That is great Agate, but I still don't understand how you are walking that much if the pedaling machine does not count. If the weather is hot how can you go out and do it?

I wear the pedometer all during the day, and the steps being counted are the steps in just routine activities. They do add up.

I hardly ever walk outdoors any more. With winter weather and then the fall I had, it just hasn't been very possible though I did walk outside a bit recently.

I walk around the building, and even when I don't do that, in the course of a typical day I rack up quite a few steps, just doing housework and laundry and so on.

Here it is, and I'm just sitting down with my coffee. I got the car serviced, and new inspection sticker, then the bank for $, then to the store. Home, started coffee, put everything away, and that's MY walking for the day. Sippppp.....

Thank you, Froggie, for bringing the discussion around to what's really important. If those cats are going without, we should definitely know about it.

Ghost cats? Just the thought gives me a chill!

Let's see.....at the store, I got their dry food, and their clumping litter, and their treats, and (whispering so Sam doesn't hear) cheese, and sliced turkey...their new favorite, that's MY sliced turkey I never get to eat.

Fuzzy little devils have it made around here!

In my next life I plan to be one of Howie's cats. I love snacks!!

Agate, now you've got me interested in getting a pedometer and maybe I might get a peddler. I have been putting that off due to other expenses right now, but could do it. I really wonder how many steps I take per day, but I don't think it is as many as you do most days and yet I also do laundry, keep house, cook and all those things. Maybe on the days I go to the grocery store I might, but just here at home I doubt it. I guess I do get some exercise. I steam mop the two downstairs bathrooms and the kitchen floor. Now that I have a lady that comes in every other Tuesday, I only do that every two weeks. I was doing it weekly. However, since I have tile in these rooms I like the steam mop, but it is not like having to mop and rinse floors the way I use to do.

Now I am so curious I think I will order me a pedometer. I wonder how you know they are accurate?

Howie, I believe Virginia wanted cat treats....

Virginia, I have a Yamax DigiWalker pedometer and got it because it had good accuracy ratings, but others are high rated too, at least according to this:

They can be pretty accurate, and you might be surprised to find that you take more steps on a typical day than you realized.
