Cat, I didn't watch one second of it. I don't even know what channel it was on. I find sports boring.

Well, there are sports and then there are sports. I dislike most team sports, maybe partly because my eyes are too slow to follow the *#$%^ ball, and I have trouble getting all fired up with enthusiasm about whether "my" team wins. Except if it's the Chicago Cubs of course.

But sports where people are doing amazing things, like breaking a record swimming or in gymnastics--that can be exciting.

I would still enjoy watching Drag Racing, but it's never on the TV I watch. It must be boring for someone that's not a motorhead like I am. Two cars line up, and a few seconds later, it's over. I've drag raced both on a legal drag strip, and an illegal highway, but both were fun.

I don't watch the round and round racing either. To me, that's boring. Go figure!

:) Hi everyone. I guess I will get the results of the tests when I go for the liver ultrasound Thursday.

Virginia I think Wendy's chili is passably good. Also you can go through the drive thru and get it.

I don't can anything but I am filling my freezer with cut up mangoes. I keep a bag by the front door as about 10 people have stopped and asked if they can pick some. The tree in the back yard is loaded still and you can see them from the street. I have given away probably 25 bags full.

Another lady stopped a while ago and it woke me up. I gave her the bag by the door. I don't want anyone going in my back yard as they would probably sue if they got hurt. All the mangoes still on the tree are up high. Andy uses a telescoping pole with a basket on the end. Andy cuts and bags some each time he is here. Jeanie :

Hi Jeanie! Can you freeze them? They are so juicy, I don't think you could slice and freeze them. You are VERY generous with your mangos.

I like Winter Olympics more than the Summer ones.

Jeanie, thanks for reminding me that Wendy's does have chili. I will remember that next time I am out and about and want to bring something home to eat.

Sounds like you are enjoying your mangoes. I think Howie and I decided they were too much trouble. Howie, was that mangoes we tried when we had all that discussion going on before? I guess if they grow free in your yard in such an abundant supply that would be different. Jeanie, by freezing you can enjoy all year.

Old Rosemary Clooney song comes to mind:

Mangoes, papaya, chestnuts from the fire
In my house of straw I have so much more
Pie from the peach and I fix in the kitchen
Each bite is just right for your appetite
Now if you like-a the way I cook
And if you like-a the way I look
Then step inside my shady nook
And you'll find mangoes and papayas, anything your heart desires
Mangoes, papaya, chestnuts from the fire
The food is so good, you will want to stay
Eat up and drink up and maybe you'll think up
The day when we say preacher man okay
Now if you like-a the way I cook
And if you like-a the way I look

Actually, I'm here to make a report, my antenna report. All my antennas are hooked up. I have two you see them advertise on TV for $10. I hooked those up last night.

I now get 50 channels. Many are duplicates, but if there is a storm or something, I can change it to a different sorce, but the same programming. I watch...or listen, to TV all day, and it's nice to have a choice.

The only bad thing is there may be 3 movies on at the same time, so I have to quickly decide which one I want to watch.

                    Best of all, IT'S FREE!!!

Agate, I thought I knew all the Rosemary Clooney songs, but I didn't remember that one.

Howie, so proud of you for getting you antennas all put together. Now even Vicky can't fuss with you.

                            Hi Peg!

Well....I was baaad yesterday. The weather is so much better here beginning yesterday and I felt so much steadier than I have in awhile. Still not feeling well, but better. Sooooo, I called a boutique that I have shopped at since back in the early 80s. There is one lady who always helps me and (kind of) knows what I like. I asked if they had gotten their sweaters in for Fall and Winter. She said yes and that I should come soon. Last year they sold out because I waited until up in September. Anyway, I went and got 4 sweaters, a white turtleneck, a light pink turtleneck, a royal blue V-neck and a new white cardigan to take in Fall and Spring to restaurants.

I didn't need many slacks, but could not resist one pair, they are black with a tiny little white pin stripe. Well then she showed me a solid black long vest that goes beautifully with the pants. It is not one that buttons, but hangs loose like a jacket with no sleeves. I just had to have it. I can wear it with lots of things. I also bought two new belts - one wide and one narrow.

So, now all is bought for the upcoming season. I will look and see if I can find a pair of shoes to order, but I am through. Kind of nice. My credit card doesn't come until the end of the month, so I can take what is left over from this month and put it with some from next month and pay everything off. If I can't pay it off then I try never to use my credit card. I don't want to pay interest on anything if I can help it.

I've got housework that needs to be done today and tomorrow is Doctor's appointment and hopefully Thursday I can finish up what I need to do in the house.

Congratulations on getting some new threads, Virginia! Wear them in good health!

We may have one or two more days in the low 80s and then we'll be back up in the 90s again.

Yesterday at long last the housing recertification process ended as I signed the papers. My rent went up $15/month, which is a steep increase, but that's what happens when you haven't had huge dental expenses or had to buy pricey glasses in the last year. In the past those two expenses were so high for me that they kept the rent down.

If you're healthier here, you pay a higher rent. I'll gladly pay the higher rent.

I'm not sure glasses need to be quite as pricey as they are. Mine tend to be costlier because bifocals cost extra, and they're so thick that they have to be "rolled and polished" (extra charge) and done up in "high-index plastic" (extra charge).

This year my rx hadn't changed much (hooray!) and I opted just to get rx sunglasses without bifocals and using my old rx sunglasses frames. So the cost was several hundred dollars less than it often is.
