The urology appt went well and I will transfer care to the urologist. The med recommended is to start after the hurricane when I can report side effects if a bad problem. See back in 3 weeks.

At home feeling very worried about Dorian. The track is so unclear. The whole state looks to be impacted, the question is what part will get Cat4 winds....Evacuating with these medical issues, equipment , huge amount of meds would be tough, unsure if I can fly like this, driving could be a mistake, you can get into gridlock and gas stations are already short on gas...Looks like we will stay, but I will talk to DH again about it...The town will be devastated if it hits here...

You too JEanie, We cross posted. THe only good thing is if it hits PB near Mar A Lago there will be a massive federal response probably...

I haven’t heard much from the governor, on line, but then again, I don’t watch tv news...

If you can bear no a/c, I guess I can too Jeanie...

        ((((((Jeanie and Sunshine)))))) ~

Jim and I are keeping a close eye on Dorian on the Weather Channel and sending lots of prayers for your safety. We completely understand how difficult it is to evacuate, when you have mitigating circumstances. For us, with our boys, it was impossible.

You are both veterans of hurricanes, so I know that you're prepared.

We are praying that Dorian decreases in size and intensity and that you will all be spared an onslaught of wind and rain.

As most of us know from experiencing natural "disasters," or major events, like earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, fires, etc., Mother Nature is not a happy camper these days.

Stay safe. We're thinking of you.

        Love & Light,

:) The latest track has it going a little North of us. That would put us on the weaker side with less wind. I hope it stays on that track or goes even further North or better yet become a fish storm and head into the Atlantic.

I cannot even figure how many hurricanes I have lived through. I was born in Jacksonville, Florida and have lived my whole life here. In WPB since 1964. I remember one when I was seven that put a huge oak tree into our living room roof. We rented then so the landlord had the problem.

I will check in when I can but don't worry about me, I am ready. Jeanie :)

Well, Jeanie you know us hens we are worried about you and Sunshine. I just hope you both are able to get on line long enough to let us know that you are alright when it passes you. I too wish it would go out to sea. Maybe one of you could invite Howie down to visit right now so he could find out what it's like to know the anxiety of getting ready for a hurricane. He could bring Sam. It takes a lot of preparation and then you wonder if you have done all you can. Jeanie, you are such a veteran of these things that I am sure you have it down pat now, but I worry about you staying there alone.

Agate, loved that you are have gotten money from a Safeway class action law suit. That is wonderful. I am sure it made you feel pretty good and also to know that it was justified by the housing people where you live. Congratulations. Hope that teaches Safeway a lesson.

As far as cable goes, I would hate to be without it. I watch several different news shows, but also I sometimes find a movie that I like and because I have Amazon Prime I have free access to their movies. I do pay extra and take Netflix. A couple of months or so ago I was in for the week-end and I got a "movie on demand". It only cost a little over $5 which I felt was not too bad for a nights entertainment without going out. I saw RBG - Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Taking care of Sam, and catering to her every need is worse than what any hurricane could throw at me!

And Jeannie and anyone who is threatened by this storm, know that I am just kidding. I know going through the real thing must be terrifying. Take care and be safe.

Continuing to prepare. Just paid cc by phone in case lost in storm mail. Making some food. Doing the last minute laundry. Resting. My legs are terrible from the disc extrusion. I hope \it doesnt turn into an emergency until I can get to the ER!
                That worries me...
Ocean is toxic from rain runoff. Don’t go into it!

:) I did not get up until 10. I am still in my pj's and plan to stay in them all day. Outside it is only a little windy now. The latest track I saw takes it North of me and offshore. Still the winds extend outward a long way.

Andy will be over tomorrow to board up the windows. I hope a few can be left off so I can open them for a cross breeze if I lose power. I have a poorly made 2nd carport David made and I park my house scooter under it when I use the van. If we get strong wind I may lose that.

In case I can't make coffee I bought a couple of Starbucks Fappachino's. Virginia it looks like you and Howie will get some of this storm. Stay safe. Jeanie :)

Yes, Jeanie it has now turned in my direction. I am not sure about Howie. My biggest problem is that I cannot open my windows. They are stuck and I don't have anyone to open them. I am talking about if the power goes out. Apprehensive now.

Do you have a neighbor Virginia. Strangers and neighbors will help older women, especially handicap ones. IT makes them feel good to help. Reach out. Call your meditation group and see if they have an idea.
                      People want to help.
Let them say no. I bet they will call someone to help you.
Please breakthrough the isolation and call someone in your town.

I am a super stubborn woman: I would call someone I barely knew, explained the problem. Ask if they or a neighbor or someone can help
I cant recall if you have a church....

I just went to the store. I was out of chocolate ice cream, and since I was there, I got beer. I haven't had any in over a month, so why not. I just beat it getting dark. I don't drive after dark. Now Sam is happy, and so am I!

I wouldn't want to be unable to open windows either. I'd find a way.

Virginia ~ I agree that alerting a neighbor or two is a good idea. It's always best to be prepared and have a plan in place, and for people around you to know that you are there, and alone. Your neighbors might think that you'll be with your family or other friends.

Also, we've been told that we should tell the police and fire department that we have/had people with disabilities or elderly, who would need assistance during any kind of disaster. They've all been here enough times to know this, but there's some kind of formal notification recommended.

I would think this would be a good idea for all of us here, even if we aren't expecting a hurricane. If the police and fire department have a list of folks, who are vulnerable during a disaster, they will check on those people first. Or, at least they should.

Jeanie and Sunshine ~ The trajectory of Dorian seems to change periodically. It must be nerve-wracking for you.

Many prayers on the way that Dorian will change course and move out to sea. Unfortunately, we saw cruise ships in the Atlantic on the Weather Channel, and I thought that was a big mistake.

                            Be safe everyone ~

:) We might very well only get high winds and rain. But the poor Bahamas are going to have 150+ winds and 1- to 15 storm surge. Many of their places are not up to par and could have a lot of damage. I'm praying for those being hit the hardest. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, it does look really bad for the Bahamas. I wish it would go on out to sea, but pretty sure it is going to hit Bahamas first.
