I feel like I have missed a lot reading through the past several days worth of posts. Virginia! Yikes! Have you seen the doc? (I still have the contact info you gave me a year or two ago in the event you stopped posting).

Question: Does everybody who is a regular here have a "person? Someone who knows how to reach you if you are not posting? Someone who has your emergency contact info if needed? I know Agate and Jeanie and Howie all have my email but David can be reached at dave@rihomesearch.com .

Dave is scheduled for neuro-psych testing at the end of April (first available appointment). This evening he is talking about retirement. He has had no income, listings or new buyers in 4 months now. This is almost a 40 year record for him. He is getting concerned but my observations show him compensating and being more aware of his actions and words than he has been in months and sharper mentally as a result.

My oldest brother and his significant other are coming for a visit tomorrow for a few days. He has not been here in at least 15-20 years and I last saw him just after Mom died 2.5 years ago. I am psyched. He is the epitome of an old hippie but is the softest and sweetest soul anyone could want to be with.

It has been a busy and productive day. 3 loads of laundry done, folded and put away. Two beds changed. Two guest rooms made up. French Meat pie and Cherry pie put together to bake tomorrow. PowerPoint nearly done for Chicago area in 2 weeks. I went to get a haircut today and my stylist was clearly in misery with a neck injury. She did not get to the point I like with my hair but I called a halt, changed positions with her and worked on her neck and shoulders for a little over a half hour. She said she felt so much better and refused to let me pay her for the haircut.

Good day but bitingly cold and uncomfortable outside. I hear we are due for another winter storm early next week.

Cherie, I have e-mails and/or phone numbers for several people here: you, Virginia, stillstANNding, nuthatch, Peg, Catdancer, Howie, Jeanie and (I think) SuzE-Q though the last time I tried SuzE-Q's e-mail, I ran into a problem with it.

If anyone else wants to provide me with an e-mail address, please just send me a PM. I hesitate to check on people unless they're regular posters though. Some don't appreciate it at all and prefer not to be tracked down.

If you don't make yourself "invisible" here (in your Profile options), others can see when you last logged in even if you didn't post.

renee and others check in now and then but might be absent for months at a time. I'm not sure whether they want to hear from someone here at BT or not. I tend to assume they'll come back when they're so inclined but maybe more outreach is needed--?

soul, I just noticed that your photo is in your Profile. It's nice to have an image to go with the user name! I do wonder what it is you're holding in the photo. My eyesight isn't the best, and maybe everyone else knows what it is.

You are funny, Nuthatch, and you might be right. My guess is that it's buds. ;-)

It took Cassie Cat nearly 6 MONTHS to get near my husband, and a couple of YEARS before she would allow him to pick her up. He could pet her if she was sitting somewhere, or on the floor next to him, but she'd run and fight him if he tried to pick her up. Now they're "best buds" -- if he sits on the couch she's right next to him. Or in his favorite chair. Having him feed her...or let him give her treats...will hasten the process....

Thanks Cat! Our Giselle may be called Cassie after the shelter worker that we liked and who cried when she had to hand her over. She, Cassie, is great. When I walk into the room, she jumps to the chest of drawers top and says, Pick me up, love me, pet me.

Tux, who Peter may now call Jack, will lie on the bed on my ankles. :-). And he got as far up as my hand while I was reading on their bed and licked it!

I downloaded two games for cats onto my phone. Jack learned Cat Fishing and nabbed five fish. Things are getting better.

I really do learn so much on here. I never knew Cats play games on a smart phone. I think Howie should get Sam some games and put them on his computer. Howie, it would keep her mind sharp and just look what it might do for you.

Agate, your post regarding how many Doctors you have been through (PCPs) reminds me of myself. I am beginning to get a complex. I get a good one and they leave or retire or whatever, and I think "I couldn't have been that bad".

I went to drugstore today and Harris Teeter grocery shopping and then Whole Foods to finish up. I came home and it took 3 trips to get everything in and then I had to put everything away. I had planned to make homemade mayonnaise tonight, but was just too tired. I bought a rotisserie chicken at Whole Foods. Theirs are the best and I had that tonight along with some grilled vegetables I got off the hot bar. Now, Monday I want to make chicken salad to have a couple of days.

Someone told me in the drugstore that it was supposed to snow here again Wednesday. I am not sure I believe that, but I haven't looked at a forecast. It was somewhere around 70 degrees today I think. I have an eye appointment Thursday, so it better be gone by then.

Virginia, if Sam got any smarter, I would have to move out.

Oops, just glanced at the weather forecast. What they said in drugstore might be right about snow Wednesday. It is forecast to be a high of 39 degrees, and yes today was 70.

Yeah, I just looked at the weather, and they are calling for the same thing here. We'll see!

Howie and Virginia, believe it only when you see it. Some of these weather people just seem to like drama.

The weather people are just talking heads most of the time. But when there is a chance of snow, they are suddenly "important" and people hang on their every word. But once the snow threat passes, it's back to being talking heads on the TV.

Our dear departed Molly Cat was an interesting creature: She was afraid of anyone but us. As soon as anyone else came to or in the house, she would hide until they were gone. We would go away on weekends and have a friend come to feed her -- who never saw her. He knew she was around because the food dish would be depleted and the litter box used...but he'd never see or hear her. We moved with her to a different house. There she spent 3 months in a kitchen cabinet, coming out only at night when we were asleep (we'd hear her from the bedroom, scratching in the litter box in the hall). We'd open the cupboard door in the morning, greet her, and go about our business. Finally she got brave enough to come out...and then found another place to hide whenever anyone else showed up! She was a dear cat, though, very loving, very gentle....just afraid of people!

I used to have cats and they were afraid of my mother. She was a dog person and had no idea how to treat them. They would run and hide whenever she came over,

I had a neighbor that used to drop by here, and Sam hated him. Seven would greet him and let him rub her, but Sam would just hiss, and go hide. Cats!
