I'm glad Tyrel is doing well.

It has been such a nice fall hasn't it. I got out and went walking several times while I was at my parents. I have to sit every now and then to deal with the leg issue but it was nice to get outside. Hope you have a good weekend

Tyrel is doing well but sore and tired, of course that doesn't hurt anyone to work too hard [unless you have our chronic diseases]. It sounds like you had a good trip and also you got some things straightened out that you were thinking of. I am glad you were able to get out while there.

Today was a pretty good day as I mowed the yard and recovered from my sleep day by watching college football games and doing some chores. I hope today turns out even better.

I know Karen is off for a while as she gets herself settled in. It looks like this might be the end of the PP room unless others come in. It has been a long run thread that I thought would keep going on as others started coming in but it has been slowing way down and I may be the last one here. If it turns out that way I will turn the lights off when I go but I am not ready to close up yet.

Don't turn the lights out just yet. I'm harder to get rid of than that. Lord knows moving back in with my parents I will have plenty of stuff to complain about. LOL
They have dsl,but I have to get a network set up to use my laptop. The desk they have set up I can sit at like 10 min tops,,,and my father I really do not know what that man does a to computer but it takes that long to go to one page. He will not let you fix it though so oh well.
I'm back at the house this weekend helping out since the sitter did not show, it is odd but ok. I must get a new nicname on here, I guess I have to make a new acct.
          Hope your doing well Mark.
BTW...... would you shut that freezer door up there it is COLD! It is is 38 this morning!

Karen it is good to see you back on line and to hear you got moved into your parents house ok. I know it will be a big adjustment for you so vent away so you don't take it out o them. We got a phone call from Tyrel and he sounded really good. You can tell he is happy with his choice in life and enjoying the training. He admits he has some times that aren't much fun but it is like anything else in life as you have ups and downs. The kids got a rescue Golden Retriever for the girls and it is a very calm relaxed dog. It seems to be a great choice for young children.

Oh no, please don't turn the lights out! I've been adding a little at a time in getting back to BT. It's been a bad year, but thank God no family died or no one really sick except for the things that attack those of us that are old. It happens, but I will not give up!!

Karen I'm glad you got out. You are a wonderful lady, but I could see you wrecking your own health daily! I know you did not do this before giving it much thought. IMHO you made the right decision. Mark, I've got to come and get you to enlighten me on your precious family. You have a new granddaughter and I don't know her name yet. I want to remendy that.

My latest is a great-grandaughter. She is the light of memaw and pappys life. We'll compare notes, eh?

Will come back and stay a little longer next time. The time factor is my bigest drawback as to how long I can sit at a time. Hard for me because I have always gone full blast and not being able to go is doing a # on me.

I am thankful though, many are worse off than me.

I love you 2 very much and I have missed talking with you. I'll be back------soon

              Bunches of hugs, julia

Jo. it is great to come here and see you posting. My oldest granddaughter is Emery and she is a 2.5 yr old and the new one is Audyn at 8 weeks old. They are such cute girls and such sweeties to have around. Emery was grandpa's girl for a while but is now starting to do more of her own thing. The other addition is the kitten my wife got that has adopted me as his buddy. I understand limited time to post as I deal with it too. I will write more later and hope some of the old members come back to keep up with each other.

It has been a good weekend for our weather as it has been mild with sunshine. I haven't been out much since my days and nights have flipped lately. The kitty has kept me company as he is laying on me or playing around most of the time. My wife and I babysit the grandgirls Saturday and it was nice despite my wife not feeling too good. She turned it up for the three hours though and had a good time especially with the new infant. Emery and I played with the new dog, a golden retriever, and watched a chipmunk movie that she likes. It is always a joy to be with them as both are easy to take care of and in a good mood for us. My daughter said Emery wasn't in a good mood but she laughed a lot while we were there. Penny got her to act like she was cooking with the orange peels in a bowl so I got her a spoon and Emery thought that was the coolest thing to do. Not much more going on as I slept during the day and Penny was trying to get over her illness. I hope others are doing well and will stop in soon.

It has been a slow week without much going on. My TV went out but I was able to get on delivered within two day. We did get our River Birch tree delivered [an anniversary present to my wife] and I got it planted the next day. Penny went around saying how much she loves the tree and I have to admit it really up grades our side yard. We have worked hard the past 7 years on the front yard and people know our house based on the landscaping in front. I am now working on the side yard as I built a berm, laid sod over the sidewalk so the side yard isn't split up now and the Birch is the first step with plantings. The past two years we have worked on the perimeter putting in crepe myrtle bush, 3 fire bushes, and two rose bushes. Now the tree starts work on the interior which will be in earnest come spring. I would like to get a fire pit and sitting area so we can roast marshmellows with the granddaughters. I hope to see some visitors in the room this week and find out how you are doing.

Back In The Land of Living With A New Name :)

                      Hiya Mark & Jo!

How are yall doing? ( Karen aka Mrs.Q if you haven't guess by now )

I do not care how wrong this may sound, blame in on a midlife crisis or whatever but I am HAPPY! Once I got out of being in it everyday & started letting friends back in my life I realized just how utterly controlling the situation was. If I stayed in the mindset that I deserved nothing more out of life because I was disabled then I did not question how I was treated, so one of his fav. put downs was about my scolisis.

I feel like I have been sitting the grave waiting for someone to cover me up for years & now I have got up and walked out. I'm always going to be in pain that is my life but it does not mean I have to not even try to have a life. I'm just going to let myself free fall for a bit to fig out what I want to do. I have put in for some jobs but the big ten years of being a caregiver sorta kills that hope. I may end up having to go back to school in order to get a job I can do with my disability but there has to be something out there I could do.

I have been so lucky to find myself backed by such good friends & I want to thank you guys for always being around with support and advice over the last few years.

I should be around more now that I have the computer up and running ( the connectin is awful up here though ). Hope you all have a good weekend.
                      Karen

Karen it is so good to see you and hear such good news from you. It isn't an easy step you took but a necessary one for some of us and it is so good to find out you are doing so much better. I hope you are able to find the job you want even if you need to go back to school. Enjoy those friends as they helps us get through the days.

Not much happening her as Penny has been ill and I am in my sleep mode again. There just isn't much I can do late at night when I am awake and I am sleeping in the days so that is out. The kitten is still a good addition for both of us. Right now Samme is squeezed in between my hip and the chair arm all scrunched up but sleeping peacefully.

Happy Thanksgiving fellow spinies. I hope you are able to get together with your family and friends to enjoy their company and your blessings. We will be getting together and my mom will get to see her newest great granddaughter for the first time but we will be missing our son Tyrel as he is completing training in Army boot camp. He will be remembered though as Emery reminds us he is at the Army House. Please take this holiday to count your blessings and enjoy the company of people you love and that love you.

Mark I hope Penny is feeling better & you guys had a nice Thanksgiving. I know you missed Tyrel, but I'm so glad your Mom got spend time with Audyn.
It was a quiet Thanksgiving around here.
Knock on wood I have been sleeping better than I have in years and my back is doing ok. I'm thinking about getting some sort of back support brace for when I need to stand up for very long, I wonder if it would help that weak feeling I get in my back.
After all these years sorta being able to hide behind the exs wheelchair it is strange having to deal face peoples issues with my own disability. Hope it is a good day for everyone and you find what you want if you go out to the sales today.

Karen good to hear you had a quiet Thanksgiving and are sleeping better now. I bet it is an adjustment meeting people face to face again. We get used to things without relizing how it is changing our lives. The back brace is a good idea as long as you don't use it around the house. They help people but it lets your abs and back muscles weaken because the breake does the work for them.

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend as Tyrel called home three times on Thursday and I bet we talked to him for four hours total. Megan, Darrin, and the girls were over for the last call so Tyrel could catch up with Megan that time. He also got to talk to Emery some as she was interested since we had him on speaker phone. Friday mom came down and we had pizza over at the kids house so mom could see Audyn for the first time. Then Saturday was our Thanksgiving meal with everyone there including the turkey. It was a good day although after lunch I was paying for not sleeping the night before and I was downstairs in my chair while others stayed upstairs or came down to visit me. Emery came down to visit and was as cute as ever. At first she was careful and asked for help coming down the stairs but after a couple of trips she would tell me as she left "now stay right there". That was her way of saying I will be right back and I can get down by myself. I was dozing off and on but I was able to watch the state hs football championships on tv. Today was a day of sleep to catch up on all I missed this week end.

Mark, I'm glad to read about your little darlin's. I can just see you as they wrap Papa around their little finger!! lol Aren't they adorable.

now on to the so sadness. I was shocked and very sad to read Pony/ Phyills/ Giggles passed away in October. It is still hard for me getused to think of it. She was so worried about dying. I just hope she wasn't by herself.

That brings me to Kat. I haven't seen any post from her in quiet sometime. Do either of you know how she is doing? If you hear, please let me know. Things were getting pretty bad for her.

I love all my friends here at BT. Especially Karen and Mark!

I'll be back around soon. s Julia
