Julia, I don't think any of us is upset if you complain. Heck, we've all done it. Also, each one of us has been depressed at some point. We're here to help get you through it. The best that we know how. I'm not the greatest at words but I am here. You might be right in regards to catching up on your sleep.

The Christmas season seems to pull a lot of people down.

Thank you Dawn and Joy. You both are very sweet and Dawn, I you do have a way with wordsssss and so does Joy. You both cheer me up. I love you both dearly ((((Dawn & Joy))))

Jeannie, those little bundles of muscles ? Beth calls them mouse bundles. I finally got her to work on my back on day when she was here. She noticed even before I said anything about hurting.

She started messaging just above the waist on left side. My left side is bad with everthing. anyway, it hurt like heck. Poor child was working so hard she had sweat running down her face. She worked her way up and I tell you, it hurt!! I would groan and she would stop and say oh mother, I'm sorry! I finally told her to keep on no matter how loud I yelled.

After nearly 45 min. she said, well she kinda said some cuse words and said she had Caught that mouse.! She put my hand where it was and it did feel like the size of a mouse. She said I will try to be gentle, but it might hurt a little as the muscles let go.. Yes, it hurt a lot, but I was trying to relax everywhere else and I tried hard not to groan. you know how these things hurt, but feel good at the same time? Well that was where I was. Finally I felt nothing but relief.

She tried to show Ken how to do it and he will, but not as good as Beth. She is good.I will brag even if she is my daughter. I bet some of her patients hate to see her comming.:)

thank you Dawn and Joy again. All of you good people help keep me sane and I love you. Julia

I can testify, Julia, it can hurt but sometimes oh so good.... Or in my case, oh so bad, but guess that's my karma? Hope you are feeling better...

well just had a very unusual bird sighting,a young blue heron was walking around the back yard! sure got rid of every other bird trying to eat seeds. hope it's not injured.

finally got my cards & am working on those. very hard for me to write these days. not sure why I've never gotten address labels -that would help!

I've put out all the decor I intend to do. other stuff is upstairs & unless an energizer bunny bites me no way am I attempting any stairs.I will wait to get the fresh greens so they last longer.

Joy I love the lights of Christmas! maybe my son will bring the tree down for me so I can see lights?

Jeannie, your mantel sounds beautiful once again!that's alot of cookies, what kind?

Jo,can you put your mom's cameo on the antique mirror?

HM & I are back to fighting over the Roth IRA. I let him know how he made me feel. he just keeps adding insult to injury so I asked that we wait until Jan to discuss it anymore. he brought home some literature. firsrt thing I noticed was to qualify you must have earned income! now why didn't his broker lady know that?

our little dog Pepper was put down 4 yrs ago today. I'm so glad I insisted on getting Freckle's. what would I do without my little companion? 2 of the cocker's are still @ the local shelter but I'm glad we didn't adopt one. my dog is so mellow all she does is sleep all day which suits me just fine.

since only 3 of us for Christmas dinner I'm keeping it very simple. there's a football game that day afterall! and I get to go shopping tomorrow for my son,not getting anything for my housemate this year. I've turned into a grinch!

            hey everyone !

it's interesting your daughter calls them a "mouse", julia. i call them "knots".

pati, i make a butter cookie, roll it in walnut meal, flatten it a bit and make a hole in the center and fill it with raspberry jam. some people call them thumbprint cookies, but i think these are more delicate and smaller. mine are like 2 bites sized. i think the smaller they are the better.

yeah, i am not doing a christmas tree this year, so i made the mantle look really nice.

i washed down and cleaned out my refrigerator today. bathroom will get done tomorrow. that's it. then food shopping and i'll start making a few things ahead of time.

it is hard not to feel depressed when it's dark at 5pm. tomorrow is the shortest day of the year, so after tomorrow things will get brighter! the worst will be over! yes, i am going to be CHEERFUL even if it KILLS ME !

well, time for some fun and relaxation now! bubble bath and the last few chapters of my book? YES!!!!!!!!!!

thank you all for sharing and caring,
            jeannie

Here is our little tree. I think this may be the second smallest tree I have ever owned lol. I just kept thinking that we didn't have much room and I guess we could have gotten one a little taller. It is only a little taller than me lol.

                HI,

Stopping in before things get too hectic around here. Want to wish every one Merry Christmas and to those who observe it a happy Hanukkah. I am finally in the holiday spirit , somewhat. It's going to be busy right from the start tomorrow thru Monday.

The family decided weeks ago that we weren't going to pass presents. Yet it looks like we are. My mom and my sister have been out shopping everyday for the last couple weeks. So I am doing my best to come up with Christmas presents. I am also having Christmas here for my father on Friday so I have to prepare for the party.

Today I spent all morning at court with my son, for reasons I won't go into, and we are not finished going yet. We will have to go back in Feb which is fine with me , I need a break from that stress .

So I guess I will jump right into another stressor and have my Dad for dinner..What have I gotten myself into?? What I am looking forward to is giving Dad his gift. He just recovered from four eye surgeries and can see now. I ran across a hardcovered book called' House of Cash" it's all about Johnny cash and has never released Cd with it. I'm telling it to you straight that Johnny Cash is the only true singer there is in my Dad's eyes. So for a man who just sits there day after day it's the perfect gift for him now that he can see.

I also decorated candles for other gifts and made handmade presents. I am not done shopping. Have to hit the grocery store and buy some presents and more material for the candles. My Daughter is coming over in the afternoon to help. That will be fun.

I hope everyone has a real special weekend. I'm heading to bed,, goodnight

                Dee

Dee I am glad to see you pop in. I am also glad that you and your dad will be spending the holiday together. Sounds like the makins' of a good holiday. Johnny Cash is awesome. I did handmade gifts this year too. Just can't afford anybody but the little ones this year. Merry Christmas to you and yours too. (((((hugs))))) Don't wear yourself out!

It will be busy here too over the next couple of days. I still have a gift to make and I have done no wrapping. Seems I am always wrapping on Christmas eve. We decided to have homemade pizza for Christmas dinner. It is one of our favorite home foods and since it will be casual it will be easier on all. When my mom did Christmas dinner we voted on what we wanted. Having bird for Thanksgiving was usually enough for us so she would make a giant dish of Cannelloni or her fantastic fried chicken and of course individual pizzas. They weren't really so individual but leftover homemade pizza rules.

Meatballs I am saving for the New Year's party. Guess I have a new years party to go to at the princess's house. We are gonna do potluck.

Dee, glad everything is going good for you.

Christina, the tree is very beautiful. Like joy said I like the colors.

I'm trying to bake cookies this year which I have never done christmas baking before. I tried once when the girls were about two and four. What a mess we created. I never did it again. I brought the cookies or my neighbor gave us some. I think she feels sorry for us. lol She still does bring cookies over on New Years eve.

New Eve is at my house this year so next week I will be busy. No one drives home even if they haven't drunk anything. I had a bad experience on New years eve that it scares me to have anyone out on the road.
                      Take care,
                      Dawn

[B]I truly hope everyone has a happy Christmas!

I've been busy. keep adding things to my menu too. HM came home with about 6# of fresh sprouts today! will need to freeze some.

my "tree" is a small one I've had for years, finally found it in the big tree box!

one strange thing this year: I'm getting cards people bought just for me,even got one from my dog!

it will be fairly warm here this weekend. I'm grateful cause I really don't do well in freezing weather.

Jeannie,I used to make those cookies.

Dawn one of my favorite pics is of my sons making sugar cookies,in those days I baked everything from scratch, even French bread.

Dee,keeping busy is always a good thing. enjoy it all!

have a safe & sane holiday everyone. ((((hugs to all))))

I second that, hope everyoner has a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. I figure we all could use prosperous right, LOL. I just happened to find the last book in the Earth's Children books, the cave stories, Alya and bought it. So glad I glanced at the books at Sams' and found it in paperback. Cheaper that way and as I had already heard it was dissapointing, I did not mind the wait at all.

Joy, I'm ashamed the book(Shelter's of Stone)

is still setting on my desk! you should read it before the last one. I promise I will get motivated & mail it soon. it's hardcover so easier to read but of course a big book so maybe harder for you to hold? now I'm wondering if I can find the last book @ Costco (we don't have Sam's club here).

Christmas was great! CJ's family came and was here for about an hour and a half to exchange gifts and eat all of the hors d'oeuvres then left for other parts. CJ did all of the cooking so his ankle isn't feeling too good and my body hurts, even my butt musles which I have no idea why. Maybe climbing up and down the stairs with my baby nephew. Feeling drained. Slept til a bit after one today.

If my sister in law leaves that baby to his own devices while she sits on her arse the entire time at the next holiday get together I am gonna give her a piece of my mind. He is walking pretty good now and gets into everything so they either keep him tethered in one of their laps, usually his, or else he is left unattended. Especially by her. Came out of my room yesterday and the little guy is in the dining
room alone and is just tipping his uncle's store bought coffee cup to his mouth and then misses so drops it on the floor. So I and my other SIL clean up the mess and when I get done he is playing with santa knick knacks on a shelf right in front of her. She was tired so had her eyes closed. She kept trying to doze off and CJ kept waking her up and makin' her mad. Too bad. Her daughter, who is not my BIL's, took chalk on labor day weekend and drew all over a wall mirror, the carpet in basement and the carpet in the hall. She is like 6, old enough to know better and yesterday mixed all the play doh together and stuffed it inside some other toys. Had to all be thrown out. I can't imagine what it is like at her mother's where they live. My other niece and nephew are better behaved and one is younger and the other is only barely older.

Dog sat for an aunt inlaw. lol is there such a title? Big galute still a puppy but I have no clue how they manage with him in their even smaller house. They adore him and take wonderful care of him. He is a real lover and no concept of his size. I don't know what it is about animals that like to sit on my chest. Brody tries all the time and that dog, Snickers, is part Catahoula Leopard and horse lol and likes to get in my lap and plant his body up under my chin on my chest. When I let him he can stand with his paws on my shoulders. Still a baby lol.

Hello everybody. I'm still alive, I think. This has been a very strange Christmas.Son, my baby that lives near Atlanta didn't come home. He had his 2 little ones and he was not going to miss a chance to have them at "HOME" with him. We all missed him, especially his 3 other kids that live close to us.

Grandson & his wife from Chicago came, but it seems everybody knew they were comming or that they were here, except Granny and Papa!! ! Son called Christmas Eve night to see if they had been here. That was the first we knew about it. Stores all closed and nowhere to get them a gift! bah humbug!! they should have told me especially since they were in touch with the ex-S.O.B.

I got my day starting off right. Got up to go to bathroom. Started falling and running into everythoing I passed. Ended up with only top half of me lying in K's chair. Finally got my butt and legs into the chair. The day went down from there. For me, anyway.,

Everybody seemed to enjoy each other, daughter got some clothes together, got shower ready and helped me shower and wash my hair. It was noon and everybody was here. Had Beth not pushed me, very gently she did, I would have sat in that chair all day and forgot how I looked!!

I'm thankful for all of my kids, grands and greatgrands. Little Ryleigh was the STAR again, she is so tiny, but Dr. says she is getting taller and it isn't unusal for babies to stay small at her age. she's about 10 & half months old. She can walk really good. the little angel picked up 3 Barbie hair brushes, one in each hand and one in her mouth. I took the one out of her mouth, she got it with 2 fingers, looked at my hair, than down at the brush, then a "look" at me, then repeated that a whole bunch of times. I finally told her granny knew she needed to brush her hair. She got bored with me, but left me with a hair brush and a "look" at my hair again. That kid is way smart for her age.

OK, nuff bragging. I hope everybody had a good day. I also wish you all a very Happy New Year!

                                all my love,
Did you ever know that you're my hero and every thing I would like to be I can fly higher than an eagle
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings

                                for my brother Ben
