I try to keep this post near the top because....that's what I do. I'm just anxiously waiting on payday. I've been almost broke the whole month because the electric bill was high again, and my property taxes came due.
But I made a big pot of pasta, and several of coleslaw, my usual food every month. Worst of all, I had beer the first week, and none since. Can't afford it this month.
But this month is almost over, and it all starts over again, but without all the bills. Have a good rest of the month.

Alas, Howie, it looks as if there won't be money until the 3rd this time. But that's only a few days away.
I've been watching Season I of "Victoria" and really liked it so far. I'm also watching Season 3 of "Veep" which wouldn't be everybody's cup of tea but I like Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
In this nicer weather there can be more prowling around outside, and today I was out on the patio, refreshing the dirt in several pots out there where perennials are coming up, bless their hearts. While I was out there I decided to clean out the gutter drain or whatever it's called, a little container at the bottom of the downspout that collects whatever comes down the gutter and downspout.
It has a metal grill covering it to keep the leaves and twigs, etc., on top, and it gets clogged with pine needles. I cleared those away--and found several quite rusty nails also clogging the grill. It took some effort but I got all of the nails out.
They must be from the roofing job, and they are probably the reason why every time it's rained lately, I hear a very loud pinging that can be annoying.
It isn't a bad day if you've solved a pinging problem, I figure.

Yikes, Jeanie, I'd have been afraid the ripped cord was a live wire and been afraid to touch it!
Glad your son came to replace it. I can see how easy it would be to forget something like that.
I love that with so many drive thrus, we can wear our pjs out to get basic stuff done and no one is the wiser!

Good morning all. My electricity went out this morning, so I just got back in bed with Sam. We are so dependent on something we give little thought to...until we lose it.
I've been having trouble with my eyes. It comes and goes, and I think it pulls one eye out of looking where it should. At the same time it does this, I can hear a muscle in my ear cramping. I can't feel it, but can hear it.
Is there anything MS does that's easy to describe?
Sunny, but cold out, but I have no place to go until Tuesday....PAYDAY!!!
Have a great day everyone!

I'd like to think I was exercising but the pedometer doesn't rack up many steps for all too many days.Originally posted by Virginia View PostAgate, you are a busy little bee! Just doing things all the time. This counts toward your exercise.
If the study I'm going to be in OKs me, I'll have the use of a watch that has pedometer readings on it, and I'll be more inclined to believe those pedometer readings than my own pedometer. That may inspire me to walk the halls more often. Now that the weather is warmer, the stairwells won't be so cold, and I'll have no excuse.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Can someone answer this question? I just watched a show about law enforcement in Alaska. They went into a native village to arrest a guy for having alcohol. Is that a law in America that Native American's can't drink, or have alcohol in the lower 48? I hope not."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Many small Alaskan towns, all of them native American, I think, have a "local option" enabling them to ban possession of alcohol.
--from Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register...In 1986, thelegislature added another local option alternative to Title 4 – the option for communities to banthe possession of alcoholic beverages. The basic local control options have remainedessentially the same since then, with some additional changes to Title 4 that improve the abilityto enforce local option laws.Since 1981, over 100 communities in rural Alaska have held at least one local option election.Nearly 70 percent of the elections resulted in restrictions placed on alcohol.SPMS diagnosed 1980. That must have been a "dry" village. This guy was young, and his punishment was to fly back to where the law men were from, spend the night in jail, then be flown back to his village. What a job!
Thanks Agate!

Was he drunk? He may have been drunk and disorderly, or committed some other offense, and they went into the village to arrest him.Originally posted by Howie View PostCan someone answer this question? Native Americans (and some south Pacific island populations) have a gene that can be a contributing factor towards alcoholism in those populations. It's a big problem. As little as one beer can cause a person to be an alcoholic. We are friends with several native Americans here in Wisconsin, four different families, and each has at least someone in their immediate family who has trouble with alcohol.
