The help I've asked for were things like referrals to disabilities attorneys, or places to purchase handicap accessible equipment, or contractors trained in accessible construction, and got no useful information whatever. It was extremely frustrating before the internet,, when such information was,non existent. Now at least I can search the net and generally find some answers.

I no longer suggest to anyone that they contact the MS society, nor do I suggest contributing to them. They talk big, collect a lot of bucks, may fund research, but aren't useful advocates in the lives of everyday people with MS.
I agree that they aren't usually much help, but I've had an impression that in the last few years they've been trying a bit harder to be helpful to people with MS who are having practical difficulties. Or maybe it's just that the Portland MS Society tries harder than some of the others. Anyway I thought it might be worth a try.

There are a couple of other organizations that might focus more on patient services--the MS Association of America and the MS Foundation--but their resources are limited. They too would be worth a try.

Nope, Howie, but I'm packing up this sleet and sending it right to you because it's close enough to snow, and that's what you've been hoping for.

Do you want the gusty winds too?

Jeanie, I have no advice. I am just sorry you are having to endure things like this over and over. Glad you have plenty of food and are comfortable for the week-end. I tend to agree with Cat on the MS Society. I have never asked them for anything other than the name of the Avonex rep in my area years ago. They did give me that. However, they do not furnish anything, in this area, that cost anything - or so I have heard. Oh, when I was first diagnosed they did furnish a bag lunch for those of us who went to a one day "Newly Diagnosed Seminar". There was an MS nurse who put it on - weather they paid her or not I don't know.

Agate, would you please send me just a little Winter. Not as much as you have had, but just a few days. Please???

Hi Sally, hope daughter is feeling better and shows up with a Super Bowl beer and something to go with it tomorrow.

Jeanie, this is just so frustrating. You're too far away for me to drive, or I think I would have to just go down there and help you out.

I wonder if your church can help you...

Mister Nosebleed here again, and this one even scared me a little, an' I ain't afeared of nuttin'.

I've never seen blood pour out like that. Thank goodness I can feel it just as it starts. I dropped one big glob on my bath mat, so it's going in the washer in a minute. I'm trying to just be quiet for awhile.

I moved to my bedroom, and leaned over the wastepaper basket, and pulled the paper towel away from it, and it poured in a steady stream. If left unchecked, you would bleed to death in no time.

But what a way to go, I can hear it now.....Well how did he die? A nosebleed.

I'm okay now, and the lose of blood should make this beer more potent. Ever heard that for like when you give blood? I'll let you know if it's true.

FINALLY, a movie I've seen before, not great, but fun. Later, and give blood, someone else may need it!

Thanks Agate, I saved that one. I take too much Ibuprofen, and that could have been the culprit on the other nosebleeds. This was the worst one tonight. I did get my bathmat in the washer. I had blood all over my hands and arms from holding paper towels to my nose and trying to apply pressure. I think I scared the cats. Probably thought the bloody psycho killer would get them next!

Geez Howie. If it's still an issue, doc can cauterize the source inside nose. My BIL has same problem especially in winter. He is on Coumadin, a blood thinner which makes me t harder to clot...He also uses a humidifier to counteract the drying from the indoor heat.

:) Good article Agate. Thank you for all the links you post. I am reluctant to go hunting for sites and like to be able to just open one of yours.
Howie next doctor visit have your doc look at your nose. Jeanie :)

I will inform my doc at the next visit, and sooner if it happens again.

I didn't get up until after 2 pm. It felt good. I love my new pain med. I gives me such long and detailed dreams. It's like having a second life where I actually do things.

                              Everyone have a great day!

Ok, I just had a sympathy(??) nosebleed?

                                Haven't had one in years!
