Wow! 2267! Is that your most steps since tracking them?

Sometimes I've done better but haven't ever hit 3000. On July 9 I took 2471 steps.

And I do keep up the prescribed exercises no matter what. The benefits of keeping as active as possible are pretty clear.

Agate, that is such a great report. Even on days that were less than your 2267 you still did really good. I don't think based on when I was using my pedometer that I took that many steps even on days that I went to grocery store. Of course there is a lot of standing in place with me at the grocery store. I have to look at everything I buy and check dates on items. Just the way I am I guess.

Virginia, a while back weren't you and I discussing whether some pedometers are odd in the way they tally up the steps?

Since then I found out that my pedometer is definitely very odd. Some nights when I take it out to look at its final reading for the day, it might be at 995 and then, while I'm holding it in my hand, it racks up another 15-20 steps quickly. I'm not sure why it does this. Maybe it's catching up with itself. I've seen this happen quite often.

Agate, that is what mine was doing and I got so frustrated that I quit using it. Also, one day when I went to grocery store and pharmacy I hardly had any steps. Not much more than I was having in my house at that time. Unless you have changed we have the same one. I think you are wearing yours or carrying it more accurately than I was. I believe you were putting yours on your belt if I remember correctly. I was trying mine different ways and one was wearing it inside my blouse which maybe was not a good place.

The one Peter used had him measure his stride. It was just a small square on inexpensive plastic but he did have to input that. It could tell if he was moving around in a chair or walking. I thought it was good. He tried for 10,000 steps, then twelve. He sometimes added an evening walk to up his steps.

I went surfing today! It was a blessing. I awoke at 4 a.m. to get ready, with an ankle spasm that resolved quickly. I didn’t let that deter me from the plan to go surf. It’s scary because it’s far from a decent hospital. But Life can be scary.

It was a small, knee high at best, clean wave. The water was Crystal clear. It was outgoing tide, so the waves lacked punch. But no matter! I got a bunch of rides because the paddle outs were like paddling in a pool, very little resistance against the small gentle incoming waves.

I was able to sit on my board without triggering a spasm, during the long lulls between sets of waves.

There were very few in the water due to the small forecast, even though it was Saturday. So, just 8surfers, all buddies, enjoying the fun and the glory of waves...I got about seven rides.

                      Tomorrow is part two.

Sunshine, that truly is a blessing. I know you know to be extra careful, seems I remember hearing or reading that it is shark breeding season. Guess they become a little more vicious. You are very familiar with all this, so guess it is pointless to say anything, but I already did. Lol

Today was MIL goes shopping day. We had one errand and then picked her up. We took her to CVS, lunch and Trader Joe’s. Then Peter and his Mom dropped me off. I did a small load of laundry and then packed. Tomorrow is a flight to PA for Mom’s 93rd birthday.

I’m already so darn tired. Peter says, I’ll get you there and he will.

Hope all is well with your Mom Ann. It is wonderful that you are going to be there for her birthday. So good to be able to trust someone like Peter to help you when you think you can't do anymore.

I went surfing today, and it was only ankle to shin high, almost flat. But there were some rides to be had. I last longer in easy paddle outs.

The highlight except being amongst fun friends, was a manatee. Such amazing creatures. Beautiful!
The water is coming alive with baitfish and crabs!

Was almost too sunny, blinding. You’re always looking east for a wave. The sun is in the east mornings!
