I contacted Howie's sister. She says he's been having computer problems since Monday and that may be the reason he hasn't been here. She'll be seeing him later today.

I'm fine everyone, just taking a bit of a break. I went to the doctor earlier, just the 6 month checkup, and don't go again until next year. Thank you Agate for checking on me, I really appreciate it."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Well hallelujah.
It's just not like you to disappear. People have been losing sleep, worrying that Sam did something like waving a magic wand and sending you onto some pink cloud somewhere.
Oh, I see you already have a pink cloud. You mention it in your Profile.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

:) I just got home from getting my van. They installed the new gas tank and fuel pump which required the ramp to be removed and put back on. I put it on my Visa. Andy picked me up and took me back to get it. I put it on Visa. It is so nice to have it start immediately when I turn the key.
Glad Howie is ok. Having been through many hurricanes I really feel for those people in Texas. One year a tree came through our living room roof. In Frances and Jeanne we had no electric for 11 and 13 days. With the windows boarded up it was hot. I feel lucky we never lost our whole home. I am praying for all those in Texas. Jeanie :)

Howie, so glad to hear you are alright. You scared us all! You know how we women are.
Jeanie, just glad the van is fixed. I really hope it stays fixed this time for a very, very long time.
I think everyone feels for the people of Texas and we are all just so glad not to be in their shoes. It must be an awful feeling and while I am glad they have the shelters that they do - it is not exactly home.Virginia

I saw a big cat rescue going on today. If it was me, Sam would be in my arms, but I guess some folks had to get out of there, and couldn't find the cat before they had to get a rescue boat.
Also on the news, these guys had about 8 cats in a cage, and carrying them to a rescue boat. They were all wet and a bit scared, but I hope they can be reunited with their owners soon.
That would be a real nightmare.Last edited by Howie; 08-31-2017, 06:04 PM."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Howie you don't mean "big cat rescue" as in large cats, do you? I can't imagine the anguish of those pet owners down there having to leave their pets behind, it must feel like Sophie's Choice. So grateful to all the heroes/heroines that are helping out. Just watching the news about what may have been lurking in the waters so many were forced to wade through, I hope there aren't long term health consequences.
So, did you have to pay a spend down at the doctor's visit, Howie? Is his new office easy to find for you next time? Any apologies from the staff or him for not letting you know before your last appointment?
Jeanie, really happy to hear of your van being fixed and working well! Has your son started paying you back so you can clear this debt from your credit card?
ANN, sounds like you had a wonderful holiday!

Probably cat victims of the hurricane?
I notice that the SPCA and the Humane Society are among the charities mentioned in this article on ways to help the hurricane victims:

Hmm. There's no icon showing a deleted post when you look at the forum's front page but a post must have just been deleted. There was an advertising post that showed up (posted by a MadMax003 or some such name). I reported it.
Now it looks as if Howie is calling me a troll and telling me to move on. Gee, maybe he is.
I'm sure that the icon showing a deleted post will come along later.
I was never aware of that icon until yesterday when Sunshine asked about those icons. Thanks, Sunshine!SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.
