told my housemate this morning that I HAD to get out of here today. hadn't been anywhere since bought the recliner over 2 weeks ago.

so went shopping & bought a new pillow. this better take away my morning neck pain. had lunch at my favorite Mexican place. windy & rainy again but nothing I can do about that.

I hate to shop. bright lights make me crazy,ringing in ear makes me feel like I'm going sideways or something. can't see worth a hoot. yada yada. grateful I can still walk,grateful I can still see,grateful I can hear.

Jo, I used GS to equal grandson! I do know his name but not sure how to spell it? can you tell I don't read the Bible? I never bought/sold much Fenton but have a green piece from Lori's estate still. here's a life lesson I learned once from buying part of an estate. I agreed to buy the contents of a china cabinet. it was packed full of expensive glasswear,crystal,etc. well the next day when I went back to pack the contents I noticed many of the pieces were missing. and of course I'd already paid. I was disgusted but knew I'd still made a very good bargain. glad those days are behind me! glassware is a very complicated commodity. could live to be 200 & never learn all there is to know.

guess it's spring somewhere! just not here of course. I did a walk around the yard yesterday & noticed I really need to do some pruning.

Jo you better be taking care of yourself and I will have to visit the No Smoking forum or what ever it is called lol to see how you have been doing. My own asthma is acting up thanks to this weather and yes smoking like a chimney lately. I will be going to see my own heart specialist here soon. Just waiting on word. My mom had atherosclerosis and had to have surgery to clear both the left and right arteries in her neck. She almost bled to death on the table because they couldn't get her to stop bleeding from an artery when they removed the equipment they were using from her groin. You best be takin care.

Pati I am doomed if the painting triggered my flare because I gotta finish that room. I managed to do a little today but it is still only about a third of the way from being totally done. My pain meds are barely even touching this mess.

Jeannie and Sher I added more paint colors to the room and changed my wall decision so I am hoping this works out.

Jeannie I kind of figured that was how it worked. I am gonna see what I can find about my breadmaker yeast. How's that kitchen coming? I need to get out and check out my flower beds. It looks like my crocus may be coming up at the end of the bed next to the house.

Which reminds me ladies. I have my cauldron 100_1719.jpg full of Tulip and Jonquil bulbs and the top is covered and protected by a heavy layer of fall leaves and chicken wire to keep the critters out. So when will it be safe to uncover these since they are spring bloomers? I think this weather may throw them off and I don't want to lose them by not uncovering them soon enough. Too soon and they will get eaten. Should I just take a stick or something and see if they are coming up under the leaves and if so uncover them or what?

Sher I am so glad you are getting your medical stuff taken care of. Yep every woman needs at least one little black purse. Sounds like you are just as picky as I am lol.

Joy I am sorry your body is committing mutiny on ya. I am right there with ya. I am glad you put your poor rescued Betta in something bigger.

Dawn I am so excited for ya. I hope you take pictures you can post. Are ya gonna bring back plenty of beads, heh heh, LOL? I am positively green with envy.

Okay it is ridiculous how chatty I seem to be today. Prolly losing my mind thanks to be almost bed bound thanks to the pain.

Mal it is good to know you are still with us. as for me, when i really feel bad, i will be clicking the thanks button .. even if i can't sit long enough to read. i do push myself for even getting online as I always overdo it and feel worse after. . i need to make myself use energy to do housework even if i only do minimal there is always laundry that needs doing. i get so far behind it is unreal.

Chris,I'd remove the leaves & see what's coming up & green. the bulbs need sunshine to grow. but keep in mind I live in a totally different part of the country!

not sure my little outing yesterday was worth the pain I feel today. however the new pillow worked well & for the first time in ages my neck feels almost normal.

I've decided to build a bed across the front of my trailer. make it low so easier for me & my dog. no idea how old dog is but one day she might not be able to jump up so far & I already feel I've passed the 100 yr mark myself. well of course I won't actually build it,must find a carpenter I can trust & be prepared to spend alot of money for a new FOAM mattress. my hips are getting so bad (I always sleep on my side).even my FAT isn't helping for cushion.does anyone have a Termapuetic (sp) mattress?

camelia & forsthynia (sp) are starting to show color. it's been raining so hard the driveway is running with water. and snow is being predicted again!

chris, why don't you take that chicken wire and put it around the edge of the cauldron to make a kind of fence around it. then your bulbs will be protected from any critter that thinks they look good to eat. i have seen squirrels bite off the bud from my tulips, maybe it looks tasty to them? i hope those colors work out, i remember repainting trim because the dark colors on the molding around the bottom of my dining room made it look like a corral...that still haunts me . just painting the upper and lower lines of molding got rid of that and added a nice, bright touch to the room.

pati, i have heard a lot of good things about those foam temperpedic mattresses. they mold around your body when you sleep and and somehow keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. i would mabe go to the library and see if they have any consumer reports magazines or books that rate the various brands of foam mattresses. they might all be the same and you could get away with getting something cheaper, but i have never skimped on the price and quality of mattresses cause you spend so much time in bed and need it to be comfortable.

i spent the weekend camped out at home depot . i am comparing prices of cabinets and other stuff and am getting an idea of the cost. i want to be close to the look i want, i can concede on some things, but not the cabinets cause they set the whole mood of the room. i also am thinking about how much work i want to put into doing parts of this myself. i know once the weather gets warm, i will be spending time outside with the dogs. when i went outside yesterday, it was 68 and beautiful. i had been at home depot at 930am for a few hours and getting up that early and the time change that day made me really tired. i sat for a while and then thought i'd take the dogs out. we played fetch and i raked up some sticks that had fallen all over the yard. i put some sticks to use as kindling for my fire pit. i kept some of the thinner logs from when they cut my maple and i'll let them season until next year.

today it rained. i took down my christmas/winter decorations...they're not overly christmas, but the colors and greenery with berries and pine cones just remind me more of winter. i washed one wall from top to bottom and rearranged things. i put the christmas/winter decorations in a box and labelled it. i put up some spring decorations...these are silk flowers, so they look nice. i have 2 identical vases made shortly after ww2 in japan, they have a nice bird in a tree painted on them. my living room is various shades of green, red/burgundy, yellows and shades of orange. my mantel is painted white, i want to repaint it and apply a warm glaze to it and maybe accentuate some of the molding with a deeper color. it's a nice mantel and if i screw up the process, i'll just repaint it maybe a yellow/ivory color. i will ask my paint store how to do that, it seems like an easy 2 day project. we're supposed to be in the upper 60's tomorrow and then a bit over 70 the next. i think i'm going to start buying bags of dirt again and leveling more of the yard...at least the garden area that i have fenced off from the dogs is pretty much even, it's outside of the fence that seems to need more leveling.

i have decided i'm going to put a japanese maple in the corner where the pine tree was uprooted. i have the space and i think it will look nice there. the tree is still on my fence and in the lady next door's yard on her electrical wires. it's been 10 days so far and i called detroit edison today and they still have it on their "to do" list, so i know i haven't been forgotten, but i'm wondering when they're going to do something, cause the woman i talked to said she didn't know.

so, i hope some of y'all are getting nice weather, too! i think dee's side of the state got some really bad weather today, we just had a minor thunderstorm ...the first one of the season and with a peal of thunder that made the dogs come into the room with me and hide out.

Well my cauldron is uncovered and everything was coming up big time. I'm excited. Kinda early if you ask me though. Once they start growing I usually don't have any problem but they sure like them sweet new bulbs.

Jeannie oh no we don't do same color molding, especially in this instance. Nice crisp white to lighten up the 2 blues. Also making box shelves and the outsides will be white and the insides will each be painted one of the 3 colors used in the room. Another way to keep the space light. I have also found a way to make our own trundle for his bed for under $30 then we will be able to take down the bunkbeds for more wall space.

Almost done painting. Yes I am still at it and CJ has offered to take over but I am too anal and I enjoy doing it. I am discovering that I love the shade of blue going in there. It is extremely soothing to me and I find myself stepping in there frequently to just stare out the windows at our woods and the pond. I am thinking that I would love to do something similar with a green in our bedroom. You know I always wanted yellow and I know that yellow is considered to activate the mind and incite good feelings if nice and bright. Well I am realizing I need mellloooooow. I would love a soft muted light shade sage maybe. I love wainscoting and would like to put it in my bedroom. *sigh* more work, more money but it isn't like I don't have all the time in the world lol.

I have heard the turkeys purring out in the woods nearby which makes me very happy. Can't see them out in the woods but I can hear them. Everything out there is a bunch of shades of brown and black so they blend right in.

Did my first real dog rescue today. 2 dogs, needing some vet care, found a proper licensed rescue to take them in and get them vetted. Took us all day and a trip from Ann Arbor but we got it done and I feel just fine about it. Good thing they are far from me cause I woulda took that sweet little baby girl pup home lol. Better this way.

Okay it is 3 a.m. and there is more but I gotta go to bed. Nite all, I'll be back.

good morning all. It seems we have someone keeping the home fire's burning all day and all night! I have been reading, trying to catch up for about 2 hours now and I feel sleepy now that it is time to get up.

Poor Mr. Jo, I feel bad for every unkind word I have said about him. He has the Shingles! (?) He is miserable and boy is he grouchy, but I don't blame him. The Dr. told him it was from the Sciatica nerve(?), its from waist to his heel. Especially around some area's he would kill me if he knew I was talking about such on internet. He has to go back to Dr. today. He doesn't want me to go with him. I saw my Pulmonary Dr. yesterday. Yes, back on Prednisone!! He told me I looked tired. I said it was because I WAS tired!! Mr. Jo and myself have not slept much for 3 or 4 nights. Thank goodness he is sleeping well tonight. I seem to be in my "sleep 2 hours, wake up for 2 hours, sleep another hour etc."

Going to Dr. seems to really do a # on my back and I'm not fit for anything for at least 2 days.

It's good to hear from all of you. I love what all of you are doing to your homes. I would love to paint, but alas, I think my painting days are over. A bright yellow would do our bedroom up just fine!. It's light green now, but if I ever get that one last room painted something besides green I will never use green again!! When we bought this house years ago everything was painted green. Walls, ceilings, fireplace, EVERYTHING!! Even the out side was green. Nothing is green now except our bedroom. We will have to do major work to get 2 or 3 layers of wall-paper off the wall before we can paint it. The wall paper was painted green.This was one weird house. Once we got the living/ dinning room painted it changed the whole house.3 rooms still has the ceiling board on it, but I like it so I guess we;ll keep it that way. Waincoating on those 3 rooms too. It looks old fashion, but I like it like that. The guy we bought it from grew up in this house and when he came by one day he thought he was in the wrong house.

PS: Pati, grandsons name is spelled Israel. not too hard to remember after you call it 10,000 times when he was little. He & his big brother lived mostly with us when they were young. Israel is doing really good with the buying/selling stuff. He only goes to flea market about once a week now. He met several venders that sold certain things and he decided to work mostly with these idems. He is enjoying the Glass & Potterey. Several other things and he spend's less time, but still spends much time here with me. I'm helping him look stuff up and keeping track of things going out and comming in.. You are right, there is so much to learn, I'll never learn it all. It has given me something to do and I enjoy working with beautiful things. I want to keep most of the things he shows me. lol I've given him all my junky jewerly things that were were real, but old and broken etc. He sales the jewerly for scraps and has made quiet a bit on it. He made me a pendant with a pretty rock my Mom gave to me right before she died. She gave me her whole rock collection. It had a few really nice piece's in the box.I still miss her so

Well hello everyone, I have not have the time to read all the posts, hope that everyones is good, I have been very busy and kind of sad. But I will try my best tomorrow when I will be off from work, taking my Bevreaement time off.

My "biological" father passed away this weekend, I really had not much relationship with him, my parents separated when I was 3 and mom took us (my brother and me) back "HOME", to her country, DAD really never attempted to make any contact with us, him and me shared the same birthday but he never sent a card or anything. When I moved back to the US he sent me a letter talking trash about my MOM, and I told him that even with MOM having all her defects she was still my MOM and that was not the best way to gain back my trust and love. After that he called a couple of times a year, but that was it. He had a little better relationship with my brother since he just to be station in Texas closed to where he lived in NM. But still it is sad, he was the 1/2 of my blood like it or not. The sad part is that my bro and I are the only Biological kids of his, he took his present wife kids and adopted them, but did not have anymore of his own.

I was thinking in going to the funeral, but found out that he wanted to be cremated and his ashes sparse in some Lake in the middle of nowhere Texas, I would need to take 3 airplanes and a 2 hour ride to get to his Home, and then a 4 hours drive to the Town where he wants his ashes to be taken, I am not up to having any type of "Adventure" in some strange place at this time, besides do not have the $$ to travel and most important I sitll have B, my baby really sick.

No doctor can find out what is wrong with her. She has had, MRIs, MRAs, EEGs, EMGs, psych evaluations and all type of blood test and everything comes back Normal, on Friday she had the worse episode yet, call me from schoool hurt from head to toe, could not walk from pain, called the Neurologist, she said she was at the Hospital on call to take her there and she would check her out. Went to the Childrens' ER had her paged, she said well let me give you some pain medication and come see me next week, after 1 hour they told us that she was taking space and since they did not know what she had to just go home. She had a very miserable weekend and even yesterday was still feeling really sick.

I called the peds and gave her an appointment late to see her, since they are the PCP they get copies of all reports and tests, the pediatrician read everything and said "Well looks like they have tried everything and still cannot come up with a diagnosis, lets send her to a Rheumatologist", she said that there could be a couple of posibilities 1. Fybromialgia, but she did not think so since B's problems seems more Nerve related than muscle and 2. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The think with those disease is that no test can determine them it would have to be at the discreation of the doctors. She also order the one test that she did not see any record off, Lead and other metals poison, she says that it is like 1% chance, but better be safe than sorry.

I called around to many Rheumatologist but nobody had availability til Late MAY, it is unbeliavable, no even on Emergency basis. Finally found 1 that has sometime next week to see her, meanwhile she felt better today but not great, and she will have to still suffer thru it. I would give anything to change places with her.

Please keep us in your prayers, she is really bad

I just wanted to say that I am taking the day off from painting and I AM PLANTING HERE FOLKS! I am concerned that this weather is moving our normal last frost days up. It is going to be in the 60s today then the 70s and I don't see frost in the next week so actually this may make me behind. Wait no I will be early and maybe I can squeeze a whole extra crop of salad makin's. I wonder if we are going to have a longer summer or if winter will come in sooner like this spring has.

Who knows, I try to work on the whole not thinking too hard about what is happening to the planet thing cause it could and has thrown me into a doomsday panic. I am just going to worry about taking care of my family and getting us prepared for anything in our own slow way.

Aww crap I gotta stop staring at this dang tv! LOL I have been watching DIY and HGTV for days and it is scaring the crap outta CJ. He is afraid I wanna do the whole house and yard ! Well I do but I will try not to break us .

Bella, I urge you to discuss the possibility of your daughter having Lyme disease. there's alot of info on the web about it. can mimmick RA,MS & many other ailments. can affect the body & the brain. most doc's are totally ignorant about Lyme so don't be surprised if the reumatologist is negative.

sorry to hear about your bio father's death. sounds like he wasn't much a part of your life but I'm sure you always held out hope he might be one day.

Jo, I knew Israel's name-just couldn't spell it. my spelling is the pits lately. glad you get to enjoy helping each other with all your stuff.

as for Mr. Jo & shingles? well he has all my sympathy with that! my dad has been suffering horribly for nearly a year now. and will never get my mom's laughter out of my head when she told me about hiding his pain pills! she wants him to suffer.

Jeannie,do you watch the kitchen renovation shows on HGTV? I learn alot on those type shows but realize I will never use the knowledge. you are taking on a big project & I hope you love the outcome.

Chris, I'm addicted to HGTV myself. love to see the world out there I'll never get to see in person. sometimes I get so sick of granite & stainless appliances I could puke. seems everyone wants what the neighbor's have.

we have 2 raccoon's visiting,saw their tracks in the snow this morning. explains why my dog went nuts @ the cat window!

my shasta daisies are coming up in soaking wet cold mud. I know it will be another strange year for plants here. everything needs some warmth! don't dare plant any seeds yet either.

Well it is absolutely unreal how much I am sleeping. I guess I might as well drag my big oxygen tank thing into the den and see if I can stay awake while on oxygen.

Not accomplishing anything much and haven't put out hummingbird food even. Going to try and catch up with some things. Right now I am redoing laundry that was washed but sat in washer eeek did not even do the smell test as I knew it wouldn't pass.

We have plans to go to river with daughter during spring break so no worries if I am absent more than usual..

eek! we have a baby raccoon trying to fit into the cat window. housemate saw it this morning. where there's a baby there must be a momma & now I'm paranoid about my pets being outside.

still snowing in some parts of WA. and all you people back east getting WARM weather. not fair!

finally beginning to like some of the gluten free pasta housemate keeps bringing home. each kind has different cooking times so have to read the instructions everytime.

hard to believe but another child was killed early this morning by a handgun. this one only 3 yr old & shot himself. just a few days ago a 7yr old was killed by a sibling. another girl is still in critical condition from being shot by a classmate. it's UNREAL. I'm afraid of guns & it makes me sick we don't have a law in WA state to punish adults that leave loaded guns around where children can get them. they best be changing that law ASAP cause everyone is very upset with all this going on lately. sorry if this upsets anyone but it's so awful I needed to vent.

On 2-2-12 Hank was given Loxapine 5 mg from the VA. He had taken one on Thur and one on Fri and on Sat he went and bought a 6 pack and drank it. He went to bed about 8 pm and, of course, did get sick. Then he talking from the time he went to bed at 8 until after 3 am. I was in the living room doing my treatments and stayed there after he told me not to come to bed. I could hear him jabbering away "It's 8:30 where is she?" "What the h is she doing?" various comments then he would get uo and look for me and then make comments like "There you are" "What are you doing here?" Then he would go back to bed and make all the comment again. This continued until past 3 am. One time when he came in he tried to take my pillow I was using and I didn't let him take it and he double-slapped my cheek and then he went back to bed. I was POed and thought of calling 911 but he settled down and went to sleep. He was awake early Sun morning (after a 6 pack he usually sleeps until almost noon) I went to church by myself.
