Clouds,we have alot of fog today. OK since I don't have to drive in the stuff. all these days of cold & bright sunshine are gonna end soon, rain back next week.
winter is VERY depressing. try to just think ahead to spring! smell the flowers & enjoy seeing new calves, etc. personally if I could just sleep until spring I'd be happy.
the thought that is keeping me going this winter is waiting to see if that french lilac bush i moved from an all day shade spot into an all day sunny spot is going to reward me with some magnificent blooms and smells in mid-spring! when it did have a few puny bloom's on it, the smell was very strong. the bloom colors are also a richer purple color, maybe a reddish-purple as opposed to the bluish-purple of regular lilac's. i got my electric saw for christmas, so i will be out in mid-march pruning the lilac's in the back to a normal shape. don't know if i will just shear them off and wait until next year to get flower regrowth or just take out the thickest canes first and let some flower's grow this year.
it is freaking cold here the past several days. high's in the low 20's and down to almost 0 at night. we had some hard wind's (prolly 40mph sustained) last friday to saturday. a lot of power went out in the city, but thankfully our area was spared. i did have a few big, thin branches fall off the maple.
the dog's are bummed because i will not take them outside to play ball...it is too cold, for me and them.
january is almost over. february is the shortest month...can spring me far away?

It's been -14 this morning. Schools are cancelled or they were two hours late start time. We are just getting the normal winters here now. We haven't had it this cold since 2007. I have to take the dog out but I dress very warm and get out there and back in a hurry.
Clouds, winters a hard month. Like jeannie start January is almost over and february is a short month. March can have lots of snow but then we are almost done. Since I don't work anymore I would rather have the snow than this cold cold weather.
DD and I picked up her wedding dress yesterday. It's so pretty and she looks great in it. I've been looking for dresses for me but all the mother of the bride dresses look too old for me. lol I'm trying to lose 10 pounds before I buy one.
You may think I'm crazy, but I love Winter. I love the cold, the snow. I can hibernate, snuggle with my blankets, cuddle with my birds. I like grey days. I suppose this ties in with my depression...these kind of days, this kind of weather comforts me. I can make hot tea, soup, keep to myself and no one can criticize me for it.
Marion, I think you are the only person I've ever known say they like winter. you do seem to live in the right place eh? fall is time my body likes best-usually in the 70's here & no rain=pain free time.
Dawn, bet you will look great in any new dress! good luck with losing 10#!! is daughter all excited or is she stressed? what's th color scheme?
Jeannie, bet you can hardly wait to get out there & use your new saw!
hey I'm going to my doctor this afternoon for my concussion-wish me luck!
saw doc yesterdsy. had cat scan no blood clot! just have to get som blood work done. take it easy & be patient. sorry too hard for me to type. this is the pits. Pati
I am glad you went . PATI. I do hope Dr. can get to the bottom of this and get you to feeling better. You deserve many feel good days.
Dawn, honey you pick out a dress that you like. too many times I found the (mothers) dresses became a WAR between the mothers. The mother of the groom many Times tried to outshine the bride. Now I am talking about the weddings I did when I was catering. Oh how I miss those day.
snow & freezing rain today. Not happy about that. take care all, jo
Did you ever know that you're my hero and every thing I would like to be I can fly higher than an eagle
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings
pati I am glad there were no blood clots too but I sure hope they can help you. I know you hate going to doctors and all but as I use to tell my dear mamma, if you let thing go, it could end up being more costly as well as damaging to you. I am afraid that there is so much that can go wrong and I am tickled that I do NOT know as much as I use to about medical things. I use to read so much and end up like a scared kitty cat, LOL. take care and make all the appointments you doctor asks of you please., promise now.
well, we got about 3 inches of snow right quick yesterday, in about 4 hour's, then it started to rain. it's 41 degree's now, supposed to get up to 57 tomorrow then back down to 24!!!
so, i went outside and shovelled the slushy snow or snowy slush, depending on your view. more of a matter of pushing it aside than lifting up the shovel, cause it weigh's a ton! i went and shovelled out a path to the street drain's cause if the water doesn't go down them, it'll freeze up in the driveway. the water is running all down now .
a friend told me there is a zumba class (exercise to music with a latin american beat), at a church a few minute's down the road from me. it's tonight and i think i'll give it a try.
my kitchen tile came in. february will be a busy month, cause i will tile my backsplash's.
happy to see everyone coming in to say "hey" everyday and keep us up on "What's Happenin'"...
thank you for sharing and caring,
jeannie
