lot more complicated issue than you imagine.

And those of us trying to avoid Frankenfood (no GMO) foods and trying to grow organically are hammered from all sides. Control of the seed supply by a few big companies is another nail in this box.

                  Linda,

I thought yellow, red, etc bell peppers were made FROM green peppers, but they remained on the vine (or wherever) longer and as they ripened, their skin changed color? That's what made them more expensive, longer growing time so new crops are delayed.

                  Is this not correct?

I bought potatoes this month, and have been eating them almost daily. I only cook in the microwave. I like the idea of putting butter all over it before cooking it. I'll try that today.

Looks as if the size of the nodule matters. You mentioned just one nodule, and it looks as if that's good. And if it's been sitting there with no significant changes for 2 years or more, that's also good.

Sally, I've tried the Purple Potatoes, and they tasted about the same to me. But I loved the color!

The recent one of a couple of weeks ago? That was a fleeting twist only lasting about 3 days. No. Wrong leg.

It's on the leg of the ankle I badly sprained(?) and chipped, resulting a cast about 17 years ago. There's a bunch of tiny little veins showing there. It sometimes swells.

I understand it can happen whenever bacteria on skin can get in a crack/tear of the skin. Even from dry skin. I've had terribly dry skin the last year. I'm trying to be more diligent about keeping it moisturized.
