Peg, so good to know you are able to let us know how you are. Make the best of this while you can and let everyone wait on you. You do enough at all other times.

Howie, I was with Ann on this one, I believed you did it too. I am still so upset that you did, I am going to have to end this post.

      ((((((Howie)))))) ~

I have so many things I want to say to you ~ to caution you and to encourage you.

But, I don't want to be a clucking hen hovering over you. And I know you're a rooster, so you'll follow your own path anyway.

So, I will just leave you with this one last encouragement, and then I will tape my beak and sit on my claws and go back to reproducing.

Please see a neurologist to determine what kind of seizures you're having and the best treatment. Just because you don't have a seizure for a day, it doesn't mean that they are gone. Many people don't seize every day, but they still have seizures, which need to be diagnosed and treated properly.

Your PCP should refer you to a neurologist, because he's a general practitioner, and you need a specialist.

      So, please see a neuro.

      Thank you.

I'm going back to the hen house now.

Rose, he has MS. He really needs to already have a Neurologist.

I'm betting that Howie's doctor would like for him to see a neuro too but has probably known him for quite a while. I'm guessing here of course, but if he knows him, he probably knows that you can lead a horse to water, etc.

And so the neurologist wasn't mentioned yesterday.

I'll go out on a limb and say that it sounds like Howie is in denial, possibly misleading us, the doctor, and most importantly himself.

nuthatch, are you sure you're not part hen?

We all have our ways of coping with MS and the isolation and other problems--like lack of ready cash--that it causes. Some opt to drink, some find MJ helps, some latch on to special diets or "cures."

Whatever floats your boat, you know?

People who are having seizures are usually told to go easy on the alcohol. There are those who are told something but they have to find out for themselves whether it's true before they'll believe it.

                  Howie,
The hens, I have to admit, are correct. You need to see a neurologist. I know you don't want to go or think you need to go but given all you have told us over the past few weeks and months it appears to be what is needed.

Have you had a bad experience with a neurologist? Don't revisit that one! Could be there is something that can be identified that is causing this and may even be raising your BP that can be addressed.

                  We care!

Exercise would help I'm sure. I just sit on the bed watching TV all day. On days I am active like going to the store, or vacuuming the house, it makes the BP lower. But I'm not one to do "exercises" daily.

Maybe you need to find some more "active" activities. I believe it's pretty well known that regular exercise can lower BP.

Pinky is beckoning you in that garage.

If you wanted to branch out into more varied meals, you could tackle some new cooking projects. Cooking can involve quite a lot of standing and reaching.

Can you walk around your neighborhood, just to get a change of scene and see what's going on? I find it interesting to watch how neighbors' yards change--different dogs, different fences, different plantings. If your area has any stores you can browse around in, that makes it more interesting. You don't have to buy anything. Sometimes you encounter a yard sale in progress. (Might be able to find an alarm clock there, in fact.)

:) Andy came today and did some moire work on the roof. He also sprayed the whole house foundation to kill the tiny ants, Jim came and replaced the bulb in my right rear taillight and took me to lunch.

I do not want to add being frustrated to my problems so I am not going to give Howie any more advice. He does not use any of our ideas.

Wednesday I went to the nursing home where my friend is for their Mother's Day/May birthdays dinner. They had balloons a singer and a lovely dinner. Crab soup, prime rib, a vegetable medley, mashed potatoes and gravy and cookies and danish for dessert. Peggy had on a pretty butterfly dress. Her oldest daughter, her husband and one of their daughters were also there. It was really nice and I think Peggy enjoyed it although she was exhausted when we got back to her room.

I took her a book, Peace in His Presence and she liked it. Peggy's birthday is the 16th so I will go again that day. She is one year younger than me.

The man Jim wanted the Hoveround for was placed in hospice. Jim will list it online again for me. Jeanie :)

Howie, don’t exercise. Rather, just start to increase moving around. Start small.
