      I know that song!

      How dry I am,
      How wet I'll be,
      If I don't find,
      The bathroom key.

      I found the key,
      It fit the door,
      Now I don't have,
      To pee no more.

No, Sally, not kidding. My dad was a draftsman at Westinghouse (as was my Mom during the war). There was a Westinghouse Company Store. We got them from there. And, they came w plastic Westinghouse Washer & Dryer salt & pepper shakers which I have.

Hope you have some company today besides us.

They have some on eBay if you ever need to find some!

Thanks, Vicky! Mine are tucked w my other S & P shakers in the china cabinet: the family turkeys, snow people, bunnies ;-), and the ice cream cones my dad bought out of a florist's window for my mom.

How much are the W & D salt and pepper shakers worth, Vicky?

Not a whole lot. I think they started at under $10. If I had some I think I'd just keep them as a curiosity.

How about a 1988 1 Oz. American Gold Eagle coin?

You're not going to get much salt out of one of those, Howie!

Darn, and I've been trying to for so long. Guess I'll just throw it in the trash!

A lot would depend on the condition, but if it's fairly nice then most of them start a bit above $1000 and go up. You gonna sell yours or trying to buy one?

No, not selling. This one is in the felt box uncirculated, with the papers describing it. I look at Monex about once a week to see what it's worth. My dad collected coins, so I have a whole safe full. Yes, I have a safe.

It almost hit $2000 under Bush, but dropped down under Obama. It's weird to watch how politics and the value of gold and silver change with the party in control.

One strange coin I found in change from shopping is a copper nickel. I looked it up online, and it's a coin struck while just copper as all coins are, but it escaped the nickel plating process. It is worth $200 to $500. It made those Whisker Lickin's a good buy that day!
