    hey everyone !

pati, how about a homemade tartar sauce or something close to that? i'd mix some lite mayo with some lemon juice, a little chopped green onion, some dill pickle relish or chopped dill pickles with a little bit of the juice and some chopped parsley or dill (i love fresh chopped dill) and some ground pepper. i like to fool around in the kitchen...most of the time it turns out fine.

the owner of the company that is making my kitchen cabinets called me last week and said my cabinets will be ready in about 3 weeks instead of 6. they had a cancellation of a job and mine was next. so i am a bit stressed as i have to clean out my cabinets and paint. i've cleaned several cabinets already, one of the benefits of a small kitchen. i'll get paint this thursday and give the walls a quick wash and get to painting. i'm pretty sure i'll have everything painted except maybe the hallway to the basement.

it's cooled down quite a bit here, but will be quite warm on friday and then another cool down. pati, they also have decals you can put on sliding doors so people and birds don't run into them and get hurt. i have had several birds fly into my front dining room window over the years. no tragedies, but i'm sure a couple of dizzy birds.

dawn, i hope you are enjoying your vacation at the cabin! i hope the painting of your new sun room goes well! i paint walls by myself and if you prep before and tape it, you can paint faster. labella, i hope the new school year goes well for your daughter . joy, i have been reading about coconut oil lately. it's a great antibacterial, antiinflammatory and antifungal oil and it helps keep your gut flora healthy by killing the bad stuff and letting the good stuff live. it's also a MUFA (medium unchained fatty acid), that we don't get too much of in our diets and many acids that help in weight loss. i buy organic oil from the supermarket, it's a bit pricey but you need so little. i have already started using it in foods and putting some in a jar for my face at night, i also use a tablespoon for hair conditioner, as my hair gets dry in the summer.

clouds, i think parasols are a great idea! they might look funny on a sunny day, but they protect you if you're walking. julia, i'm always happy to see a post from you and i know you're getting stronger everyday . leo, i'm sorry they're screwing with your meds! one of the drugs i take, clonazepam, can make your white blood cell count go down. mine was and i thought i would have to change meds . but, i also stopped taking benadryl for my allergies cause it wasn't doing much and i sprang for the pricey zyrtec. well, i remembered the doctor telling me that benadryl also caused some people to have lower white blood cell counts (called leukopenia). i had stopped the benadryl a week before my blood test for my white blood cell count and it was normal! so i know it was the benadryl giving me the low white cell count...i can stay on my clonazepam!...for now!! well, i still have to get tested every 6 months for those white blood cell counts. it's so nice to see you posting, leo!

christine is alive and well and living in facebook. beader (sher), is alive and well and is doing her genealogy tree back to the roman empire . deedee, we miss you too and hope things are going well for you !

love you all and thank you for sharing and caring ,

Hello everyone, hope everything is OK in your neck of the woods.

We are all doing fine, I just came back from the doctor's office and she wants to have a biopsy, after a sonogram it looks like they have diagnose me with Adenomyosis, and some cysts some she wants to go in a see if there is anything maligne in. Adenomiosis is not bad but it is a total pain. The cramps and bleeding is driving up the wall. the doctor told me that if everything is OK it is my choice on what to do, I could just live with it until I hit menopause which is who know when, she could give some hormones, estrogens or whatever to hsee IF it helps or I could have an Hysterectomy, which is what I am very incline to do but it will not be for another couple of months while everything is straight it out with the insurance company and I figure out how much $$ is going to come out of my pocket. Medical bills this year are what has me poor. Between B getting so sick and having to have all those MRI and test, S having the miscarriage and now this I am going to go crazy. We pay so much for monthly insurance and still have to have cover about $5000 of our pockets before they pay 100%. It is so sad where the health care in this country has gone.

        Jeannie,thanks for recipe-good idea!
Bella,I missed the miscarriage saga it seems. as for your health issue? hopefully you can get the hysterectomy & get on with your life. totally agree healthcare is the pits in this country. good to hear from you!

I figured Chris had gone to Facebook. hopefully she will keep in touch here once in awhile.

I now have space machines in the utility room, call them that cause of all the lights & weird sounds. had to get HE detergent as didn't want to mess anything up. drums are so big I could fall in & get lost.

some of housemate's relatives dropped by yesterday. he wasn't here of course & these people would never bother to call even though they live 2 hrs away. what happened to manners? oh well,at least I like these people unlike some of his family.

been watching the weather news. hopefully everyone will be safe. interesting how NH's were supposed to comply with new evacuation laws after Katrina & yet ignored the new laws! and puzzles me why people not forced to leave rather than take chances. got a chuckle seeing the St.Bernard being removed from back of National Guard truck. must have been a puppy since person catching it didn't fall over.

interesting how meds can mess up white blood cells. I just found out people using blood thinners (such as my housemate), need to be careful using topical creams! especially antibiotic ones. he has enough trouble getting his #'s to stay steady on those blood tests. (hope you read this Joy!)

          Buttons,

Thank you for the support, as for the miscarriage, the long and short of it is that my oldest got preggy in January with twins, but after some test the ultrasound found that something was not right, after some weeks of going back and forth with the doctors on what to do, God decided it that it was not meant to be and she miscarried. Which to us was a blessing, she is barely 18 her and her boyfriend are bearely surviving and since I would not have kick her out of the house, my hubby and me with the other daughter would have been responsible for those babies. A love to have grandkids, but now is not the best time $$ and psychological at my house to have 2 more mouths to feed.

Now she is concentrating in going to Nurse school and then after she might want to think about getting preggy again.

          Health insurance are the worse.

Bella, thanks for sharing the daughter's story. hope she's on some safe birth control now. having NO health insurance is the worse in my opinion. however I do understand what you mean. people have to be very careful when dealing with any ins. company, they only care about profit.

Just got back from the week with the one brother and sister. Sad to say I feel like divorcing them also. It wasn't all that fun and too many bad memories. I fine that I can't remember the good times with them. I always have and will feel like I don't belong to this family.

Sun porch is still in progress. The only things left for the construction company is the french doors and the stone for the fireplace. We still have to paint the molding and place some kind of flooring. I think I'm going to go with bamboo flooring.

Hope everyone is enjoying the last days of summer. It's been so dry here that the leaves are not turning color and are already dropping from the trees. Hopefully, that doesn't mean a early winter. Yuck!!!!

No more adventures for this year. We haven't planned any more trips for the rest of the year.

We did get to bike about ten miles one day. The towns were close together so the DH and I stopped at shops on the way. Brought some items and then took the truck and picked them up. It would have been too hard to try and bike holding on to packages. The store keepers were all nice about holding them until we got done biking.

Everyone signed up to do it again next year (the other two siblings) but we haven't decided. We are thinking that the other brother and his family could go in our place. Since we don't associate with him anymore. He's the one that tried to take me to court for mentally incompented.
              Take care,
              Dawn

getting a new washer/dryer set delivered this afternoon. I'll be doing laundry all night as the washer pump went out on Sat. didn't even look @ the fancy sets with drawers underneath as I figure a new range & frig will be the next thing needed......

still not a drop of rain here & everything is getting dry. fine with me long as the forest doesn't catch on fire! I love weather in the 70's.

new wall is finished & now have a 6'x6' window,I can't even open/close it of course,it's a slider. had to admit it's nice & will keep the rain & wind out.maybe I'll just bundle up & sit outside all winter! ha

had nice visit with my son. his kitten is adorable. his dog was very friendly since didn't take my dog with us. dog & kitty get along great which is a good thing.

I need a recipe for some kind of sauce to put on crab cakes I bought & have in freezer. any ideas?

hopefully a good week ahead for everyone. and no hurricane damage this time.

I'm LOVING this weather! sunshine everyday & I sit outside & read for hours.

housemate & I just got subpoena's for end of Oct. has to be for my friend's purse snatching as we both filled out forms as witnesses.

Dawn,if you didn't enjoy the cabin I'd sure say no to next summer if it were me. go somewhere you will both enjoy.sounds like the sunporch is coming along & you can enjoy this winter. neighbor's maple is bright gold right now so was just thinking maybe means early winter?

these are the lazy days of summer for me & I'm loving every minute of it! I've lost 12# this summer. loving the crockpot cooking. bought my son a crockpot too. other son will be down next month for short visit but NOT to work here hopefully.

Do you mind if I let it all out & complain? Most of you who come, know me. You know it all started Thanksgiving 2012, I had 3 sz.s & my heart stopped. I was in hosp. for 1 month then rehab for 2 (I don't even remember any of Dec. & started to 'come to' in late Jan. My sis brought "Uno" to play but I was confued bout my numbers & had no memory of how to play. Accually that was a good thing to do cuz it made me have to think & try to remember. I have TLE & memory is located there. A few weeks after I got out my DH fuond his dad unconcius in bed & he went to the hosp. My DH has been runnigh around in circles dealing with his dad,s 'stuff' (estate & such). He knew FIL would die soon (went to hosp in Feb. & died in Aug.) John has also been going to N. Carolina ( for work) all summer....3 weeks out of town, a weekend home. This has been the SXYXy est summer. We didn't do anything fun. We love to camp but our camper never even got uncovered this year (here in Toledo, summer is said to end Labor Day (stores put away the summer stuff & out comes the school & Halloween stuff). John might be home for good (for awhile) at the end of Sept. I hope we have time to prepair for Halloween.John is an electronics engineer & he made a remote control little guy that runs around the neighborhood holding a little plastic pumpkin & kids give him their candy sometimes. I made gravestones for the yard, we bought & frakenstein head & on his stone I put "Frank N. Stein". And we have lights that flash to music & a scarecrow hanging in our camping outhouse. Well, thanks for lettin' me vent.,

Lor, I'm so sorry about FIL. I must have missed it somewhere. Maybe when John comes home in September you could go camping, The best camping that I had done was in the fall. Less people and bugs. You can make a stew over the fire. Or plan something for you and John to go somewhere for a weekend.

Yes, taking care of a estate is a lot of work. I'm sure John is having it harder that he is so far away and having to deal with everything.

Pati could job on losing the #12. That is really alot of work. I've lost some but still want to lose #10 MORE to be back to where I was before the horrible meds took over my body.

Sun porch is moving right along. finally. The door goes in today and the dumbster is moved out on Monday. Yay for me. They will only have to fix the carpet and they will be done with us. YAYYYY. I'm glad we did it but I'm tired of the construction crew being in and out of my house.

Can't wait until we get our things done and sit and have the fireplace roaring and a glass of wine. That will be the life.

Christina, check in with us. been wondering about your foot. Hope everything is alright.
                      Take care,

Lor,you feel free to vent here anytime OK? and I'm also sorry your FIL died. make plans for some funtime when John gets home, you both deserve it!

Dawn, enjoy the sunporch! and nice the contractor is finally out of your hair & the dogs can have their home back to normal.

still having beautiful sunshine here! and I have the water tanks back. planted mums.dahlia, ornamental kale. but when added purple cabbage the deer pulled them out & ate them! so added a white picket fence to keep out bambi's & my dog (she likes the cabbage also!) I call the 2 remaining cabbage the $40. ones.

we had a bad smoke haze from the wildfires burning in other side of the state. called my mother on her birthday & she can't see the hills around where they live. one of my cousin's dropped dead from a heart attack (he was my age),and my niece got married & moved to Nevada.

housemate is thinking might not go hunting this year cause of the fires. he has a hunting cabin with his twins in the fire area but so far hasn't reached there. read the deer are heading for the towns where they can find food.

BTW,Dawn it took me 12 weeks to take off the 12#. I need to lose much more of course.

wish the missing would check in once in awhile!

                          hey everyone !

one of the missing is checking in !

i had the contractor here last tuesday, wednesday and thursday tearing out my existing tile wall, cabinets and countertop and he insulated the back of that wall for me and moved a pipe back into a wall so i would have room for my dishwasher, garbage disposal and faucet connections. he put in some electrical connections for me and put up all my cabinets and crown moulding, laid down my sub-floor and put the knobs and pulls on my cabinets! this wednesday, he'll connect my new dishwasher, faucet and drill a hole in the countertop for the sink and drop it in.

i was up at 730am those 3 days so i could dress, eat and go outside with the dogs before the contractor came at 815am. wednesday i was so tired, i took out my yoga mat, pillow and blanket and slept on the cement outside. i don't like the dogs to be alone outside for hours, cause they hate that and bored dogs get into trouble. it was beautiful weather all last week, so i was glad!

today, i am slowly putting my stuff back into the new cupboards. i also set up my firepit (i made myself a promise i would set it up when i felt truly on my own) and cause it was chilly at night and it was my way of celebrating getting my yardwork done and getting the majority of the kitchen done. it will always be a mix of sadness and freedom for me to be in this house, but i can't imagine being anywhere else.

so, glad we're all back after the little close down of bt! lor, i'm sorry your father in law died. i felt so sorry for him the last year and sad no one really made his last months easier. couldn't your hubby have taken a family leave of absence? you and his father were both ill! maybe he couldn't...but it's a shame.

hope you're all enjoying these last days of summer!

thank you for sharing and caring,

                            # 2 of the missing is checking in.. Actually I'm still here, just puny again and haven't felt like posting. Trying to keep up with how everybody is.

Has anybody heard from Jan since her hospital stay? Joy, hope the foot is getting better. You too Christina? Pray everybody is doing as well as possible.

I'm doing some things to help me get some strength back. I miss everybody at BT and want to get back to normal here.

I have enjoyed reading all about the things everybody has been doing all summer. It's hard to believe summer is less than a week away.

Pati, I'm so happy for you to have such nice weather now. At least it has cooled down a bit here, but still too hot for me to spend much time out side.

Dawn, it sounds like you have had a good summer. Lor, hope your life gets back to normal too.

I'll try to get back soon.

Clouds Z, hope you are doing good. It's been nice to hear from you more lately.I hope miss Kitty is doing better. We all love you my dear one

thanks for checking in & posting Jeannie & Jo!

hopefully when fall sets in BT will get back to more active.

well yesterday housemate & I got our second subpoena's. now date has been changed to Dec & it's obvious the witness advocate did nothing to get us off the list! this is so nuts, neither of us were a witness to anything. what a waste of our tax $$.

weather has changed,no rain in forcast but it's cooled down from the 80's & lots of fog. more fires in Eastern part of state & one firefighter has died. 4,000 firefighter's now including some from Canada.

picket fence is working to keep remaining cabbage alive.

my cat seems to be going downhill, she's almost 10 yr old but have had cats live longer than that!think she might have gotten into a fight with one of the huge feral cats that roam the area.

Jeannie, your kitchen sounds wonderful & I know you will enjoy it for years to come. Divorce is a sad thing & you will grieve for awhile. just avoid the "failure" syndrome cause it will get you nowhere. you are strong & I know you will be fine.

Jo,so good to hear from you! glad it's cooling down there. heat would keep anyone down I'm thinking, especially with high humidity you have & all those storms!

hope Jan will be home by Monday's game Packer's/Seahawk's.I think her surgery was the 17th?? get well Jan!

i keep having to do battle with godaddy. it wants to hog my computer and refuses to give it up at the least little thing.

it is good to be back up and walking. i had a sinus infection and now am having trouble with my insides now having to take more meds after pills killed off both good and bad things in intestines. not feeling good at all. at least the weather is beautiful. fall is my "at peace" time.

it is awfully good to see everyone posting. jo i hope you start feeling better and soon. pati i feel for you having supeona hanging over head. no one needs things like that. i love hearing about your projects jeannie and lor i am sorry about your fil. i know you were always dong whatever you could to help out and i am sure it was very much appreciated by family. now it is time for you to attend to your health dear one.

i hope jan is doing okay. my friend donna has not visited in a very long time now and i miss her a lot. hopefully when i feel better i can beging trying to drive and visit her. she lives in another town and since i get tired so easily, i have not even thought about driving to see her at all. maybe someday i will regain leg strength and all back enough so that i will have enough energy to get dressed etc and then still have enough ummpah to feel up to going someplace. old age is not what it is cracked up to be at all, lol.
