Keep on Moving Club: March 2018

MS creates some real challenges to keep on moving. It helps to inspire each other on how to find ways to move.

Did you stretch in your bed, swing your arms, roll side to side today? Or perhaps you did housework? Or exercised in a pool? Tracked your count of steps? Chased your cat around the home? Pushed the wheelchair wheels with your arms at the store? Post them here and we can support and egg each other on.

Hi,, I did my usual lift my weights/crunch machine,, which I now am up to 100 reps, instead of 80,, so I am slowly increasing everything,, no hurry, but I like to stay active, as much as possible,, there some days, when you just say "huh"?,, and have to back off ,,

I have my house cleaner come twice a month,, I can't vaccum, or sweep, but am able to do a few things,,, but we get by,,

Crunch machine--I didn't know that was the name of it. It sounds like the thing they used with me at PT during my last course. Every time I was there the first thing I had to do was to spend about 10 minutes on a machine like that. It was fun, and I did gradually get better at it.

It’s going to be days of not swimming, having back problems, so am resting it. Dang
Did some very mild stretching. Very mild.
Did the usual 5 flights stairs since dawn.

I think there must be a typo in Sunshine's post. She said "5 flights of stairs." I'm sure she meant "1 flight of stairs."

Sunshine, sorry about back problems. Howie, you just do not have time to exercise and take care of Sam too - something has to go, so I guess it is the exercise.

We all do what we can Howie!

Well, Sam did have a furball, and I had to clean that up. That counts doesn't it? It took two paper towels!

Just pushing those paper towels around takes effort.

I recall the furball situation. Phoebe sometimes had several a day, and 99 times out of 100 I had to get down on the floor on my knees to clean it up because she tended to expel the furball on the carpet instead of anywhere else.

Well, at least you know what an endless physical effort it is to take care of a cat!!! But only I know the pain of taking care of Sam! It's a thankless job, but I do it with joy in my heart, and a furball on my floor!

I'll just sneak this in here: two black kittens coming to us this week! Now we will have black hair on our light clothes and Lily's white hair on our dark clothes. Lots of exercise washing clothes.
