I was weird yesterday with kids

now that's a strange title eh? I don't usually have many wee ones @ my sales. yesterday was the exception. 3 darling little girls w/mom. youngest spotted the Madame Alexander doll in the case. oh how she wanted that doll! so what did I do? I recalled the bald headed, naked baby doll that fell out of packing paper. she freaked over no hair on the doll of course (I think she's about 2yr old). out of my mouth popped this: "she's a cancer baby doll"

this beautiful weather must be affecting my head!

Actually it is a good thing. If it was causing growth hormones to be produced, my forehead, nose, tongue, jaw, hands and feet would get bigger. But I would not get any taller.

I live in west central Texas, and there are no fires there. (As of now) There was one there earlier this spring and 11 or 12 homes were destroyed by it. Luck was with the firefighters, as it did not jump I-20 so the city was spared.

My sister lives in Texas, but way down there. Jan, Let's pray the fires stay away from you.

We are getting rain here in north west Ohio. It rained or drizzled yesterday, from before I got up till I went to bed. Maybe it rained all night???? Today there's a 100% chance of rain.

Why does the site not let me reply to two threads within 60 seconds? I read fast, I type fast, not my fault!:(

Anyway, Jan, glad you're okay down in TX, my PA friends and fam would LOVE to send y'all some water! Give you what's in the Susquehanna for starters....

Sorry about the misspeak about the hormone thing, misunderstood.

GP visit yesterday. He said we'll probalby never ID the exact injury b/c it took so long for him (and other docs) to realize the pain was not about my ovarian cysts....From here on out, we rest, we treat as we go, and we pray it gets better. I hate that it's ONLY better if I do rest---but I'll just have to cope somehow I guess....

                Hugs!

Well, some of you are worried about the fires, now does any one have a boat? , I am drowning. It has been raining since Saturday night here in VA and with no end on site. Yesterday was the worst of the days. My county got the worst of the storm and it was awful. I left work at 5, stop for some chinese, and 1 mile from home the road where I have to turn to go home was blocked because it was FLOOD it, so I turn around got on I95 and on the the next exit one over go around so I could go home the other way and the road was closed too, because What else? FLOOD, so here I am needing to go to the John ASAP about 3 minutes from home and not moving. My hubby and daughter where also coming from the subway and stock behind me, so here we are at 6:15 pm 1/2 mile from home and no way to get there, my youngest called worried that nobody was home and it was raining and thundering so bad that she was scared. I had to send her to the neighbor's house because we had no idea what time we could get home.

Well to top it of, my hubby's car (which I was driving) is a mercedes and it is so low that it broke down because of the flood, so we had to leave it at the street were we had park to wait out the storm and flood. My hubby finally decided it to take my truck put all of us in it and drive aorund the inside roads and see if we could get homes from the south since the north was block. After cutting thru some roads and going on a big circle, we made it home from the South at 10 pm. The other car was towed today and I do not want to even now how much $$ this is going to cost me, no $$, no car and drowning, please God help. Between an earthqueake, an hurricane and now some raining storm that won't stop until MAYBE sunday, I cannot take it anymore.

                    (((((HUGS))))), labella!

seems if it's not one thing, it's another. and nothing you can do about mother nature except wait.

i'm glad you got home safe, though and they had the good sense to close your street, cause people have driven into flooded areas and drowned! and you don't know what's under that water, either!

we're just having temperature differences of 15 to 30 degrees in one day, so no big deal here !

pati, i thought that was a BRILLIANT answer about the doll that had no hair! even if the little girl didn't understand at least you told her something!

just take it easy and thank God your family is safe!

                    ,

Oh, Bella! I am sorry you're going through this! I know Northern VA got hit so much worse than the mountains, my DH's best buds from high school are respectively stuck at home (in MD) and flooded out of their townhouse (in VA). The latter is coming to stay with us for a few days. Not what I need with my lousy pelvic injury issues, but he's a nice guy, and he's got much worse problems.... I am glad you're okay and so's your family. Hopefully the rain will stay away a while and we can all get dried out!

I've got a diagnosis for my pelvic pain: Charlie Fox Disease. (For those who didn't get exposed to this kind of military stuff.... Call letters Charlie Fox are CF, polite shorthand for Cluster Fu**). Mom and I have researched and more, and come to the conclusion I probably originally had Injury A (probably a sprain of SI joint and a muscle or two) that didn't get seen right b/c of my concurrent ovarian issues; so by the time I got to see my doc's office in July, 6 weeks had gone by...and the idiot nurse prac missed the boat, too, and sent me to PT, which is just WRONG if you're not sure what's wrong...Giving me INjury B and possibly Injury C and maybe even Injury D! Now here I am 5 weeks after leaving PT... 3 and a half months after the first injury...so messed up my docs are all confused. Here's the problem....
Docs are trained like "HOUSE": Many symptoms equal one illness. WRONG-O! Sometimes, many symptoms mean overlapping illnesses... Leading to Charlie Fox Disease!

That was meant to be mildly, darkly funny. Oh well. She shoots, she misses!

I hope we all have a SAFE weekend! No random floods, fires, kinkajous;) or other "guests".

Speak of, Thank GOD we have a daybed in DH's study, gives us a place to put DH's buddy while his townhouse dries out and gets all pro-cleaned and all that.

                      Hugs, y'all!

Leo, I have wondered about not being able to reply/send 2 things within 60 secs. also. I'm sorry about all your problems & pray for you. and LaBella my SIL & family live in Va. too & I have heard about all the water. On facebook my niece put a picture & wrote 'Now ____ road is a river' I imagine you had a long tiring day. One time a few yrs ago we got a few inches in the basement & the sump pump stopped so we had to turn on a generator. Everyone in most of the city had water in their basement.

I was hoping to tell you I got a job. But I just found out the paratransit bus only runs till 8:15 on weekdays in the holiday season & till 3:45 on sunday in the holiday season. The job I just applied for is in a department store & I have a feeling they don't want a sales associate that can only work till then. I wrote to the paratransit co. telling them they aren't exactly helping we disabled people.

Good for you Lor for standing up against the paratransit co. More people need to step up to the plate on issues like that.

Labella, I'm thinking about you as it's only Fri and you say it's going rain till Sunday? I hope you are ok, check in and let us know.

I'm tired, tired, tired. Seem everything there is to do take so much effort.

Hope every one has a great weekend.

Bella, hope you don't need a boat. How are you gettin to work?

Lor, good for you calling them up.

Dee, sometimes it takes a great effort to get going but we must keep moving.

Does anyone have problems with the ball of their feet? When I wake up or don't walk for a while the balls of both feet are so sore it's hard to walk. I'm going to the doctor on Tuesday. This has been going on for about six months now. I thought it was from the treadmill but I haven't been on it for a week and half and still having problems.
                            Take care,

                              hey everyone!

dawn, the doctor is the right person to see. sometimes doing one exercise for a long time gives a certain part of your body a repetitive strain type injury, like having a job where you type a lot might cause carpal tunnel syndrome. that's why i got off my stationary bike the past year and started walking.

i emailed julia and she answered back! she is alive and well ! her pc needs some work done on it and her hubby has been taking care of things from his mother's death a few month's ago, so when he has time he will fix it up for her. julia says it is HOT! HOT! HOT! and she's taking it easy. she sends everyone her love!

we got a whole day's rain yesterday and my freaking yard is flooded, again. this is getting monotonous. i know i need to put more dirt on to make it level, but i also need grass and plants to suck up some of that rain! i am truly getting tired of this. the dogs just go in a funk when it rains cause they know they can't go outside and play fetch. nora will walk around the house with her ball in her mouth and try to get someone to pay attention to her. it is pitiful.

i did buy some bulbs the other day. some colchicums, which bloom in mid-september to the first hard frost and give your yard a pop of color in the fall. i also got some alliums, they are in the onion family and they grow tall on straight stems. the ones i got are called "drumstick" cause they aren't as tall as the others. they have round little balls of flowers on the top. and i got some yellow flowers which i'm going to mix with the irises, cause they bloom around the same time. i think they're in the allium family, too.

well, that's it for today. i have to feed the dogs and finish laundry.

thank you for sharing and caring,
                              jeannie

Dee, We've been having rain all day, down in Toledo. But yesterday (friday) it stopped a few times. Today we haven't had any yet (& it's 5:45pm). Maybe Detroit is just a couple days behind us.

dawn, I've been having trouble on the ball of my foot by my little piggie...you see, I broke my toe..in 2 places. That was in June & finally I'm able to wear my sandles (but you don't wear sandles after mid Sept. in north Ohio) & I tried on my nice white shoes. I got the shoes in July thinking my foot would be fine by my neice's wedding. You ought to go to a podiatrist.

Jeannie, I want to put flowers around my tree. I wonder if I can put crocuses cuz thet bloom very early & bring a feeling of spring joy. But I also want to put summer flowers.

I finished my 750 piece puzzle. I only have 10 to do when John's gone but now I need new ones. My son told me his new GF does puzzles so I think I'll give her my old ones. She puts them in frames then on her wall. She & her mom did a very large one that took 5 years..it's a Mona Lisa & if you step back you can see the little DeVince ones in it. --------------------OUCH! My Foot!
