Did you not enjoy the food or the conversation, Virginia?

Howie, I also enjoy snow. I love to be inside and cozy and turn on my outside lights and watch it fall at night.

I have had four good days in a row - sleeping all night, not in fear of something tragic wrong and relatively comfortable. My meals are still small but very tasty and appreciated.

Virginia, were these the relatives that you were concerned about a while back because of some differences of opinion on Facebook? I hope that the blowback on that hasn't been difficult.

What's not to like about snow? Well,
      1 - It's cold and slippery outside
2- If you have to shovel it, you often have quite a demanding job, and then MORE of the stuff falls, and there goes the nice path you've just cleared
3 - There can be power outages, and it might take longer than usual to restore power. If you're in an apartment with all-electric everything, including heat, you get cold fast.

      Humbug.

Don't mind me. When the snow falls, I'll try to go outside and make myself a lovely snowball, bring it indoors and keep it in the freezer and just love it with all my heart. It will be perfectly round and perfectly white and delightfully cold. I'll open up the freezer door every hour just to admire it.

Unless of course the power is out because of the snow, and then I might want to keep the freezer door shut.

And about where all the people are, I'm sure they're all decking the halls with boughs of holly or going a-wassailing or jingling bells.

            Hi Peg....you busybody!!!

I have made a great discovery. The Grinch that stole Christmas, is really...Agate!

DEFEND YOURSELF AGATE!!! I Personally don't believe you are a Grinch. Maybe it is Howie and he is trying to throw the trail off by naming you.

Ann, it was the food and the company - my own. I had homemade chicken salad with fruit, but the chicken was dry. Since the brothers now live close to each other I might as well not be there. They talk more than ever about things that concern them, and they are getting together again to go see some Christmas music Tuesday night. So they will get to talk again. I am out of the loop.

I am glad you are sleeping all night. That is good for you. I get up usually 4 to 6 times. Not good. After the first of the year I will try to find something out about this.

Have y'all noticed how sneaky Peg is? We just never know when she is lurking around and sneaking in and out. She always has all this wonderful food and never brings us any. I would love to have some really good oyster stew.

I forgot to say "goodnight all". Where are Renee, Parsi, Nuthatch, Jendie and a few others? I wonder if Cat is still cooking for TC? I wouldn't doubt it.

I'm sure all of those people you mentioned are busy wrapping holiday presents for us!

Virginia, I don't ever defend myself when Howie does that name-calling thing. I've been called a witch and other things too. He gets back at all of the clucking hens here. He's called Peg and others a witch, and on it goes. He'd like to roast some of us over an open fire.

                      A busy day today.

I had to get myself motivated to do anything today. So time for coffee. Once I finished a mug, I got myself dressed, and headed for the first task, to carry out the trash.

I had FOUR bags to take out, but awhile back, I accidently bought these huge leaf bags. Well I could fit 2 of my regular trash bags in each one. So now I only had 2 trash bags to carry out to the car. Took those to the dump, and next is the bank.

After the bank, I went shopping at the store, and was lucky enough to get a fully charged cart. Of course, I always plug them in when I'm done shopping, to recharge them. I wish everyone did.

I'll probably go to the store again tomorrow since I've discovered about 3 things I forgot to get. But for now, I'm patting myself on the back for having such a productive day. Time to relax.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

:) Hi everyone. I read here everyday but do not always post. I am looking forward to the 23rd. Andy is cooking and we will have everyone over for dinner and stockings. I am including my new friend I play Rummy tile with and Andy's girlfriend.

I do stockings with a golden apple, a red delicious apple, an orange, mixed nuts and chocolate kisses in colorful wraps. I also put a money card in each. The six stockings cost about $100 to do plus the money I put in.

I am enjoying the tree Andy put up for me and I love all my old ornaments. I had the heat on again last night and it will be cold again tonight then warm up to the 80's again.

I hope all of you are having good holidays and will have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year. Christmas eve we are going to the church service at Jim's church. Jim plays in the church band. Christmas day nothing is planned except for brunch at Jim's.

You are all in my prayers. Ann and Cat I hope you both feel better. Jeanie :)

We are in NH for a few days and headed home in the morning. Dave is out cross country skiing with a neighbor here for the third day in a row . Temps are hovering at freezing and a soft snow is falling. Lovely.

Agate, I didn't know this about Howie - guess I better be careful. He might call me something, but not sure I want to know what it is.

Howie, doesn't it feel good to have such a productive and nice day. In spite of you possibly calling Agate and Peg names I am so glad you had a good day!

Jeanie, it sounds like you are in for a nice and lengthy Christmas, that will pretty much go on for 3 days. I am glad you are up to all this. I hope you are feeling great on all three of these days.

Cherie, NH does sound very beautiful. When I traveled in New England it was not winter. I have never been there in the winter. I stayed in Vermont at a place called White House Inn, but it was in the late Spring.

Virginia, when you went to Vermont, did you travel there on your broom? Peg and Agate use theirs all the time to travel.

I may have posted this before but I'm reminded of it when I hear about New England winters. This was my house (back view) in Massachusetts on a fairly typical winter day (in 1977). I rode a snow shovel there when the broomstick wouldn't hack it through the snow.
