Agate, two great minds working the same channel. When I read Rose's post I immediately thought of Howie and his thong. However, Vicky does have a point.
Rose I had gone into their web site just checking this out after I read your first post. Sounds interesting. I cannot stand a breeze on my skin anymore at all. The slightest breeze just makes my skin feel like it is crawling. I can't use my ceiling fan in my living room even though it is up high. I try to use it on low, but it still creates a draft which I can't take. I use to enjoy it. I probably would only use it if my A/C went out.
Poor Howie's been asleep all day, and gets up to everyone bashing Howie the cabana boy and his thongs, and Rose of all people started it! I am shocked! I think I'LL just cry for a little while, and then go back to bed.....sniff.....

We've made Howie cry. We should really be ashamed of ourselves.
Is crying good for the soul?
(No, Seven and Sam. I didn't ask if crying was good for the sole. You two have fish on your minds. You're just in this for the halibut.)
Virginia, it's too bad you can't use the ceiling fan. Some ceiling fans have variable speed settings, or you can convert your ceiling fan to a variable speed setting so you could turn it on low, but maybe even that would be too drafty?
I run the AC all day, but it reads the temp, and when it's warmed 2 degrees, it turns on again. It doesn't run long, maybe a minute. I also have a fan sitting just to the right of me. Between the two, I never get hot except when I go to the kitchen, but I try to make that as short as possible.
And what luck this morning. I was prepared to go without coffee until payday. I went to the kitchen, and in the cabinet where I keep silverware, and dishes and glasses, here is a big container the coffee comes in.
I save then to put nut and bolts and car stuff in, but I picked it up, very lightweight like it was empty, but gave it a shake to be sure, and the sound of COFFEE.
I opened it up, and there's enough to make a mug today and tomorrow. That just makes my day!
I'm having a mug now. And I have my creamer I always have, but it's the powdered kind which is fine with me.
Now you just try to have a better day than I am...I dare you!
Being without coffee must feel like the way I feel when I find I have no more bottles of Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke--the world is bleak, colorless, a yawning empty space. Glad you found some coffee, Howie.
Jeanie, is Lacy OK now?
I thought it was going to be only in the low 80s yesterday. That's what the forecast said. So I went sailing out at about 7 PM for a stroll around the parking lot, just to add a few steps to my total. It's not much of a walk but it was more than enough for me. I couldn't wait to get back inside.
Then I looked at the weather update and found out that the day's high was 91'. That's what it felt like out there. Today at least it seems cooler--so far.
:) Hi everyone. I just got up. Tomorrow I have to be at the mechanics at 8 AM. Ugh!
Agate Lacy is still shaking and we are supposed to have intermittent showers for about a week. Maybe the rainy season is starting, we need rain. They lowered Lake Okeechobee before to 11 feet. It is supposed to be about 15. Now boats are hitting things in the lake. The dyke around it needs bolstering and they lowered it because of the start of hurricane season.
I think the people they have at the South Florida Water Management now are not very wide. My ex worked there over 30 years and they had good people then.
Yesterday Lacy crawled behind my computer desk to hide and unplugged a wire to the outside cameras. Luckily Jim was here and able to reconnect it. So far no rain today. Jeanie :)
Jeanie, you are in between two rocks, you need rain so you want it, Lacy doesn't like rain so you don't want it. Maybe you will soon have all you need and it will let up.
Agate, my ceiling fan has multiple settings and also a remote. I can sit in my chair and hit the remote, but I have not been able to do that in a number of years due to the creepy crawly feelings I have on my skin.
Howie, so glad you got some coffee for a couple of days so you can put off the withdrawal as long as possible. Think the neighbors would loan you a little coffee for the rest of the month?
Howie, check the change jar. That should buy something good.
I'm sure I have enough money, I have $50 in my billfold, but no car to get there. I've done that a hundred times, think about going to the store until it dawns on me, I don't have a car.
They could call today, for sure by tomorrow, then I have to call my sister for a ride.
I wouldn't ask my neighbors for coffee, much less a ride somewhere. But I will get the car soon, and the store will be my first trip, and coffee at the top of my list.

Howie get your snacks and whatever you have to drink!!! Everyone else get ready on the east coast - the show is about to begin!!! No sleepy heads this morning.
Well, I have some sad news. Seven my big sweet girl, just passed away. She was the best cat I have ever owned, and the longest lived. She was 16. She was just lying across the entrance to this room, and I thought she was asleep.
I have her in a pillow case, and will give her to my sister to bury on her farm when I see her. Now it just Sam, and me.
