Jan I keep coming back often until I hear from you. Don't let that add any stress on you tho as there is truly not much else I can do as easily as check in here on computer. the fact that it is my favorite thing to do is a big plus. Keep on keeping good care of yourself hon. Kinda scary to know you have charge of Hank again even if for a little while ! no weekend is that it or just doing what you believe is right. for hank but not yourself is all I am thinking. I know, say butt out if you want to and I won't be offended.

I just saw and heard too much at that VA hospital when I was young and the Memphis policemen patrolled the area around the hospitall all the time. and often made mother and I change the way we were doing things even with daddy inside and us on outside ! weird bad things from all kinds of men with dementia caused for different reasons.

eek! we have a baby raccoon trying to fit into the cat window. housemate saw it this morning. where there's a baby there must be a momma & now I'm paranoid about my pets being outside.

still snowing in some parts of WA. and all you people back east getting WARM weather. not fair!

finally beginning to like some of the gluten free pasta housemate keeps bringing home. each kind has different cooking times so have to read the instructions everytime.

hard to believe but another child was killed early this morning by a handgun. this one only 3 yr old & shot himself. just a few days ago a 7yr old was killed by a sibling. another girl is still in critical condition from being shot by a classmate. it's UNREAL. I'm afraid of guns & it makes me sick we don't have a law in WA state to punish adults that leave loaded guns around where children can get them. they best be changing that law ASAP cause everyone is very upset with all this going on lately. sorry if this upsets anyone but it's so awful I needed to vent.

Clouds,the mom went to jail yesterday but only cause she is already a convicted felon thus cannot have any firearms. she & her BF will be in court next week for arrairgnment (sp) for assault (shooting the girl). hopefully the little girl will be OK.

I'm keeping the cat window closed. have seen what they can do to pets as well as people that try to save their pets!

wow it's Friday already. should I try to do something productive? ha

I'm reading a book by Linda Greenlaw. she's the first female captain of a fishing boat. her boat was the "sister ship" to the one that went down with all crew in "The Perfect Storm".

Sorry dear, didn't know racoon's were so "wild". We have all sorts of annimals around here, but I haven"t been out at night too much this year.

I'm not well and I've watched all the History channel so much I think I have seen everything that is on, over and over. Some of it is interesting, others are down right stupid and I refuse to watch such. One comes to mind, Larry the Cable Guy! I would not let him in my house or yard .

I'm getting a bit depressed today. All the talk about the world as we know it is comming to an end July, 2012.

Jo! The world is ending in July! Well that just won't do. I would like to at least finish my garden. Wonder if it will hold off until November. Oh wait, that was last year. I have been staying away from the news because the government and I don't mean just on the federal level is getting stupider and stupider. Anybody been keeping up with the birth control crap that is going on? Ridiculous. Nothing like contributing to the welfare status, the abortion rate, joblessness, child abuse, child adoption and a whole slew of other things. Ooops sorry mods, I'm done. I sure hope the love of your life starts feelin' better soon. Just go up and give him a hug and a smooch on the cheek for me. See if he thinks yer nuts lol.


Pati I think it is just terrible. I once wrote a college paper on gun control and had to introduce particular laws that while doing a bit of gun control it would still allow for the freedom to bear arms. I aced it. Too bad my teacher was the only one got to see it.

Them raccoons crack me up. They are some vicious, infested creatures and they are by no means shy. SO still complains about all the dohnuts they were eating when we pulled into camp. All gathered around the box, munching away. Must have been their dessert because they finished off pizza leftovers first. Still working on that room. I am waiting for shortcake to get out of school so he can put the first stroke of his paint choice on the last two walls.


Jan honey you really are endangering yourself and him. What if he had taken that pillow and covered your face with it? You honestly cannot have him at home. You are doing both of you a disservice. I know that there are extenuating circumstances to you feeling you have to but really you do not. You need to get your daughter to come stay with you or you stay with her. He needs to go somewhere that has 24/7 care. You are not it. You need to concentrate on your self. You need to come to a quiet peaceful place within yourself and you are by no means going to be able to do it this way. Stop trying to take responsibility. There are other ways.

my brain is telling me Jan does not have a daughter & Hank is not out of the VA NH. check the date she put down. keep in mind I'm serious about my brain not working too good these days!

sun is shining right now. won't last long but I love when it comes out even briefly. still far too cold to venture out.

housemate just got home with his new glasses. first time for him. I've worn glasses since 12 yr old.now at least one of us can see what critter is in the yard!

raccoons can be extremely vicious. not long ago a woman tried to save her little doggie & she ended up in hospital. they are too cute when young!

Jo, housemate watches all that crap on History Channel. I actually enjoyed Larry the Cable Guy until he went to see Sarah Palin. as for end of the world? even I know how stupid that is. (I do remember some of the Bible from childhood).

Chris, I'm totally with you on birth control,etc. have to admit I'm chuckling over the 3 ring circus right now. guess money can't buy votes eh?

Yes Pati, that post sort of sent me for a loop until I looked at the date. Poor Jan is warn slap out. Maybe she is trying to catch up on some rest, but starts talking in her sleep. I don't know of a daughter either and the whole post was posted when she first started with this last episode that landed Hank in the NH, called the Manor.

I do hope things are going well. I know that sounds dumb of me, but in situations like this we take any good we can find. Going to church was probably the most restful thing she has done in awhile. ((Love and prayers, Jan))

Why Christina, I know I was just watching the History channel and if they run out of American Pickers or Restoration they have to feel those spots with some such nonesence.

For as long as I live I have heard somebody say the world would end at such and such a date. So far I think I'm still here. If I remember right the time and date was not known by man, but it would happen sometime. I just felt too bad to change the channel and as far as the news, WHAT NEWS?? They print what they want and hope we are all gullible to know any difference.

Not feeling too good today either. I know it can always be worse. I pray Kat is doing better. I wonder how her DRs. appointment went. ((((Kat))))

hey everyone !

i noticed that date that jan wrote also, pati. i remember her mentioning hank had children and that one son had contacted her...but no daughter. i'm kind of concerned since jan has that medical problem and i forget what the status of that is, but i hope she's just tired out. jan, take it easy (((hugs))), hank is in the right place. it's hard the first few months when you put a loved one in a nursing home, i know from experience. lots of emotions swirling around. take care of yourself because there is nothing you can do for hank .

i took a mental health afternoon after i finished grocery shopping yesterday. i went and had my haircut and talked to the people in the salon. i love beauty salons...ever since i went to my first one when i was about 13. i was having my hair done for a special occasion and i just loved the pampering and atmosphere of a salon. yes, i enjoy being a girly-girl !

well, i hope this weather is for real and we don't get any frost. i think michigan's last day for frost is may 5th. i was outside in the yard today doing some raking and weeding and all of my plants have tender flower buds on them! even the rhododendrons. if there is a chance of frost, i have some burlap and some big plastic plant holders that i saved and i can put them over the plant for the night. i would hate for frost to kill the flower buds.

about your raccoon christina, that is no baby for sure. If there wre a tiny baby that needed caring for, I'd say take it and finish raisisng it if you had the time. Uncle once ran over and killed a mother raccoon when I was just some older than your boy. Mine was doll bottle fed and Pudding Baby made a delightful pet. Until she grew up then she would make day trips back to the hollow tree where she stayed often enough. Daddy would go get her, she'd climb down on his shoulder and ride there back to the house. I'd play with her and she'd stay until she got urge to leave again. Even after she was grown and we no longer played she would visit us on rainy nights and romp on the tin part of the house. Some of my fondest kid memories are of that raccoon, my cat and a tame chicken all chasing a feather on a string. Cheap but great fun for me. Wish we'd had such a thing called video camera back then so I could share the fun with others.

Big ones can more than hold their own with their teeth and claws!

Hi, everyone! I'm in memphis,tenn. Had a blast in new orleans! I just loved it there. We stayed last night at montgumery, alamba. Everything was closed because it was sunday so we didn't get to see anything. :(. We are finding out that things are closed here in memphis on mondays. But we are still going to beale street tomarrow. That's where all the action is suppose to be

In new orleans we were one block off of burbon street. We saw lots of action. I did get beads but I didn't lift my top for them. We had drinks two nights up on the balonies looking over burbon street so we were able to people watch.

Well i'm trying to catch up here with all of you!! Hope everyone feels better with the great weather that everyone is having.

Joy,thanks for sharing the story of the baby raccoon. even real small they stand on their hind legs & make a racket you can't believe to keep other's away.

Jeannie,good to hear from you. pampering is just what you need right now. and how are the kitchen plans coming along? did the neighbor's tree get removed?

I've removed all the small stuff from the back patio. am not gonna hold my breath about getting a roof put up. housemate insists the current roof & a wall have to be removed rather than just extend off the roof that covers the basement staircase. this is ridicules of course but I have no say in it.

hey everyone !

well, my forsythia bloomed yesterday, the last day of winter! i don't remember it ever blooming this early since i planted it about 25 years ago. this weather better stay above freezing!

the fallen tree is still there and it's going to be almost 3 weeks soon! i called detroit edison and it's on their "to do" list, but when i don't know. my neighbor is getting a bit put-out and she said she knew someone who worked at detroit edison and she was going to see if they could move it along. i hear chain saws around here every day, so a lot of branches or trees must have fallen on wires.

i am trying to winnow down the cost of the kitchen by slowly taking things out that i think i can live without. what i planned is my dream and my dream is a bit too expensive . so i will have to just come as close as i can.

i am in the midst of spring cleaning (as opposed to "winter cleaning") and i'm doing dusty blinds today. those cute little fuzzy, flat dusters that get right in between those slats are great!

dawn, sounds like you're having fun! you're traveling a lot this year!

my forsthynthia is also blooming. we can pretty much forget about the tulips blooming on time for the tulip festival.
