If Howie says it's Slug Day, then it must be. I didn't know there was a Slug Day but it's probably needed.
Slugging someone might be one way to celebrate. Or taking a slug to lunch. Or having a slug for lunch.

Virginia, that is such a shame about your nephew! Bait and switch?
I hope he comes out of this with at least a few extra dollars. It does seem like deceptive advertising, all right. Would a lawyer be of any help here?SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

Virginia, I read your post about the car to Lenny and he thinks it's legal but unethical.
He probably shouldn't waste money on a lawyer if he can get them to give him some instead. Scumbags.

Agate, the lawyer would then just take a lot of the money. I think overall he will PROBABLY come out a little better with his Agent. My brother, his Dad, has had pneumonia and has not been well for the past 3 weeks. Has been on antibiotics several times, gets better, then when the prescription runs out within a day or two is back sick. When I hugged him last night he felt really hot, like he had a fever. So he doesn't need to come into it.
Vicky, it might be legal, but it really is unethical because they waited to tell it until after everyone, not just my nephew, thought that the car that they had parked there to give away was the one my nephew was getting. Oh well!Last edited by Virginia; 08-13-2016, 05:35 PM.Virginia

Peg, you just settle down, it's "slug" like the one crawling across Agate's post, although that one looks pretty energetic. A slug is like a snail, you have to watch them for awhile to even tell they are moving! That's me today, and it looks like Jeanie is about the same way today.
And tomorrow is "the day of rest". Someone poke me with a stick tomorrow just to be sure I'm still among the living!

I just ate my meal at midnight. Actually a little after, which means I didn't eat yesterday.

Virginia, what a lousy thing for them to do. These days, intimations of bad publicity on social media often works to resolve these kinds of things. I'm sorry your brother still isn't feeling better either. Nice of you to spring for dinner, I sometimes don't tell them I'm paying until afterwards too, but it's so they don't order more expensive items, lol.
Cat, hope you feel better soon!
Howie, Jeanie, hope your sleepiness is just the increase in temps outside or because it was slug day! Peg, hope you managed well with your power outage, you are so resourceful, I'll bet you rode your indoor bike to generate your own electricity!

Notice the online weather forecast is NEVER wrong? It was originally forecast to be 91 today. It's now 93, and suddenly is forecast to be 93 today. Those folks never miss a beat. How do they do that?

Well if you're impressed by someone making a mistake and correcting it then maybe you'd be interested in a bridge of mine in Brooklyn...Originally posted by Howie View PostNotice the online weather forecast is NEVER wrong? Howie, it is a good price for Vicky!!!
Speaking of the weather - I have appointment to get hair colored and cut tomorrow afternoon at 3:00P.M. Heat index is to be between 105 and 110 degrees. If I had only been 3 weeks ago I might try to get out of it, but it has already been 4 weeks, and I can tell it. What makes it so much worse for me is that I do not have a garage and car is parked in the sun.Virginia

I second that, Virginia. There's a lot to be said for the natural look!
If you feel you have to do this, is there a way you could take an air-conditioned taxi to/from the place, which I'm assuming is also air-conditioned?
It would be costly but temperatures over 100' are extreme weather. People with MS have to respond to extreme weather conditions with extreme measures, like cancelling appointments or taking taxis.
Just my opinion.

I third that. I always found dying my hair to be a pain. When I stopped coloring it I found I finally had time to do other things I'd put off.Originally posted by agate View PostI second that, Virginia. There's a lot to be said for the natural look!
