Hi everyone, nice to see almost everyone still going. Sorry to hear about ponygirl. I have been lost for a while but busy. My family is good, I am going for surgery on Friday and getting my work and house organize for the long recovery. parents came to spend holidays with us, so taking advantage of Mom being here to go for the surgery.

I have gotten my tree up and my outside decorations on since with surgery I will be in bed for a few weeks. My girls are doing fine and my husband too, he is not happy with my surgery since "it does not bother him" he does not believes that I should have the surgery. I had mentioned before that I am having an Hysterectomy done and he thinks that I should let natural course take care of my pain and other issues. Man are so selfish and dumb some times.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and if I am not able to log before Christmas may everyone have a nice Holiday and May God bless everyone.

hi sly, yup it is good to have you back with us. shame on you for leaving, LOL well it is always better to hear from people more than it is to be wondering why they are absent, illness or what going on. I will be waiting to hear from you.

pati, jo and all I just have to tell you about what happened - you know how my kids were feuding and such? and not having any get-to-gethers was making me awfully blue I finally realised. So i started telling my kids whenever I saw them that momma was NOT going to go to a gas station for lunch this Christmas!! That is what hubby and i did last year, no joke, no places that served food was open but the gas stations with their chicken and chunk potatoes. So hubby and i had a makeshift and lonely time of it last year.

and guess what? I got my house cleaned up better than it had been for some time and we did have a lovely time of it. Son had said a time or two that we need to do that again and how much he enjoyed it. Only one was missing and that was daughters' husband, big hunter. but I truly believe it will all be okay from now on. And it had been making me feel terrible these few yeyars and i was just letting time pass and not caring aout cleaning and such. It always was more fun to clean even when I was younger IF I was epecting company, LOL. it is a lot harder for me to clean but at least i made the effort to do it.

pati i am glad you have pills to take for that tooth. better safe cause a bad tooth can cause a lot of trouble. hope all goes well with it and that it can be pulled soon.

Joy,that is wonderful news! we must appreciate our families while we have them eh? grandkid's are getting old enough to question their parent's feuds by now afterall. anyways hope you & DH can truly enjoy a family get together this year. thanks for sharing with us!

my youngest son called yesterday. haven't seen him for 1 1/2 yrs now. I had sent him a BD card with some cash so he called to thank me. was hoping he could come here for Christmas but understand if he cannot.

for some reason I have gotten busy around here lately. found a brand new pressure cooker when I cleaned out a closet! am cleaning stuff that hasn't seen the light of day for years.

            hope everyone doing OK.

good on finding that pressure cooker, I love them. Now that it won't be hot, it is a good time to use that pressure cooker. I love how it tenderizes a nice beef roast- muumm,LOL. oh my i imagine you are more than ready to see son if it has been that long. is this the one that lives on island? I tell hubby about that and he sure can tell how I'd love to see any island up and over your way. it has to all be beautiful

son came by our house today while he was working. he does this if he is in our area to eat or use re4stroom etc. it is hard to find just what you need when working out like he does with our c ity water place. He opened the ref and asked if there was anything he coul eat. I started giggling as hubby had just come home and brought 2 chicken pot pies and we had just about devoured them.

I said doubt if he'd find much to eat and I promised that we would go to grocery store and buy food and sandwich stuff for luncnes. He responded by saying -well you should, you know you still have kids to feed. that like to have cracked me up for sure.

Joy,cracks me up too! I try to keep something around for son's to eat. and no,this is not son that lives on an island. other son lives WAY (up river).

well the pressure cooker has made it to the back porch. no room anywhere inside for it. (that's why it was hiding in a clothes closet).

yesterday I finally ventured upstairs to do some much needed cleaning. feel like I'm at least 90 yr old the way I hurt today! makes me dizzy to look downstairs while dusting the old deer head, etc. thinking it might be from my meds? walking around feeling off center all the time is getting old.

it's warm here. in the 50's which is nice. lots of wind but long as we don't lose power it's OK.

hard to believe it's now Dec!

Ok, I am just going to go ahead and post this, not for pity, but I guess because nothing is going right and I don't have the answers I need, or want.

Ken and I have both been sick since way before Thanksgiving. He was back to Dr. yesterday and I am still on antibiotic's. My 3rd. round.

For the first time in our life together we had to cancel Thanksgiving. We were both so sick we hardly moved all day. We had soup, which was good cause it was hot and also tasty. New Endland Clam Chowder.

I still can't taste, but the soup was hot and felt good on my throat. The children all acted like they were mad at us for trying to keep them from getting sick. They should be thankful, this is a nasty bug, it hangs on and on and it is everywhere.

You would think at least one of them would have brought us a plate of food, but it was just as well. Ken and I were getting our calendar for Dec. up-dated and between the 2 of us we have Drs. appointments nearly every day in the month of Christmas. Of course we have Christmas Day free, but I have one one Dec. 26.

Theres a bunch of other stuff in there but I don't feel like writing anymore tonight. Needless to say Ken and I both were very sad to have to call off our dinner Thanksgiving.

I'm horace and Ken has a bad ear ache along with all the respiatory chunk we are trying to get well.

So, we can't hear each other and it is a blessing, we just have to resort to dirty looks! lol lol

Now, Bella, I'm glad you are getting the surgery and us men are so dumb sometimes especially when it comes to anything concerning the wife. I'll remember to pray for you as well as all the family.

Sly, you do the BodyBump? lol I laugh because my 1 & 1/2 year old granddaughter can do it. She was leaving one night and her dad just said "germ" and that little stinker did the knuckles and then on to a whole bunch of other stuff I didn't learn. She is cutting cart wheels in the back yard! She is a mess, but Israel has brought her up to see us a few times and we tried to not cough or anything on her. She is the bright spot in our lives right now. We love them all of course, but she is the only one we have seen for awhile.

Joy, I'm thankful your kids are getting their act together. I know that makes you happy and also happy for you. Pati, glad you heard from you son and hope he will come home for Christmas.

Jeannie and all the others, I am very thankful for all of you and I feel lost when I do not come often. I'm working on it though.

Brain Talk has been a real blessing to me for so many years, you all feel like my family.

I send my love and prayers to all of you, Julia s

Lol Julia - how cute! Your little granddaughter! I'm sorry you guys are so sick. After hearing what's up with you I'm thinking that maybe I have a sinus infection. It's been at least a month I not more that I've had a really stuffy nose and have been hoarse on and off. I keep thinking its stress - but (and not to be gross) the color of the stuff coming out of there isn't so pretty lol! Sorry.

Stress... Yes. My husband needs a job - bad. I'm running the concessions stand for my son''s high school basketball games and its crazy. Plus being with little kids every day - which I love btw. Anyway I've got to do the stress thing better. Gotta remember to breathe right? :)

Who was it that wondered I would be back haha - I'm here... And I need to be here. Big time.

Well I'm on my phone and the Internet is all slow an stuff. Plus it's late and sleep does a body good! Sending out all my love and prayers to all of you.

                      Love Sly

sly -- how goo to hear from you. I am worse than an old hen worryin g about keepin g baby cicks afe, LOL really I do tend t wonder after a few days but when folks have been a sent a week and more, well little wheels start turning and that is my anxiety yanking me around with it for sure. now Jo I hope you are getting better. if your weather has been like ours, it is a hard time knowing just what to put on any day you go out of the house.. hot tyo cold to who knows, lol, well i tend to stay at home a llot and just wear my pj's. pjs are easier to wash and dry at that. but been making tne rounds of dentist, eye etc doctors and also that dratted blood tesing for coumadin all the time. i should not knock it but it does get annoying to not know how much of blood thinner to take etc. and whata vegetable i shouldn't ea.

i finally told the one drawing blood - if i am suppose to stop the green vegetables so i can take those pills, why not just tell patients to eat their greens every day or so? now that would make sewnse to me, lol. instead of having to avoid them, duh. take care everyone

Jo,please check in if you feel up to it. am worried about both of you if you have the flu?

Sly,could you repeat some of your story for me? my "cheat sheet" is missing & my brain seems to be mush most days. thanks!

                              has anyone heard from Dawn?

just took me 3 days to hem a pair of drapes. no more sewing for me!

I asked and they said cabbage was on my list, drat it all. shhh LOL I still eat it whenever we eat out sometimes. It sp far hasn't mde my leaky valve any worse or maybe I just can't tell. I have now been to have blood tested so will know when I go back and how much med I take. I aso have teeth cleaned and a filling put in, and my eyes tested. my cataracts are growing in one eye. And I am to see an eye specialist for another eye problem but no appointment available until January. the specialist will come from TN to a town so both of us will travel some for that one. also had a haircut, and no kidding, it is as short as most men's in back!!! ACK, LOL. but then again, it is easy to take care of now. It will grow back soon. (meanwhile - uugh awful ugly)
