Agate, I hurt all the time in my neck and upper shoulders. I wish I knew how to get something like you are talking about to sleep on at night. How could I find one that is right for me? Have any ideas?
Virginia, mine looks a lot like this except that I got it from the PT people and paid only $11 for it:

It's hard to tell if the foam inside is the same stuff but my guess is that it's similar. You could try one of those on your own but have you thought about asking a doctor or physical therapist first, to make sure you're getting the right kind of support?

Some years ago I was having a lot of back pain but a new mattress and boxspring solved quite a few of those problems. Could that be something to look into?

        Yeah what Ann said!

Had to get up early today and show up at the court house for jury duty. I could probably get a waiver but next to my name is "LEO". Law enforcement official. It means I get sent home every time. My daughter and my wife both have to serve this term and today my daughter was called but they released her as well especially as she had just come off her normal 12 hour shift at the hospital.

I didn't used to mind being on a jury. However now I am not really sure that I could sit that long without the muscle spazms kicking up. And the whole family agrees that daughter isn't jury material either. She lives in a black and white world. If you cheated someone or hurt someone especially a kid she strongly believes that you should be taken out to the parking lot and strung up. And she doesn't mind telling someone her opinion.

Hasn't quite froze hard yet but it is suppose to this week. I have the furnace ready to go but we have not turned it on yet this year. My wife is happy if the house is no more than 65 deg. I like it because I pay the power bill!

Agate, I looked down the page at the neck rolls and they must be different because some pricier ones are on down the line. I just wonder the difference. Definitely do not think it is mattress for my neck and shoulders. I was in a wreck in Europe and this is result. May have gotten a little worse with MS. However, the car I was in was hit from behind by a tractor trailer truck and knocked the little Volkswagen out into a field and it flipped end over end 3 times. Didn't even roll which would probably have been a little better. Though I can't say that for sure, since 4 of us ladies got out alive. I have paid a big price in pain for that accident, and all we were doing is just driving along in fog on our way to work. The Germans do not believe in slowing down even if the fog is so thick you can't see. Oh well!

I am so thankful this morning- I am not where Cat is, so I guess maybe I can take the pain. I think I will try one of the neck rolls anyway. No need to live in pain if there is a way out.

Trying to get a little house work done, but really do not want to do it. Must force myself.

Okay, Sally it is time to let us hear! Just one line will do it, if that is all you can manage.

Gary, they're calling for it to be 78 here Friday. The poor trees don't know if they should keep their leaves on a while longer or go ahead and drop them. I've already put thick black foam over the AC, and taped it on with Gorilla Tape. I may have to pull it off.

I went to the store "one more time", filled up with gas on the way home. I'm not opening the front door for a week...maybe two. Today was mostly for garlic breadsticks. I love those. They are in the frozen section.

              Everyone have a great day!

:) Hi everyone. Sally and Renee PLEASE check in. I'm still praying for Gabriella but have not seen any info on her for a long time.

Gary you and Cherie need to learn how to relax. I have mastered it. I stay in my pajamas many days and often in the bed. I play Solitaire on the computer while I watch TV.

It is not cold here at all we are in the 80's and only 10 degrees cooler at night. I keep my AC on 77 and that is okay. Lacy shivers if I go lower on the thermostat.

10 years ago my brother Paul died of lung cancer. 31 years ago my father and brother died in a murder/suicide. Only 3 of us children left out of 8. My Mother had to bury 5 of her children. I cannot imagine the pain of losing your child.

It is hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner. I am only going to do stockings this year and put money in them. I no longer enjoy going gift shopping. For David's Mother and sisters probably a gift card I can purchase at the grocery store for a restaurant.

Well time to relax some more and take a nap. Take care all. Jeanie :)

Virginia, I remember seeing a film chip of the Autobahn in Germany. It has no speed limit. It was blowing snow, the road was solid ice, and here comes a guy in a Mercedes, going 100 MPH. He lost control, it spun and flipped a few times, landing on the tires. He got out like nothing happened, totally uninjured. Germans!

Saw the surgeon this afternoon. He does not think resecting the colon to take out the section the gets chronically inflamed is necessarily the way to go. Wants me to see GI guy for both the slowing with the mS and to do colonoscopy to see if slowing may be in part due to stricture from scar tissue after diverticulitis episodes. I have agreed to see him. They will call me to set the appointment.

Another gorgeous day that is reflective of September and not November. About half the leaves are off the trees and the colors are dulling but the Japanese Maples are not yet Crimson as they will be any day now.

Cherie, wishing you the best, and being able to not have any invasive surgery. You have really suffered with this, so whatever the doctors decide is just what you have to do.

Virginia, my pain problems are just due to wear and tear, probably. Since you must have been severely injured--it sounds like a terrible accident you were in--you'll probably find going to your regular doctor or an orthopedist or maybe a physical therapist more useful than experimenting with neck rolls or other aids.

I noticed that the prices on those neck rolls do go from moderately low to skyhigh and have no idea why either!

I was sitting here zapped, and looked, and it's 78. HELLO, IT'S NOVEMBER!!!!

So I had already covered the AC with this dense black foam to keep the cold air out. I just now removed it so I can turn the AC on. That's a bit of an irony. Tried to keep cold out, and now I can't get it in here fast enough! Argh!!!

I went and made a batch of coleslaw to calm myself down.
