Oh Ann, I am so happy for you and Peter. You will have so much fun with the little kittens, not to mention the comfort and love they will bring through the years. Watching them play and grow will be a treat. They are interesting to watch. When you go to your Mom's can you leave them alone? I assume you have someone who comes in.
I had four at one time. They are all gone now except Sam, but I got her last, and she's 10 years old. But because of my age, she will be my last one. I would hate to leave a cat that's been with me their whole life. They've been spoiled their whole life living with me. No one else could treat them like I do.

That's the way I feel too, Howie. Also after my experience with the last cat (Phoebe) I have real doubts about whether I could even take adequate care of a very ill cat, and they do become very ill very suddenly sometimes.

Mom got her most recent cat at 84. Mom, as you know, is 92 now.
Back to moving, we shopped and lunched w MIL on Saturday. Sunday we went to pet store for kitten food, baby mice, and small litter pan. We went to Chipolte for a tasty veggie lunch and to the dollar store for dryer sheets and vinegar for cleaning. Lots of walking.
At home we put things away, worked on kitten-proofing (impossible) and moved things to make way for an electrician coming today.
I did so much physical action that I hurt in the night. I took an extra 10 mg of baclofen.
I'm sure owning a cat makes you healthier. It has to do with your spiritual health. They help you to see love in yourself, and in another creature you share this existence with.
