Good morning all! I got gas, then the bank and store, and I'm done for the day. It's supposed to start raining in a little while. We could use a little. Stay dry, and have a great day!

I was thinking that too, Sunshine. I've worked in libraries as well. Does somebody have a grant for looking into this connection?Originally posted by Sunshine View PostSo libraries cause MS...

I remember when there were a lot of nurses on the board w MS.
Today I was missing Peter although he has been calling, messaging and sending pictures from museums and the National Gallery. Also, pictures of his meals.
At 10 AM, I walked a block to the bus and got off two blocks from WFds. It was a hard walk today. Then I bought peonies and some things I needed. I Ubered home.
My brother called me and I called my mom. All is well.

Howie, just a suggestion, but perhaps bring your new BP monitor with you to your appointment to check against their #'s there.
I had one that I lent to a friend. But she took it to a hospital and compared it against theirs and the #'s on mine were completely off.
So, it's important to calibrate it next to the one a health professional uses to ensure its accuracy.
Is your BP a "Gary high" #?

Agate, I've been IN a library, so you may be onto something.
ANN, I have never taken an Uber. Do they check the driver's driving/criminal record? Is it a lot cheaper than a cab? Are cars clean?
Do they just keep your address/CC on file? Do you prefer an Uber to a cab, and if so, why? Thanks!Last edited by SuzE-Q; 05-06-2018, 11:58 AM.

It has been observed that ALL people who have cancer drink water. Does water cause cancer?

Suzy, in MA, Uber drivers are regulated by the company and by our state. Background checks are done. They are not fingerprinted, however. That is a difference w taxi drivers who are fingerprinted.
Why I like them:
They are cheaper than taxis. For instance, a taxi to the airport was usually $40. The highest we've paid w Uber is $27.
The app has my credit card on file, the driver never sees it and there is no discussion of money. I can ride even if I don't have money. And it's quicker to get out of the car - no fumbling for money, figuring tax or bridge tolls and tip. It's on my phone and I know what it will be before I order the Uber. I'll get an email later from Uber asking if I want to tip or comment.
The cars are cleaner and newer. The drivers are polite, so far.
It is immensely quicker than using the RIDE for me. It costs more.
Also, my experience w cabs is that they may come or not. I often had to call back. Uber shows you where your ride is and when it will get to you. For me, it is usually about 4". It has been between 1 and 11".

Thanks, ANN, that's good info to know.
I wondered about the benefits of it.

Howie,
Gary's numbers were consistently above 200/100 and he has reported as high as 270/150. I hope and pray yours are not that high. My youngest brother consistently runs around 210/100 on three BP meds.
As to Uber, my daughter Heather is a driver and loves it for the most part. Now when I travel I always take Uber over taxi as it is cheaper, faster and , I think, cleaner and the drivers are really nice.
I just got back from 5 days in the White Mountains and there was still some white! Loon Mountain and Canon Mountain both had snow on the trails and Lafayette, Lincoln, Garfield and Washington still have snow cap. Nice and warm up there in the 70s during the day and low 60s at night. Huge thunderstorm Friday night with a lightning strike taking out a tree just across the road from me but we never lost power. Laundry is going, Dave is out showing a house and I feel like I need a nap!
