I've always loved that song. I remember when it came out. Those were the days of AM radio, and when they would play it over the loud speakers at the pool I LIVED at, and the whole pool would come alive. Look at young Ozzy!

Me too. This is what I was listening to when the other girls were into David Cassidy and Donny Osmond.

My mother remembered when these were in common use. Very simple, no cords involved. You heated them up on the stove. You did have to use a towel or a potholder to hold them because they were usually iron throughout and got quite hot. A nuisance though because they also cooled off fairly fast and you had to heat them up again.

Vicky, I always knew you were a rockin' rollin' hip chick! Rock on!

Agate, I have an iron used a few times at most, by a guest I had. I'm like Ann, I don't believe in ironing. I would have given it to you.

At this time of day, and in this heat, I went to the dump and grocery store. I'm set until next week!

Howie - you read my mind. I don't believe in ironing but grew up ironing everything.

Agate - I have my Great Aunt Christine's iron that is like that in your picture except thicker.

I've seen an iron like that somewhere. I think a grandmother had it, and now my sister has it on a shelf. A display of times gone by.

My granny had an old washing machine until her death that washed the clothes, then you fed each into 2 rollers that squeezed the water out. a Singer I want to say, but it was long ago, and now I'm her age when I first saw her wash clothes.

                  The perfect circle.

                  (Vicky, ever heard that band?)

What band? The washing machine band?

I looked up Perfect Circle and see they're musicians. I've never heard any of their songs.

You would like them I'm sure. Not hard, or soft, just creative musicians.

They don't seem to be charging for this one ("Judith"):

Thanks Agate. I was just listening, and let the songs run, and I guess they might be considered Hard Rock. I had never heard some, like the remake of John Lennon's "Imagine". But compared to the Rock I grew up with, they are middle of the road Rock.

Well, I'm a real rocker, I'm headed to bed at 9pm. I hate it, but my sleep cycle is all over the place. Good night all!

If I can bring up this topic again, I didn't know that someone was in a fatal accident recently involving a Tesla on Autopilot. I hope someone will let me know if this link won't work. It's a New York Times article, and I can see about getting it here in some other way if necessary:
