I used to have a housecleaner come monthly or bimonthly, and it really helped.
Mine was a referral from a friend, but I think a company like Molly Maid can be even better because they are really efficient, fast and experienced. They know what they're doing and waste no time doing it!
They can also be given a longer term schedule of irregular items, like cleaning out the fridge, oven or cleaning the kitchen cupboards every few months...that can be tremendously helpful too.
It alleviates a big headache and I really found it to be worth the money, even if it was just once a month, it was nice to have the place cleaned more thoroughly than I usually did, as clean as I typically kept it myself. Still, they got it even cleaner and always found places I'd forgotten.

CD - FURniture, lol
Cherie, hope you can get your bp under control. Hope the nephrologist helps too.
I'm to see an endocrinologist myself this week, as I seem to have a peculiar case of loss of body fat, they're surmising. So my adrenals and hormone levels are being checked as well. I'm not sure it's muscle loss or fat loss, and I wonder if it may be at all related to loss of innervation from central nerve damage. Strange, for sure. Not sure I've ever heard of anything like this before.
I don't know if I want it to be MS related or not. In one respect, I do, because I don't need other problems. But on the other hand, since there's not much to be done if it's MS-related, maybe I hope it's something else because then maybe it can be fixed. Unless it's cancerous, in which case, I'll prefer it's MS.

Did anyone do more than I did today, because if you didn't they need to just lower you into the ground!!! I am going to mow tomorrow, or the #$%^&* I already paid to do it will. The lesson learned.....NEVER pay until the job is finished.
Then Monday, I have to get my overdue car inspection, and hope I don't get pulled over in the process.
Watching JUNK on TV which is how the weekends usually are.

Howie, I think today I am doing less than you are doing. Nothing other than making and cleaning up breakfast and answering emails and playing games. Dave has 2 open houses today so I have the day and house to myself and since I cleaned yesterday and did laundry the day before, there is not a lot to do this lovely Sunday so I am kicking back and refuse to feel guilty about it.

I'm just trying to keep up....or slow down....like Cherie. She's a tough act to follow. I did get my grass cut. I just stayed in bed and listened!
Now if I could just get the cats to fix me something to eat, but when they do, I always find hair in it. I'm tired of coughing up fur balls!"Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Do you leave your outside shoes at the door? That would help reduce dirt and allergents from being tracked in. I don't remember doing it as a kid (though I know my farming friends would leave theirs in the mud room), but I now know a few people who are strict about it.Originally posted by Cherie View PostFunny...I needed a break from cleaning so sat down and started reading. Now that we know how allergic David is to dust mites and how much trouble he is having staying in the CPAP due to congestion, I do my best to stay atop the cleaning and dusting. Been at it for the past half hour and only have the bedroom, back hall and bathroom done (that includes dusting all flat surfaces and base boards and door trim and tops of door casings etc). Vacuuming is not my friend as it kills my back and hips so generally David does that but we are lucky if he gets to it every three or four weeks so I have been doing it anyway. With all the pets long having crossed the Rainbow Bridge it is better but we are still getting sand tracked in from winter traction control so there is still a lot of clean up.

BTW does anyone here use an air filtering device? Does it work for you?

Somebody STOP me!!! (from The Mask)
I went and got my car inspected, filled it with gas, then took a package to the post office, next the ATM and the grocery store. Cat chores are done, and I'm finished for the day except for eating.
Have a great day, and don't try to keep up with me, you'll only hurt yourself!

Is Howie trying to win some award for being a speed demon?
Parsi, I love that idea of not wearing shoes indoors. For many years I never my shoes indoors--just wore slippers. Then I got into trouble with the podiatrist about that and was told my arches would fall and all kinds of dire things would go wrong with my feet. So now I wear my shoes all day long. I still think it's a great idea for anyone who doesn't have a podiatrist getting in the way.
I don't know how many people here would remember Matt, who used to post here for quite a few years--? I just found out that in January he was hit by a car and killed. He was only 42, struggling with MS. I hope it's all right to post his obituary notice:

Agate, my doctor (not a podiatrist) claims it actually is BETTER to walk around with bare feet (except of course on gravel and other such skin-unfriendly surfaces). I never wear shoes in the house. There's a large mat by every entrance, and a chair, where people can remove boots and shoes before entering. I do have some inexpensive slippers that people can wear (they're machine washable) if they choose, but generally people just remove their shoes and pad around.
I'm sorry about Matt. I do vaguely remember him. Hit by a car...as if we don't have enough stuff to deal with......I am not a doctor nor medical professional, and don't pretend to be one, here... :o

I'd always understood that going barefoot or at least without regular shoes was beneficial, and I found it helpful because shoes can be heavy enough to cause me to trip.Originally posted by Cat Dancer View PostAgate, my doctor (not a podiatrist) claims it actually is BETTER to walk around with bare feet (except of course on gravel and other such skin-unfriendly surfaces). Diabetic feet seem to have problems of their own. The podiatrist is in the picture only on account of the diabetes.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.
