Just curious, what side effects are you referring to from older beta blockers? I have some in my medicine cabinet and am not aware of side effects.

So this is a holiday weekend? I was up at 4am, but I think it's because I've been sleeping so well, lots of dreams.

So I took off at 7, took a bag of trash to the dumpster, then to the store for holiday refreshments. Came home, did the cat chores, and now having some coffee.

Hi kids,

I am thinking I need to have my AD meds adjusted. I am flat, that is I have no interest in anything, I have to make myself do anything.

Cherie HCTZ is a diuretic and it can have adverse affects on electrolyte levels. Specifically potassium. I take Bystolic 2 times a day and it is the most expensive med I take, even more than cholesterol meds. There is a different yet similar drug called Labetalol this is the one that they gave me in the hospital it is considerably cheaper. I need to talk to the doc about it as The Biostolic is $137 for 3 months. I also take clonidine, minoxidrl, Norvasc, nitroglycerin pills, as well as HCTZ/potassium. If I am having a BP flare then all bets are off they double up on several of them and add a couple more. With all that crap my best BP is 167/87 taken yesterday at my monthly Dr appt.

If the Minoxadrl sounds familiar it is has a side effect of causing hair to grow. I believe that is a gel applied topically. While my hair is turning gray (rapidity I might add) my hair line looks the same today as it did in my wedding pictures some 30+ years ago. In my salad days I was always accused of dying my hair black. Even up to about 10 years ago I had no gray and when we owned the bar it was a running joke that I had to dye my hair. And as my wife says my hair is BLACK a shade that is very unusual that it does look like it came out of a spray can.

Getting ready to take the motorhome out for a few days up to Brownlee reservoir we are taking the boat out, my wife has fair skin and so I bought a top for the boat. Crappie, Bass and Trout better look out! I finally figured out how to run our CPAP machines with out either having full hook up or running the generator all night. We are not leaving until Tues as then we miss the crowds.

Mid to upper 70's in the Spud State We have even had some rain over the last few days and cutting the irrigation down. I have 10 acres that are not rented and have there own irrigation pumps and sprinkler pipe (hand lines) so if someone needs some good bottom farmland with water let me know cause I DON'T want to farm it. Land in the wild west is useless without irrigation. A field left fallow for more than one season will revert back to the desert. You have to be careful as water right are not automatically transferred with you buy farm ground. More than one person has bought ground in the west and found out after they closed that they have no water. You may be allowed to punch a well but that will only allow household use and approx 60'X40' of a yard. I say MAY because sometimes that will either not be allowed or you have to go so deep that it is cost prohibitive.

Also had a check up on our oldest Mini Schnauzer, this is the one that fell off a cliff into the ocean during spring break. Two years ago she was in complete liver failure and had 3 to 6 months to live. The vet (a family friend) cant figure it out she is still sick according to the blood work and yet is just fine she will be 16 this fall. She barked and threw a fit the time I went into a coma from kidney failure and she did it again the night our hose caught on fire. Saved my life (literately) twice, made us a bundle of money with puppies and has sat next to me on the couch since the day I was Dx with MS.

That's exactly why I stopped an AD a long time ago, Gary, I had a death in the family, and I couldn't muster any emotion. I decided there were some events that were too important and that I needed to feel.

:) Hi everyone. I agree with Cherie that it is nice to have a photo of posters and that is a good photo Vicky.

Cherie and Gary I hope they can get your BP's stabilized.

Andy came Friday and sanded the back part of the house eave facure board and painted it and painted my mailbox post and box. Today he came and did the sanding and painting on the carport side. He also mowed the yard. Those two areas were where David had put temporary carports and attached them to the eave. Water had accumulated there and mildewed the boards.

Andy said they had Jamie up in a chair yesterday. He thinks she will be able to move easier when the staples are out of her back. She will eventually be going to rehab for sure.

The French Open tennis is on TV. I hope I can get it on weekdays on the computer. Have a good Memorial Day. Jeanie :)
