I know sometimes I don't hit the "Thanks" button because I forget. HEY, I have MS! But when I reread it, which I always do later on, I will hit the "Thanks" button showing I read it.

That's been on my mind for awhile. If I didn't hit the "Thanks" button on a post you made, I just forgot, which I do quit often these days. If I disagree, I will definitely say something.

I just wish more felt free to post! We don't bite.....well maybe Linda does!
I agree with Howie. I Read every post on on BT at lease on the MS board. I also have a bad habit of not remembering to like every post but rest assured I read all of them.

Had a rain squall blow through this morning. We must have gotten at least .10 of an inch with in about 1/2 an hour it rain so hard that it shot off the roof and over the top of the rain gutters. Now there are clouds at the horzion but mostly blue skies. 66 deg for a high today and 80 by Sunday.

I read all the posts too, sometimes more than once. I only say "thanks" if I agree with a post not just because I've read it. I'm strange that way (others too).

        You're strange? Where's that AGREE button.....I don't see it.....

I agree with Howie. I do use the Thanks button (like Howie, when I remember). However, if I forget I have still read the post, but when I use it I am in affect saying that I have read the post. If I disagree with it or have something to add, like now, then I post what I want to say. I think a Dislike button would be confusing for many people. We would not know what the person dislikes on a forum like this. Facebook is different from this kind of forum. We often post in detail here, and also it might be confusing for any new people that might come along.

Agate, I had heard on the news about the lady in California who had MS and died in the fire. We will never know where she was coming from when she refused the neighbor's help. I think she thought the emergency people would get to her in plenty of time and there is a possibility that her movements were so slow and awkward that she felt it was unnecessary to hold her neighbor up to help her get either out of her house or in a vehicle. We just don't know, but we just know that it was sad. MS happened to be her problem, but there are other things that keep people from walking and getting around.

Along the lines of your neighbor who was so disabled, yet lived at home. My nephew knows a man, and I have seen him sitting at the bar of a restaurant that I go to with my family, who has lost both legs all the way up above the knees. He uses a wheel chair that he can push a leaver and make it go up. He does this in his vehicle and transfers chair and himself into his vehicle then transfers out, lowers the chair, goes into the restaurant to the bar, raises the chair to the height of the bar and has a couple of drinks, then repeats the process when he leaves. Everyone in the bar knows him and this is his way of socializing. I can't remember how he lost his legs. I told my nephew that chair and vehicle he has must have cost a fortune.

Suze-Q, I think you have about talked yourself into trying the job. I can't remember if you said when it was going to start. The sprained ankle was along the lines of saying that you had noticed a weakness in your left leg. I was hoping they would assume it was in connection with what happened to your left shoulder. I think getting out and doing it would be good for you if you can. Just don't get into a situation where you feel overwhelmed.

Sally, we haven't heard how the interview with the in-home 24/7 providers went. Please let us know. I hope you can do this and as we have mentioned before, also get all the free in-home care you can get so that you can keep getting all the PT you possibly can. As Agate said, don't let what happened to the lady in California keep you from doing anything. That was a very rare case and circumstances. If you go home just do all that you can to be as safe as you can be.

So Cherie, you say you are a big girl who can travel all by yourself. Well, guess you have kind of proven that with all the driving back and forth you have done to your parents. Guess we will have to trust you on that.

Jeanie, hope things are going as well as they can with Jamie. I also hope you are getting plenty of rest.

Hi Vicky, Ann, Parsi, Gary and all others.

:) I took Jamie to be disconnected from the chemo and they gave her a shot. She had a lot of nausea and felt bad. We go back tomorrow as they want to give her an IV of some of the things she is low on.

It is harder on Andy, her mom and me since she refuses to have any aides. Andy makes two trips to the apartment to get her in the wheelchair and out of it when we get home. She was very sleepy this afternoon and said she would be ok by herself as she wanted to sleep. so I left about 3:30. Andy would be home at 5:30.

I got some new antiembolism hose and they are much more comfortable than the ones I had. Also I have one corn between my toes and it hurts in the old ones as they squeezed my toes more. Now that pressure is reduced and much more comfortable.

Poor Lacy has been home by herself as we have been having daily thunderstorms and she hides and shakes. I'm not sure how long I can keep this schedule as it is almost daily going. I am very tired. Y'all all take care. Jeanie :)

Hi Jeanie, you are indeed a busy woman. I couldn't do a fraction of what you do!

Dogs and thunder. I've never seen one that didn't cower at the sound. I think because of their super hearing, they hear far beyond what we do and actually hear the lightning as it crashes through the air, then the resulting thunder. Not having their hearing must be a blessing.

Cats and thunder....they could care less. "Now get out from under that table, and get us some Whisker Lickin's human!"

3 of my four kids hate thunder, and especially hate lightning, when it occurs at night. They'll head for the closet and cower there for the length of the storm, and up to a half hour past. Then come creeping out, looking around, watching to see if there are any more flashes. The fourth cat sits in the window and watches all the commotion. :)

I've got a couple weeks of training and other work for them where I can learn more specific details and see if I think I am able to do it without putting them in a difficult position, or feel trapped and unable to do it myself. Up to the end of this month, they could still find someone else if I didn't feel I could do it.

So, I'll try the fampyra med and learn more details, and hopefully be able to make a decision I'm comfortable with without shutting it down prematurely, or getting in over my head with no way out.

                    Thanks everyone for your help!

Such sad news about that woman in the California fires. Good reminder to ensure an emergency plan is in place, and those who need to be notified, are. Thoughts and condolences to her family and friends. She sounds like a wonderful free spirit in spite of her physical limitations.

Jeanie, don't do too much and put your own health at risk, ok? You need to take care of yourself too. You are doing an amazing job supporting Jamie.

Interesting that Vicky only "likes" a post if she agrees with it. I use it too as an acknowledgement that I've read it fully. A "dislike" button is good too, but also a "support" button, kinda like how many of us are using our "like" button, as empathy or acknowledgement of the subject of what a person has written.

Suze I admire anyone who at least tries. Only you know your abilities and or limits and some times you just don't know until you actually try. I am always worried about the fatigue it seems at least in my case that I don't realize how tired I really am until its too late and I have made myself sick. I try to limit myself to say 2 hours tinkering around in my shops. I loose track of time and all of a sudden its 3 hours and I realize that I am REALLY tired and can hardly make it back to the house.

I also still feel embarrassed that I cant do something that I feel that I should be able to do. And of course I look so good how can I be sick?!? No one in my family ever accuses me of being "lazy" as a matter of fact they are the first ones to say that I shouldn't be outside when its hot and the first thing out of my wife's mouth is "make sure that you are not over doing it". My daughter is much more vocal about it and my son will just come up and start helping.

Anyway.... today the weather is perfect 70 degrees and sunny. It is suppose to get up to 81 on Sunday. I am going to putter around this afternoon and get some vitamin D. I have an idea to rig up a snow plow on the 4 wheel drive pick up that I bought from my MIL estate. My FIL had wanted a diesel 4 wheel drive truck so he found one that was lifted and I overhauled the engine and transmission, he got sick and it sat for about 5 years, my MIL wouldn't sell it as he had way more in it than was worth. I never could convince her that it was a toy and it made him happy to have it. I needed it like a hole in the head but I just couldn't let it go for scrap. So we bought it. I start it and drive it to exercise the battery.

Anyone need potatoes? I planted way too many Reds and an heirloom purple variety. I never needed to spray them for bugs this year I will have to dig them by hand as none of our equipment can dig them in such a small area. I would buy a digger if I could find one but people use them for yard decorations and don't want to sell them.

Purple is my favorite color but I think it would be cheaper to get them at the store than to have you ship them to me.

Well I could fry them first and turn them into chips. Less water less weight. I am always thinking. Just not very clearly.

I worked out in the shop for awhile today And I took the dogs with me. My daughters dog is visiting while they go to the coast for a couple of days. Her dog and our male found a place to take a nap in the shop but I lost our 2 old ladies I looked everywhere and I finally went up to the house to get my son to help look for them as they are both old, don't get around very well and cant hear anything unless it is a shotgun blast. Well they were both sleeping on the grass by the back door waiting for someone to let them back inside the house. And by the way one of the cats was curled up with the oldest dog as she sleeps with her almost every night.

:) Hi everyone. Today is my son Jim's 54th birthday.

I just called Andy and he had to have Jamie admitted to Hospice at 3 in the morning. She had not had much to eat or drink for 2 days as she was nauseated. During the night she began throwing up.

The oncologist had said her stomach also had some cancer. I do not think she will make it very far as she is so weak and pale.

I am going up there and will post later any changes. Prayers please. Thanks, Jeanie :)
