nuthatch (Joan), those are beautiful pieces of jewelry! I'm sure your granddaughter will appreciate having those bracelets soon enough. I recall wearing bracelets at an early age, and I just loved them.

SuzE-Q, I had no idea that the moderators are able to edit our posts here without letting us know in advance.

On the message board I used to have, as the administrator or even as a moderator I had the power to alter any post but I assumed that it would be courteous to the members to consult with them first, and my impression is that most message boards are run in that way. Just because moderators can do something doesn't mean that they will be doing those things. I wonder if that's what Mike Weins meant in the quotation in your signature area. I don't recall ever having had a post of mine changed here without my knowledge.

The MRI showed "atrophy and small vessel ischemia". They called today to schedule neuro-psych testing for 6 weeks from now. His doc does not want to talk till that has been done. Memory seems better but he is really putting effort into remembering.

It sure is quiet in here today! About all I've done today is run to the dump, bank, and store, mostly for beer, then home. My pasta this time is made from ground beef instead of ground turkey, and it is delicious. Plus there were two huge rolls of the beef, and it made this pasta dish so meaty.

After making me a plate, I left so much beef on the plate for Sam to eat herself into a long nap. That rascal didn't even do the dishes. That ingrate.

I've known cats to do the dishes, in a way. I can't imagine why Sam isn't stepping up to the plate, so to speak.

A cat of mine loved ice cream, and whenever I ate a bowl of it, she got to clean the bowl. She did a really excellent job. Not something she got to do with other people around though because it might be upsetting to those who are squeamish about cats licking the dishes.

Howie, news you can use: we Spring forward on this Sunday at 2 AM.

Our sweet kittens come home on Saturday morning. Agate, I got the scratching pad. A double, a little one for the kittens and a regular for Lily.

Agate, all my cats have been ice cream eaters. But Seven was the Queen of ice cream eaters. She could almost keep up with me. I always have ice cream here, but don't eat as much these days.

Ann, you will soon be the cat lady. They will have you trained in no time!

ANN, I don't think I ever tried a scratching pad. It was always a scratching post. Guess I had the idea that cats wanted something vaguely like a tree to sharpen their claws on since they always seemed to go first for the vertical parts of furniture. I'd like to know how the scratching pad goes over.

I'm not looking forward to losing an hour. It means racing through the day and trying to catch up.

The time change won't really make much REAL difference to me. I go to bed when I'm tired, and wake up when I've had enough sleep. But I like for my clocks to be accurate. "It's a blessing, it's a curse".

This is the one I got, Agate. The little one slides out and it's for the kittens. Lily is already loving and scratching on the big one.

ANN, I didn't hear about the follow-up to your kitten saga. Are these two the same two you looked at, or a different pair? Either way, I'm sure you'll be a wonderful Cat Momma to them!

Mine don't like the scratching pad, but love their cat tree..which has been around for more than 30 years, and into it's third generation of cats. It goes all the way to the ceiling, has three shelves coming out in different directions and heights, and gives them 3 views out the window. Chasing each other up and down the pole seems to be their favorite activity!

Mine all love ice cream. One of my cats, Patch, would jump in my husbands lap, and they'd "share" an ice cream cone...Patch eating one side, TC the other.... Patch usually ate more than TC ! :)

Eating ice cream is one thing that sandpaper tongue really comes in handy for!
