On the part of the Cape we vacation at, the sun appears to set in the East.
Today was walking and stairs and airports and luggage. Lots of moving. I just took as hot a shower as I dare and am on the bed w ice on sore knee and a troublesome muscle.
Mom was out of her chair once - to go to bed at 8:45 PM.

Why not use the airport wheelchairs and transport people?Originally posted by stillstANNding View PostOn the part of the Cape we vacation at, the sun appears to set in the East.

Not to worry Virginia. I am mindful of the fact that we are surfing with sharks. And you’re right, when they migrate, there are a lot more of them.Originally posted by Virginia View PostSunshine, that truly is a blessing. I know you know to be extra careful, seems I remember hearing or reading that it is shark breeding season. Guess they become a little more vicious. You are very familiar with all this, so guess it is pointless to say anything, but I already did. Lol
It’s an unavoidable risk of surfing, but minimal compared with head injuries, gashes, muscle tears, broken fingers, broken necks, broken backs, concussions, ......
As my DH typically says if he spots a new bruise on the leg, “You picked a dangerous sport”.

I admire your determination, Sunshine. Some of us know perfectly well that we should get on with our exercise but somehow other activities come ahead of exercise on the day's to-do list. And (in my case) by the time the day is winding down, we have the excuse of (a) hot weather or (b) fatigue to bail us out.
If the day is over, and my shoes are already off, and I realize I've forgotten to do the 40 foot-lifts that I'm supposed to do every other day, I do make sure that I do 80 leg lifts the next day, to make up for it. I like to think I'm doing well at keeping up with the PT as prescribed. But you have to get yourself to the pool or the beach and have a carefully thought out strategy for what you're doing. That takes real commitment.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

Thanks agate.
For me it’s crucial. I had stopped making swimming a priority, always just selling that time slot for dc appts, grocery shopping, etc.
Then I realized that it was as important if not moreso than the other things. So I stopped scheduling anything that conflicted with swimming.
With summer it is easier. I can swim in my backyard at 7 a.m.... .... in winter it will be harder since the public pool is challenging re walking the distances, and the opening times are later, 9:00 some days.
And, I can’t exercise after 12:30. And I have to time the exercise with my Tizanidine to prevent spasms. So, it’s trickier Oct through April.... until my new home is built. That pool is designed to be able to heat all winter long. It will be very narrow, just one lane, and @4-5 feet deep. Steps off my living room.
I am lucky Incan do this. I KNOW that. And lucky the MS isn’t terrible. So far.

I moved around a bit today. I had to go to the Doctor and I was there for a little over an hour, then I went to Costco to pick up a prescription, then I went to the grocery store to get some food to eat. I wanted to have quite a bit here because my eye Doctor says I probably will not want to be going out for a couple of weeks. I came home from the grocery store and unloaded the car, put the groceries away and then went to Panera to get food for tonight. I got a cup of summer corn chowder and half a turkey, avocado, blt. It was more walking than usual, because of the location of the pharmacy in Costco, and then after getting what I thought was everything I needed at the grocery store I remembered an item and had to go back to the other side I had been on. I didn't get to eat tonight until 7:30.Virginia

Here are the steps to place a member on an ignore list.
Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen
One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.
