The value of currency depends far more on the state of the sore than on who is in the white house. Values can change depending on wars, threats of wars, peace treaties, elections in gold and silver producing countries, mine disasters, ....and sometimes just on perception. If the market watchers think it's more or less valuable, it becomes that. Strange.
Cat, did someone say something before you? Oh well.
It is strange to see how much prices fluctuate. I'll bet it really went up after 9/11. I wasn't really watching coins back in those terrible days. Or during the hunt for Bin Bignose.
We see so much news happen the older you get.

Cat, I hope the pre-surgery doctor visit went well. I think it was today?
I'm watching "Forsyte Saga," an old PBS series I never watched but heard a lot about at the time.
I just finished watching a documentary from 1982, "Koyanisqaatsi: Life Out of Balance." The title is a Hopi word. There's no dialogue or talking in the entire movie but the visuals are really spectacular and mesmerizing. Musical score by Philip Glass--it takes some getting used to but by the middle of the movie I was able to tolerate it and even thought it was effective in adding to the impact of the film. It wouldn't be everybody's cup of tea but it spoke to me.
Something else about Uber's self-driving cars--the one described in the article had two humans in the car just monitoring it, plus the passenger:
Hi.. Agate,, everytime, she takes a step forward, its 2 steps back,,her temp for 3 days, was 104,, and they found a virus on her lungs, cultures taken,,we just keep hoping for the best..
Pre surgery doctor visit was uneventful. Routine. I was a bit worried about my blood pressure as it has been fluctuating a bit lately, moving into th high range once or twice, but the doc reviewed my files where the visiting nurses had charted it, and had no concerns whatever. So the botox shots are on for Monday.
We did get a bit is a scare driving back from the doctor. Got about a block away when all the brake lights came on in the car! Tom Cat thought he'd left the emergency brake on, or partially engaged, but no. Then thought we were losing brake fluid, but the brakes all seemed to be working. So we aborted our planned lunch and shopping and came directly home (25 miles). Tom Cat called our local mechanic and took the car in. Turns out there could be two things wrong: either a cable has broken to the brake sensor box -- $50 fix, or the box itself has to be replaced --$250. Either way, it is safe to drive the car, but the lights will come on until it's fixed. We've got tons of stuff to do between now and October 3....or at least Tom Cat does...so he has an appointment for the 5th for them to fix it. This is the only car I can presently get in to, so I'm glad it's ok to drive until then!
Just be careful someone doesn't run into the back of the car because the brake lights were always on, and they might not know you are stopping.
The days of cheap parts are long gone unless you drive an antique car like Pinky. It has one brake switch. $2.50. You press the brake pedal, the pedal pushes the switch, and the brake lights come on.
Oh the days of simplicity.
Good luck with your surgery Cat, I hope it turns out GREAT, and then some!

One other useless car fact came to mind. I've never pushed the emergency brake in the PT Cruiser! I never felt the need to. It's an automatic, and when you shift into park, it's not going anywhere........I hope.
One strange coin I found in change from shopping is a copper nickel. I looked it up online, and it's a coin struck while just copper as all coins are, but it escaped the nickel plating process. It is worth $200 to $500. It made those Whisker Lickin's a good buy that day!
NEWS FLASH:
