Hi, all. Tomorrow I finally see a GYN. My last cycle was weird enough the HMO can't prevent it now. My pelvic pain is better/worse. I can tolerate some things better, but my lower back, quads, outer thigh/hip muscles are SHOT, burny and aching. Could be a spinal nerve irritation thing, but I am just hoping it's all the tension releasing and causing this. (Optimism is hard lately.) I am icing it all so it feels better that way at least!

Otherwise, okay, I guess. Just very anxious today, so am all over the place. Do I hope for the GYN to find something or not?! And my bloodwork's not back yet, we checked CA-125 (cancer antigen) and other scary stuff. Oy.

I still can't get a picture of my cat here, he was so cute sitting in DH"s laptop case! Oh well.

Your garden ideas all sound perfect to me! My garden this year grew a lot of ragweed, LOL.

    Hugs,
    Leo

I haven't taken daily GERD meds for years, Pati---got onto herbal stuff that works without wonky side effects---only on NExium now b/c of the Celebrex. And believe me, that was only when all else failed! I have heard some things about GERD meds that were why I worked hard to et off them forever. Eek!

Leo, hope your appointment went the way you wanted it to.

Not much is going on in my life.

Saturday I plan on going to the movie "Help". I heard it's good. Then on Sunday we are going to the apple orchid and spent time getting everything made with apples.

I wish everyone would check in and tell us how they are doing. Sometimes it feels like everyone just quits posting.
          Take care,
          Dawn

Oh Dawn, I saw " The Help " twice and love it! Wish I could pick some wonderful apples, I saw on " The Chew" a lady dipped apple slices in pancake batter and cooked on a griddle, they looked wonderful and yummy ! Everyone have a good day, I am trying and love to see people posting as well. Big Hugs from GING to you all :) :)

              hey everyone!

ging, my mom made that for us when we were kids...lol. then she sprinkled powdered sugar on them. you have to use softer apples, so they get a bit soft when you fry the slices...cause the hard apples are too hard unless you slice them really thin.

i agree with ya dawn! i guess more people will be posting in the cold winter. right now i have stuff to do in my yard everyday. today i am planting bulbs! the leaves are slowly faliing from the tree and i am trying to keep up raking them as they fall. i have to fill in more dirt. so i'm going to ask my daughter to take me to home depot and get some bags of top soil, compost and peat moss. i used 2 huge compressed bags of peat moss last week!

i will triple shred my leaves this autumn, so i can use it in the garden as compost. i want it fine so it will mostly disappear by spring.

i'm getting some baby's breath bulbs soon. i'll plant the 3 bulbs together so they look like a small bush.

i don't have much to say beyond what i'm doing in the yard, everything else is so depressing and i can do nothing about it, so am not going to waste the time.

i'm seeing a counselor every 2 weeks to work out some stuff.

i cleaned up my neighbors weed line that's against my fence. i put up some of that black-barrier, hard plastic (in a roll, about 5-6 inches high), against the fence so her weeds wouldn't grow into my cleaned up yard. yesterday was a good day, cause the soil was moist and i pulled those weeds out and all their long roots. i saw this vine growing that has little blue flowers on it, but it's really a pain in the butt and will cover everything. i thought i got rid of it completely about 25 years ago, when it covered our fence, but somehow it started growing again! i stole all her worms, cause that soil was rich from my yews dropping their needles and turning the soil rich when they degraded. she doesn't plant, so i just put the worms over the fence in my yard where they will happily eat my leaves in the fall !

oh, i read about a way to get rid of weeds safely! i was going to use round-up...but then i thought, chemicals, killing good plants, etc. the article said to boil equal amounts of white vinegar and water and pour that hot mixture on the weeds and they will die. well, i know, my peace lily did when i accidentally poured vinegar over it instead of the water i had sitting in an old vinagar plastic jug. when water sits, the chemicals evaporate from it, so it's good for houseplants.

              well, that's it for today!

hope everyone is getting some cooler weather!

thank you for sharing and caring,
              jeannie

When I was a kid fried apples were a part of life ..... a common dish in the winter. Any unpeeled apples were sliced into a skillet with lots of butter and sugar, fried until the slices were limp and the butter and sugar were starting to "candy". Oh, they were good.

well it's nice here today so I'm washing stuff from my trailer. plus working in the shop. just noticed it's after 4pm already so the day went fast.

did I mention my sting? I swear I'm a bug magnet!! guessing it was another wasp sting......inside my pants! it's huge & has finally stopped itching. I cannot see it well since inside my thigh. research tells me I may have been stung more than once. took me awhile to get my pants off & make a baking soda poultice. I've been putting apple cider vinegar on it. drove me crazy with the itching for several days. also using an ice pack.

I actually feel pretty good today. no fibro jabbing pain for a change.

we have to keep this forum going,so if you're out there lurking please post & let us know you're OK.

                    Checking in

I read here quite regularly as a lurker so thought I would post. No special activities here but can mention that I have a condition of Age Associated Memory Loss which should help me belong here.

thanks for posting Mal! many of us seem to have some kind of memory issues. age or whatever! I had lapsed on taking my B12. well after a month of taking it I can say I have some new hairs sprouting on my head. less depression also but that could be the nice weather here lately.

when nothing is happening in my life I get too bored. watch far too much TV which of course keeps me from doing anything. spin cycle?HA!

wondering where Dee is? and Kat? and so many others? hopefully will come back when it's too cold to be outside?

Jeannie you just keep talking about what you are doing in the yard. Just because I can no longer work in mine doesn't mean I don't love hearing about how pretty others are making theirs. I did my share of yard work in years past so now am just to worn out to do it any more.

But I always loved what I worked so hard to accomplish and so will you. Well I read where some saw the movie The Help. I did not make it to see the movie tho I did read the book. And fast. It was an easy read for me. Have to admit tho that even tho the chapters had who I was reading about, until i read a few pages into each chapter, I had a time recalling just who I was reading about. Since it had them that way, I guess I thought I did not need to make my little note like I usually do when I read. Boy was I wrong. I have promised to let a woman read it and when she returns it (once I get it to her). I hope to buy the dvd when it comes out then I will watch the movie as many times as I want. Not driving has stopped that for now as I haven't gotten it to her yet.

Mal it is good to see you posting. I hope others that read will join in and start posting as well. I have been awfully busy so have not posted as often as I use to. I am sure htis winter I will have more time and boredom will cause me to sit at computer more. I do miss everyone so it won't be a chore at all keeping up with everyone.

Joy ~ I "think" the author, Kathryn Stockett, has a web site about THE HELP. Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... which will give you information about a DVD.
I wish she's get busy with another book.

LaBella, In 9 days my DD will be 23. John will be home on that weekend, then it's back to Laurinburg monday.
I'm working on my 11th puzzle. I like to do puzzles to pass time while John's gone. I did a winter scene one & put puzzle glue on it & plan to frame it as a Christmas decoration.
