Agate, he sure is taking his time.

If anyone is reading and is going to be home on Easter Saturday night (like me) in case you want to watch it there is a movie coming on Lifetime Channel that I plan to watch. It is the life of Mahalia Jackson, a gospel singer. I think she came to fame in the 40s or 50s and I became aware of her during the civil rights era. She had a great voice and toured Europe and also sang at Carnegie Hall. The name of the movie is Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia. It is due to come on at 8PM Eastern Time. Don't know about you folks who are on Pacific Time.

Wonderful information...thanks. Yes, I remember her great voice. I do not get any Cale channels but have discovered that, eventually, I can watch almost anything through Amazon Prime...it costs me a few dollars to rent and once I start watching I have 48 hours to finish.

Also now I can rent a movie through their Early Access plan. I really do not care so much about when I see a new movie but I did watch a couple this way which is more expensive but I like having this option too.

Did you ever see “Trip to Bountiful”? Great movie to watch....

I'm sorry that you have a UTI, and I pray that the antibiotic clears it quickly. The UTI and the increase in your thyroid might explain the elevation in your BP.

Even if you think you may not be getting accurate readings, I recommend that you take your BP on a regular basis and record it as Linda suggested. You need a baseline to see whether your BP changes after you are on the antibiotic and the increase in your thyroid med.

When I thought about what might be different with you to cause this, I wondered about the COVID vaccine having some impact on your immune system or your thyroid, or your metabolism. I would guess that there is no data to correlate it to these things, but I tend to try to connect one thing to another, and I've been right quite a few times. Of course, I could be completely wrong here, but it is the one thing that has been different for you in the past month.

If you had a thyroid level test done prior to your vaccines, and another after your first dose, then your second, you might have more information about that being a possible contributor to your elevated thyroid level.

It would be wonderful, if this kind of data was being collected and reported so that studies could ensue to determine the effects of the vaccines on various underlying conditions. If every vaccinated person, who has hypothyroid, and/or is on a med for it, was studied, we might have an answer.

My prayers are with you ~ rest and relax as much as you can.

    Love & Light,

    Rose

I think he has occasional family get-togethers with a brother or sister or nephew, and it being the Easter weekend, maybe that's happening.

Rose, I hope the antibiotics kick in in a day or two. Not up to par with all that is going on at once. I have an idea about the thyroid. I was having my rxs filled at K-Mart for a number of years and they went out of business. When they did they automatically transferred all my prescriptions over to a Walgreens that was closest to them. It turned out I had to walk in from a parking lot and on bad days and rainy days it got kind of hard so I transferred all my prescriptions just down the road a piece where they have a drive thru.

When K-Mart transferred to the first Walgreens that Pharmacist asked me which pill I was taking the little round one or the oblong one. I told her the little round one and things continued on fine for awhile. By the way, she told me it made a difference. When I transferred to the one that had a drive-thru it had been so long since I was told that I had forgot all about it, so they are giving me the oblong ones when I had been getting the round ones. I think I will ask to be able to get the round ones again. The Rebif that I take lowers the thyroid, but not at the rate that mine has gone low by any means.

I have started checking my B/P, but think I will get a new B/P meter. I just have a feeling that mine is no longer working right. Even if I solved the mystery of the thyroid it still has to be gotten back into a good range. The mystery of the B/P is still on going, but remember I had a high reading in her office the last time I was there and that was before the vaccinations.

Linda, when you start to type a post and you're looking at the blank message window, there should be a pale blue bar above it with some symbols on it. Right now I'm seeing 2 symbols on the left: a camera (and if I hover over it it says "Share photos" and a chain link ("Post link"). On the right there are 3 symbols--something (I'm not sure what it is but it's for "Upload attachments), and a large A ("Toggle advanced editor"), and a smiley face ("Add smilies").

If you click on the large A, you'll bring up another bar (light gray) with alot of editing symbols--quotes, fonts, indent options, etc.

If you click on the large A again, you'll get rid of that gray editing bar and return to just having the blue bar with the 5 symbols on it.

Hovering a mouse over things is very helpful here. You can hover your mouse over any of the editing symbols if you want to know what you're looking at.

I did see this movie--and it was so good that I'd like to see it again. Thanks for mentioning it. I was running out of movies to request from the library or Netflix. I have those two ways of renting movies on DVD--and there's also the free streaming I can get on Kanopy. It seems to be available to anyone with a library membership.

Linda I have not seen "Trip to Bountiful", but I will look it up. I have Amazon Prime and Netflix. I will first see if I can find it on there, if not I will search elsewhere. Thanks!

Agate, thanks so much for out colorful Easter card. It is beautiful and I so enjoyed watching it.

I went to church this morning - in front of my TV. They had moved from the sanctuary to a school stadium so they could have people for Easter services. It was really neat. They used the bleachers on one side of the stadium. The minister was on a stage along with the organ (yes they actually had carried an organ there) and a keyboard for the piano player. They have an orchestra and it was located below kind of socially distanced and when playing only the strings had on their mask. This church has the most beautiful choir and many of them were there wearing some kind of special mask where the mouth part comes forward. You could hear them very well. Everyone in the bleachers were kind of distanced and wearing mask, plus it being outside the Minister said he felt this could safely be done. There were lots of people and I know they were all glad to see each other after more than a year. It is a beautiful N.C. day. It was in the mid 60s when it came on, the wind was blowing some, but the sun was shinning bright. They had tried to do this last Sunday for Palm Sunday, but it rained so the Minister moved inside with just the regular people, organist, pianist, and a couple of soloist to assist him.

Hope all of you are having a great Easter Sunday. I know Ann was planning to have MIL for Easter. Not sure if Linda is having company or if it is to be just she and John, but hope it is really nice.

Hope Howie's Nephew brought him a big Easter plate.

Linda, if you already have the Advanced Editor turned on, you'd be seeing a gray bar with all of the editing symbols just above the message window, and above the gray bar there would be the light blue bar (or maybe it's a very pale green--it's very pale in any case) that has the camera, the chain link, etc., and the "A." I can't figure out why you're not seeing it. If it's not there, I hope you'll let the admins know.

They have settings they can tinker with.

I watched "Trip to Bountiful". It was really a great movie. Geraldine Page did a really good job with her character. I would like to have put a gag in Jessie Mae's mouth. She was a pill. The young girl she met on the bus was someone I would have chosen for her son. Thanks for mentioning this movie.

Peter made an excellent salmon dinner for Easter with roasted Brussels sprouts, boiled white and purple potatoes, carrots, and sautéed mushrooms. I did the table, composed salads, rolls and dessert and all of the clean up.

The weather was perfect and Lily Cat decided to park herself on MIL after dinner. She loved it.

We are watching “Professor T” evenings. We get it through Amazon Prime but pay extra because it’s a PBS show.

                    Best to all,

                      "Professor T."?
Somewhere it mentions that he has several neurological disorders but they aren't named.

Ah, yes, he is quirky but I think the main thing has to do with his father and his father’s death when Professor T was around 7. His other behaviors also might be seen as similar to some seen in individuals with Asperger’s syndrome. He doesn’t want to be touched, hallucinates and is a germaphobic.

There are multiple versions of the show. We watch the Belgian one with subtitles.

I knew I was going to come on and hear about a wonderful Easter dinner. I didn't know if it would be just Ann or both Ann and Linda. It sounded really good Ann.

I have been eating more salmon lately. I buy mine frozen by Pier 3 Seafoods. I can get blackened or bourbon glazed. I prefer the bourbon glazed.
