Wonderful week-end Agate. Glad you had fun and people in. It is amazing what we can get done in the house when we think people are coming to see us. I am sure it was a treat to see your daughter's friend after all these years.

Howie, glad you are staying in, mostly, out of the heat. However, the least Sam could do is stay in the room with you. You probably keep it so cold in there that she can't.

I can't remember if I did anything Saturday, but yesterday I met two brothers and both wives for dinner. We went somewhere I had not been before. The name of the place is "Bad Daddy's". It was different and I kind of like it. I had a hamburger, because they specialize in hamburgers and salads though they do have other things. After I left them I went to a grocery store called "Sprouts". I had not been there, but had planned on going for awhile. I didn't think too much of it, so only bought one lemon.

On Friday the Upholstery place told me they would e-mail me some pictures of my furniture that they had completed and that they would have the furniture out to me today. I have not heard one word. I am getting very anxious. I do hope nothing has happened to all my furniture. I could not replace most of it. If they had not been so adamant about the fact that they were going to get it back so quick, I would not now be worrying about it.

Anyone have easy suggestions for flight and overseas health care coverage? Queenie and are supposed to meet in London very soon if my body doesn't crap out. The more my plans get blown the more I am determined to live it up.

It sounds like everyone on the board is digging this summer indoors. Anyone want kale?
I planted it as a cooking experiment and it is not medically adviseable for me to eat right now..
Only the 20-30 somethings will eat it.
Everyone older is wary.

I use to eat kale, but always put ketchup on it. Brown beans, kale and cornbread was a meal. I'm up early because I'm headed to the store as soon as it opens. I am completely out of coffee, and without it, my heart would probably stop beating!

I thought Renee WAS the Queen, or at least that's what she's been telling me. No more foot rubs for her.

This getting up early like I did today has it's drawbacks. It feels like it's 5pm to me. And I'm very sleepy now, but trying a nap failed. Nothing is normal today, except Agate maybe. She is the rock that holds us all together.

I still eat kale if I have any. I don't know why old people do not eat it. Fixed right it is good.

RENEE was wrong - my furniture was not alright. At least not all of it. The couch, the wing back chair and ottoman seem to be alright, but the material was put on wrong side out on all the dinning room chairs. They had to go back. They are telling me they can "turn it" and it will be alright. Anyone know enough about upholstering that you can tell me if that is true or not.

Still trying to decide if I like white couch or not. I still have not got it all put together. I am spraying it with fabric protector and I am doing a few pieces at the time in order to try and keep the fumes to a minimum. There are 3 pillows to sit on, 3 at the back and the couch came with 4 throw pillows, so there are quite a few pieces.

Some people don't eat kale because of the vitamin A in dark leafy greens interfering w their blood-thinners, like Coumadin.

I know nothing about upholstering but I'm guessing that it can be reversed if a mistake was made. Sounds like a mistake that shouldn't have happened, though.

They should be able to turn the fabric over....but how could they possibly have gotten it wrong??! I don't think I'd use that place again. A white couch??? It never would happen in TusHIS house! Between the cats and their incessant shedding, and my husband's propensity to flop on the couch, shoes on, for a nap, it wouldn't last being white for a week! :) I have a multi-colored couch, browns, tans, a print with blue running through it. One of the cats is perfectly camouflaged when he sits on it. :) But it hides the fur and dirt well. I've had it cleaned occasionally -- it is basically a set of three cushions that you sit on, 3 for the back, and three smaller "throw pillows". I've always had cats. Once when I got new carpeting for a house (which we no longer owned), I actually went to the carpet store to look at carpeting, and when the salesman approached, asking me if he could help, I absentmindedly told him, "well, yes, thanks, we're looking for a carpet that is about the shade of cat vomit... "

Funny Cat - cat vomit!

I decided to get the white couch because that is not where I sit and no one else lives here and I cannot have fur animals anymore. So I decided that I would just have a white couch in my old age. I had a white wing back chair and ottoman and now it is a mixed up blue and a little rust color in it. That looks nice. The wrong side out should not have happened. The right side is beige and ivory with a little sheen, and the wrong side is white, but an ugly white. The main thing I am concerned about them being able to correct is the little cording or whatever you call it that goes all around the seats of the chairs and the backs of the chairs. Don't know how they are going to handle that.

We'll see!
