    Sally likes the month,
    that she got wed.
    Spent most of the month,
    cuddling in bed.

I love reading the news online. You know the self driving cars are the big news. It shows some guy driving one, and all he is doing is watching the road, ready to grab the wheel and hit the brakes. A bad idea, and will be until it is PERFECT, and it's a LONG way from that. How about teaching humans to be safer drivers?

I SO agree Howie about the cars, but try telling that to the very young. After all, are they not completely invincible?

:) I wished Cherie a Happy Birthday by email and she wrote back saying to say hello to everyone. She and Gary both post a lot on Facebook.

I will not get the results of the ultrasound until next Monday.Jeanie :)

I'm going to try to find a video showing someone driving one of these self-driving cars. I can now (finally) watch videos without having the picture and sound break up on me!

But if it's a self-driving car, why does a person need to drive it? I wouldn't feel comfortable if I had to grab the wheel and hit the brakes. I thought I could just sit there and let the thing drive itself.

I figured I'd get in--and the wheelchair lift would raise me in the wheelchair somehow without human intervention--the door would shut, and a seat belt would attach itself to me by dropping down from somewhere, and my destination would already be entered into the car's system, and the vehicle would start driving.

Some sensor would help it to navigate through traffic and stop at stoplights and find the best lane to be in.

Then it would have to find a parking space, and this is where my mental scenario fails me. Will it try out one parking space and move to another when that one is too small? Or will it plow on into that space and take some pieces out of the other parked cars that are on either side?

Jetsons met the Jetsons..... It has a LONG way to go. But they won't wait until a few innocent people are killed, and then it MIGHT slow it down. I like to drive! Look at Pinky, that will be a real relic one day. A car you could kill yourself in, and it would be your fault, and not the car's.

I watched the last one, and it looks wonderful, the guy just hanging out in the back seat, but notice, it HAS someone sitting in the driver seat. Not ready yet.

I've heard that for a while there will be another human on board to monitor things.

                        This would be me:

I wonder how it would respond to something like a child chasing a ball dashing in front of it suddenly. How about another human opening their car door just as you drive by. I've had that happen.

I don't think we're close to robot cars yet.

That poor lady would be dead from a heart attack before she ever got to her destination. Like said, we aren't close yet. It only has a chance of working if ALL cars are self driving. And Pinky hates the idea. She likes the way I shift gears.

Supposedly it has sensors detecting every little bump in the road that make it slow down or stop to avoid hitting things. I'd have trouble trusting the sensors. Gee, human beings can't always be relied on. Why should sensors that were invented by humans be any more dependable?

                                Jeanie-

Thanks for letting us know about Cherie & Gary.
I hope your ultrasound is OK.
