This just goes to prove that not everything is always caused by our MS when we think it is. I have snacked on nuts such as cashews and almonds for years. They are so good and good for us. My skin started itching quite awhile ago and I chalked it up to another MS symptom and did nothing. Finally, it got so bad I just started thinking about what I might could do to help it. First I stopped cashews and nothing happened so I said "well, it's not nuts". But then I stopped eating almonds also and the itching has gone away. I hope that it stays gone. It has only been about 10 days, but I think that is what was doing it.
    Virginia,
When I am traveling I almost always come home with dry scaly skin on my shoulders and sometimes back and upper chest which I used to write off to commercial laundry detergents but I now think it is worse when I travel because so often the only food that is available easily is what is served at buffet meals to the entire group which is often heavy on glutens (pasta, sandwiches, granola or fruit bars which contain glutens). Iam glad you are listening to what your body is trying to tell you.

I think it does pay to try and find out if some of our little niggling things are something other than MS.

Now, I only need to find the right does of chocolate that will cure us all (per Ann).

Ann, hope you enjoy the symphony. Will you go to that same restaurant and again have ginger chicken? I am sure it will be a good day. Wish Renee would check in and find out about your fleece. Not cold enough here.

About the right dose, I'm pretty sure you have to take a lot of it for it to be effective?

Virginia, I am so fond of you that I, too, am going to experiment with chocolate in order to help you find the optimal dosage to achieve the very best health outcomes.

I will let you know what I discover, all in the name of helping out and being a good friend.

Ahhh Suze-Q what would I ever do without my friends. So glad you are joining in the search for a cure. By the way, it is good to see you again.

Agate has given us a clue - she thinks it takes a lot of chocolate. She is usually right about things, so Suze-Q and I will need to remember that.

I will volunteer to test that chocolate theory. It's a selfless act of offering my services to eat all the chocolate you can provide, and test if it's a cure for MS. Okay, lets get started!

This is heartwarming--so many willing guinea pigs! It's really nice when the volunteers come forward so readily. Makes it all worthwhile for the researchers who spend long hours toiling in the lab, trying to get just the right cure.

Why not start out with the maximum dose? You could always taper it down later.

Agate, what is the maximum dose? A bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips? A Whitman (double-decker) Sampler? How many bars of good chocolate??

That's a good idea Agate, why start at a low dose, and build it until it starts to work. Instead, start at the highest dose, and work your way down until my clothes don't fit any more, or it starts not working.

Okay, Howie is now the third participant. We will see who does the best on this. By the way Howie, you furnish your own chocolate and can even choose your own kind.

Right now I am eating 1 block of Lindt's dark chocolate with sea salt. What a sacrifice, but if it helps everyone then I will promise to try and stick with it.

Right now I am going out to eat with youngest brother. As far as I know it will be only the two of us. He kind of looks at my car as if to say "how can you ride in that dirty thing?", so I am going to leave a little early and see if I can get through the car wash. Will be first time in a long time that it has been us two. I have eaten with middle brother, but this one is always busy.

WHAT, I have to buy my own chocolate! That's not fair! That's why I volunteered so readily, but now, I guess I'll withdraw my offer. Enjoy your dinner out, and if you have any kind of chocolate, I hope you are haunted by images of poor Howie, folded over from having no chocolate in his tummy!

Virginia, I hope you won't share your chocolate with your brother unless you want to dilute its effectiveness for yourself. The less you have, the less good it does.

ANN, I believe you're the expert on chocolate? You should be able to advise the study participants about the type of chocolate? Or maybe any type?

Howie is accepting donations and setting up a GoFundMe Website so he can take part.

Funny, isn't it, that the chocolate isn't supplied? Usually if you take part in a study involving trying a medicine, the medicine is supplied.

--Just think of how important we'll be when this chocolate remedy turns out to work!

Now I know where there are so many "guests" flocking to this board (180 of them just now). They're all waiting around because they know we almost have the cure!

Howie, either come up with the money or give up the beer to buy chocolate. After all you committed to this experiment.

Went to meet my brother. It is warm day and mostly beautiful week here, so middle brother and his wife were at their condo at the beach. Well, I walked up and was going to sit down and heard someone call my name. There was middle brother and his wife. They had gotten back from the beach early. Younger brother did come. Middle brother and wife were anxious to get home and get their dog so they left and younger brother and I set there and finished eating and talked a little. Anyway, he came to my house after we ate and got the invoice that I was given by the plumber. He looked at everything that had been done and is going to call another plumber to see if he can find out what their price would have been. Like the folks on here, he was pretty astounded by my bill.

Also, found out news that I did not know about my older brother in Hilton Head. He was taken to Urgent Care yesterday where he was diagnosed with double pneumonia and sent to hospital. At the hospital he was told he has bronchitis and so is at home now. I will wait a few days or so before I call him because it is my understanding that he does not feel like talking.
