Glad you mentioned the cleanup after the meal preparation, Sunshine. That has always seemed to me to be one of the hardest things to figure in advance.

When I was still cooking, time and again I'd find that I'd forgotten how much cleanup would be involved in fixing a particular meal or recipe, and when I got to the cleanup stage I just wouldn't feel up to scouring so many pans or whatever. But it had to be done. So I'd do it, and the next day or some later day I'd be horrified at how dirty some of those pans I'd "cleaned" still were.

Agate, us cooks work hard. I just finished doing my pasta and coleslaw preparation, and of course the cleanup which as you know, is the hardest part of all.

Pans of all kinds, and spoons of all sizes, and trash like the box the noodles were in, and the meat wrappers, and the jar of sauce. But I'm done, the kitchen is clean, and the pasta will simmer until I eat later.

That will be my workout for a few days.

I am going up and down the stairs many times a day because the kittens are in the "sanctuary" room on the second floor.

I wake up and my anterior thighs hurt badly. I expect the extra stair work is good for me.

Howie, with all due respect to your coach, my most recent physical therapist told me the opposite. What she said was basically this:

I agree Agate, but like Howie's coach, my high school gym teacher told us that if it hurt to double down on whatever made it hurt. Wrong, Miss Perez!

I must have TRULY exercised my back. Wish I could take ibuprofen, but it makes me very sick. I use to take it all the time and I think it would help, but then it started making me very sick.

Ann, so nice of you and Peter to put kitties in a sanctuary room.

I couldn't function without Ibuprofen, and that's on top of a prescription medication. It's all that coaches fault! I'll never play football for HIM again!

He meant well, I'm sure, Howie, and after all it was what the gospel was for quite a while.

Actually, there was little pain in playing football. I do remember there was a kickoff, and I was downfield, far away from the action, and some guy came at me, and threw a tackle that I stepped aside, and his shoulder hit my hip bone. It didn't knock me down, but man that hurt.

Howie, you should have had all your padding on instead of just your thong!!! Bet all the girls enjoyed seeing you play football in your thong.

Pain? What do you gain from it anyway?
