I wasn't upset. I just found it odd that so many people in the "real world" automatically think drugs when they think of rehab as though that's the only type.

:) Hi everyone. Thanks for all your kind words and emails. Andy went home at 3 and I laid down for a nap and just woke up. I am very, very tired so I am going back to bed.

My left leg is hardly working at all and transferring is hard so I KNOW I need a lot of rest. Thank God I can do that for a few days. I even have enough food to last a few days.

Gary no more falling. Please use the walker or a cane until you are back up to your par. Sally do the PT you can do by yourself in between the therapist visits. I am going to be doing that again too as I want my strength back some.

Goodnight everyone. Have a good weekend. Jeanie :)

You know Vicky it never occurred to me how the perception of people is so different (between regular people and those with a chronic illness) I am probably guilty of it myself. I am going to try to stop.

Jeanie I say you are why overdue for some down time. Howie post says it Beautiful.

Suzi I was walking along and the next thing I was sitting on the floor wondering how I got there. My BP was pretty normal (well for me) and no recent med changes. So unless it happens again I will wait and and tell the doc when I go in next week. You know now that I am over that UTI I just down feel right. Not sick just off my feed. I am wondering if I need a change in the AD's I take. I am guessing here but I gotta wonder if they don't work as well after a few years. I hate to change (imagine that!) meds. And it takes so long for the AD's to take effect. But considering how bad I felt before them I am willing to change.

Agate I have never experienced that before I am like Suzi said I kinda have an inkling or feel it getting ready to happen. This was just slipping on ice you know, You.Just.Go.Down and I just have never lost my legs like that. I feel ok and thank goodness not a scratch on me. I will admit that over the years I have developed a decidedly ungraceful fall I usually try to just fall down and not go through acrobatics trying to hold myself up.

                    Boys will be boys.

Not to change the subject, but is Cat Dancer recovering from her cataract surgery pretty well?

And Gary, falling gracefully is truly an art. I'm still working on perfecting my technique.

Anyone who wants to see the Super Moon, it will be visible on the East Coast around 10pm and will last an hour. It's been raining here most of the day, so I can only hope it has cleared off a little by now.

Jeanie, been off the computer for a few days and honestly when I came back tonight I had you on my mind. I was anxious to see how things were. I am so very sorry for everyone involved and most especially for Andy. I am concerned for you and hope that you get some rest. I know as a Mother you are concerned about Andy. With some time, he will begin to heal some. As you know it does take time. It was a beautiful tribute to Jamie that he wrote, and certainly a testimony of their love for one another. Thank you for including us in all that has happened with Jamie and Andy. We support you in prayers and thoughts.

Gary, sorry you are still not up to par. Stay off the floor!!! Actually, I have never fell gracefully yet. You might want to share that little secret. Usually it scares me so bad, even when I come close to falling, that I kind of freak out. Hope you get checked out soon. You may be right about AD needing to be changed, but then again it might be something else. Surprised your ever diligent daughter has not been riding you big time about this.

Howie, I am not going to comment on that one liner you kind of snuck in. Oh well, guess I just did by mentioning it.

Hope Cat's eye is improving some. Can't remember when other one was to be done. Cat, whenever it happens I hope you get 100% improvement.

Agate, do not work on falling gracefully, just do not fall at all.

Sally, hope all is going well with you and your care giver.

Suze-Q thank you for writing such a lovely post to Jeanie. It said so much for all of us.

                        Where is Renee?

Ann, Cherie, Parsi and all others hope you are doing well.

Jeanie get a good night's rest. We are here for you.

Um, I sorta haven't mentioned it to Nurse Ratchet although son is over at her house playing cards tonight and I am sure I will be busted been waiting for a text from her! As silly as this sounds I (try to anyway) relax and just drop to the floor. Most importantly I don't grab at anything to try to hold myself up. For me anyway tensing up or trying to hold my weight up while falling just makes it worse. It doesn't always work but like Suzi I usually have a feeling that I am going to fall.

Now that you mention it, Gary, I think I heard somewhere that if you feel you're on your way down, it's best to stay loose if you can. Just relax and ease into the fall?

                            Easier said than done, probably.

Thank you for thinking of me. Good news -- the eye is doing well, and I can read more clearly without glasses (with that eye) than with them. Lines, are still wavy, but my vision definitely is clearer and better each day. Second surgery is on October 8. So I'm hopeful it will go as smoothly and over time my vision will improve some more. Won't ever be 20/20, but good enough to read easily again.

A scary period of time is coming up: I'll be home alone Thursday through Sunday, first time in two years. I will have a visiting nurse and home aid on Friday, and nurses on call, but that's it. Ill have to dress myself, change the catheter bags, get up and get back in bed myself. I pretty much do this now, but Tom cat is always standing by if I get into trouble. Now he won't. Big issue is toleting-- and what I will have to do if I have to do that with no one here. I'm hoping to go potty on Wednesday, before he leaves, then in Friday before the bath lady and nurse come, then Sunday night when he gets home.... good plan, but sketchy on the execution...

Then Monday Tom cat has to see his hematologist/oncologist for another blood draw, and a conference call with mayo clinic. Also scary, g or him for sure, and for me.

For now, he's planning his trip, and I'm trying to stay out, of the way while practicing dressing myself, and transferring. Such fun...
