Today I swam 25 Yards short of half mile, 27 minutes. I stopped and didn’t go the extra two minutes due to stiffening, and had errands to run, so couldn’t risk not being able to drive.
Today I swam a half mile in 27 minutes, no problems afterwards. Could feel some stiffening in a hip muscle, but nothing else, so I kept swimming another 5 minutes.
today I swam 1/2 mile plus 53 Yards. 30.5 minutes. It felt good, no spasms. IVIG yesterday helped. I was able to stand and chat at the produce stand today for a good 2 minutes after the swim.
Today I swam 1/2 mile plus 80 Yards, 30.5 minutes. I have consistently reached half mile now this week, very satisfying.and ran three errands after that.
Tomorrow we will surf, despite almost flat conditions.
I went surfing today! It was a bit chilly out there...felt like October! We arrived to the sound and sight of Thunder and left from a bright and sunny sky. The water was steel great, but translucent turquoise when the sun came out. You don’t wa t to know if we surfed with distant lightning. Only another surfer would understand...!
Waves were knee to thigh high and fun. On one wave, it was nearly the old me. I got to my feet fast, and I was able to flex my knees to move up and down as the wave was bumpy, and shift my weight forward and backward. It felt good and felt right! At the end of the ride, I flopped backward, and couldn’t get up to my feet. But I didn’t panic, as I usually do. I just relaxed in the shallows, and eventually was able to rise.
At least it wasn’t a spasm, just felt like it wouldn’t work. Couldn’t get to my feet.
We had wonderful knee to waist high waves with some energy in them! I felt stronger than I have felt since this SPS began over a year ago. I was able to last longer in between sitting in the chair. And, I got more waves. I was able to paddle out further where they were breaking without feeling anxious about being stranded out there.
