Kind of like roller skating, was it, Howie?

I just got back from a grocery store trip, and it's 93 degrees out! I usually go early before it gets hot, but sort of as an endurance test, I decided to go.
I hope this worked out well for you. I avoid anything faintly resembling an endurance test.

Howie, we beat you. We were at 96 degrees today. I don't know what heat index was. I have appointment and have to go out tomorrow and it is supposed to be even hotter. So guys if I just disappear you will know that the heat got me.

You be careful out there. This time of the year can be downright dangerous.

                Hello my fine feathered friends!

I stayed up until 5am watching TV. I was bound and determined to watch Sea Hunt which comes on at 4am. And it was two, back to back. I have the whole series on DVD, but still.......

Then at noon, the phone rang but I didn't answer. As usual, I couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and made coffee and fed Sam her sliced turkey. When settled again, I looked to see who had called, it was my sister, so I called her back and chatted a while.

My brother may call tonight, or not. He always call me, I never call him and it's fine with me. He's always doing something, and I never am....except for spoiling Sam.

Another month is moving along. They can't move fast enough for me. I love Fall, I can hopefully try to drive Pinky. I always say that, but never do....sniff.

                Everyone have a great weekend!

I've watched two really terrible movies lately and am ready for a better one. I still have a few to choose from among the month's supply.

If you're curious, the two terrible movies (IMHO) were "Wall Street" and "Blood Simple."

Today I tried the new washers and dryers here for the first time. They're a lot like the old ones and not the high-tech objects I was afraid they'd get. They work really well!

I've seen photos of laundry rooms in some apartment buildings, and the machines look as if you'd need to take a course to learn how to use them. They're bristling with buttons and lights and beeping things.

Agate, I've seen Wall Street if that's the one with Tom Cruise in it, and Blood Simple sounds familiar, but not sure I've seen it.

Something that's slipping away is film names, and being able to name a film star by seeing their face. These days it's just "Oh, there's what's his face!"

I usually don't know one film star from another either except for those that were popular years ago. I'd know Marilyn Monroe and James Dean anywhere. I don't believe I've ever seen a movie with Tom Cruise in it though I've heard the name. No, "Wall Street" doesn't involve him. Michael Douglas, Charlie Sheen, Martin Sheen, and others. There's a sequel apparently but no Tom Cruise there either.

                      (I'm skipping the sequel.)

NEVER seen Tom Cruise??? He's only been in a thousand movies. But I haven't seen many new movies lately, but have seen many stars mentioned online, and don't have a clue who they are.

I just finished a talk marathon with my brother. It gets hard to do sometimes because I can't hold the phone but to one ear because of not hearing well out or my left one.

This coming week, I'm going to try hooking my headset to the phone. I have a headset, but need an adapter to hook it all together. That would be easier than talking on this cellphone.

I haven't eaten yet, but will in a little while. Until then, I'm eating peanut butter and beer. Yum!

None of the ones mentioned here?

Thanks, Vicky! Seems I have seen one of those movies--"Born on the Fourth of July"--but it was back in 2004 and apparently it left little impression on me. I rated it a 5 (of a possible 10). I don't recall Tom Cruise at all.

I watch movies other people don't watch, I guess.

Well, one out of 1000 isn't too bad. In the 4th of July movie, he was the main character that was crippled in Vietnam. I've seen about half his movies listed.

My favorite type of movies are Science Fiction, or Horror, or any combination of those. But romance, and love stories.....YUCK! Chic Flicks! But I've seen films like Romancing the Store that I thought were really good films.

And I've seen a bunch of others I'm not sure would fall in any category. I like movies.

I don't watch movies much at all. I've,watched a couple on my kindle, but can't remember the last one I've seen in a theatre...I don't know any of the new stars, and don't even recognize their names....although I do remember Tom cruise..
