What happened to hurt all your critters???

Things are ok here. I still can't get in/ out of bed by myself, or transfer into any other chair, but I'm up and about all day, most days. Rehabbing yet another dolhouses (I now have 11) after 4 years of not being able to work on them. TC and I are celebrating our 49th anniversary today by going grocery shopping, and a stop at a farm store for kitty litter.... We're both alive; guess that's the best I can hope for...

Today is our anniversary...49 years. Hard to believe.
We are happily working all day....farmers are like that.

I just. Came in from watering greenhouse and found some beautiful roses. I made a John a rice pudding yesterday which he loves. It is already almost gone.

The pudding recipe I used was super simple...Mark Bittman. It is baked in the oven and has only rice, milk, a pinch of salt and a bit of sugar. 300° for 1/2 an hour, stir, go another 1/2 hour, stir and then go in 10 minute chunks until rice is swollen but pudding is still milky. When I took it out of the oven it was perfect consistency within 20 minutes. It was so good.

Happy anniversary to both of you! How funny you both have the same anniversary!

Bittman has some good and simple recipes. He has an easy salad dressing one. Take a half cup Evoo, add 3 TBS good champagne vinegar like Colvita, salt and pepper, about half tsp Dijon mustard. Whisk. Serve. The Dijon emulsified the oil and vinegar and keeps them mixed. Can add more if necessary.

Married people eat better, don't they? I don't even know how to pronounce some of these food ingredients, much less how to prepare them!

            Happy Anniversary to you guys!
That was some heck of a great day back in 1968.

We are the 49ers! DOes that mean we struck gold?

Not sure it's from being married. Maybe being female and loving to cook?

:) Peg sorry all your animals are hurt. You are right this year is flying by.

Congratulations Ann & Peter and Linda and John. Happy Anniversary!

I have had Jamie's Mother here for 3 days. I took her to return her FL tag and to get her phone changed over to three different phone stores. Her DIL gave her an old iPhone and she had to get on a different server to use it. They changed some of her stuff onto the new one. Andy and I took her to dinner last night.

I gave her a lot of nice clothes I no longer wear and she was happy to have them. She will mail the box back to Arizona. My van is not starting right. It seems like it is starved for gas, so I need to take it back to my mechanic and see if the fuel pump he put in is working right. Not today I am tired.

When I got home from taking her to her friends condo to stay a few days, the power was off and it was over 80 in here. I laid down on the bed until it came back on. Tonight I am going to bed early. It was over 95 today and humid. Jeanie :)

                              jeanie,
I had a scare like that with my sister. I was not sure so I called her daughter who called her son who called the police. The police knew where to find a key so they went to check on her.
All was ok. But I was very worried. I hope all is well for your uncle.
