We had a blast of snow that melted as soon as it hit the ground. Now the skies are clearing and the temp is on its way down plus we have a 20 mph wind out of the north so its reallllyyyy gonna get cold!

Doc says keep on keeping on.......wants (okay Gary wants) to see if it levels out at least for the holidays I know this seems strange but if my blood pressure its an actual 'regular' number I feel TERRIBLE ah ha so why would I want to feel like that?? So while they mess with the dosage it is really a rollercoaster. Mostly falling asleep in your Cherrios. Plus whatever MS wants, of course. Since that is what caused this anyway.

Okay thanks I feel better now.

Cat, in that VERY FANCY HOTEL, (which is way overpriced) surely you can just pick up the phone and call room service and tell them how you like your turkey and dressing and all the other things that go with it cooked. I seem to remember one Holiday that you had prunes in one of your main dishes. Don't think the dogs want that again. Seriously, I am sorry Tom Cat is not feeling well. I hope they try to improve the food for Thanksgiving.

Cherie, sounds like you are having your usual large meal, just different folks from what I remember. Hope it goes really well for you. Glad David is such a helper.

Peg and Gary, I agree with Howie, keep your darn snow. We don't want it. (at least Howie and I don't). In the 50s here today and suppose to be in the mid 60s tomorrow.

Jeanie, you also keep your 90s. It is for sure I don't want that.

Question for Gary: What is wrong with the russet potatoes? I went to the store, actually 4 grocery stores, about a week ago and the potatoes are ugly. One place they were not large enough to bake and a couple of places they look like they are ready to sprout. There were not any really pretty ones anywhere.

I am going to one of my brothers tomorrow. It will just be the three of us, him, his wife and me. Everyone had plans so that's it, but suits us fine. My sister-in-law is going to get a rotisserie chicken, and she is going to make potato salad and green beans. This is good with me.

My older brother who has been so sick and hospitalized several times was here for awhile Monday night. He lives in South Carolina. He and his wife were on their way to see her daughter who lives another 1 1/2 hours from us. They had dinner with all of us that could make it. All 3 brothers and me were there. We enjoyed being together for a couple of hours.

I hope all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving. I know there are always things to be thankful for, even if sometime we loose sight of that fact. Mostly when the MS is acting up.

Glad to see this post because Peg and Gary really need that snow and shouldn't even think of sharing it, even though they're generous souls.

Gary, I hope you didn't go to your doctor appointment only to find out that the doctor didn't make it to the office on account of the snow. This kind of thing has happened to me.

I try to remember to call first to make sure they're open if the weather looks bad. Making a trip for nothing in bad weather is dreary.

Agate, don't I remember you mentioning a Mini Cooper?

Tomorrow, I will have a Compleats dinner, Chicken and Dressing, with some of my own coleslaw, some garlic bread sticks, and finally break into that gallon of chocolate ice cream I have in the freezer.

The cats will get their usual grated cheese, oven roasted chicken, and Whisker Lickin' treats.

          We will all be thankful!

I didn't know cats like cheese, Howie! Will have to try that!

Virginia, glad you had a nice visit with family, sorry your brother isn't well.

Happy Thanksgiving all! Stay well, everyone! Miss you, Sally!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my forum friends. Even though life is not what we wish it could be, we each have something to be thankful for.

As you know, I am especially thankful for the beautiful gift of our first grandchild this year. We finally got to meet her in person and we are simply delighted. She is the sweetest! They (Tula, Mom, Dad and Dahlia the dog) arrived late Monday night so we have spent the last couple of days just relaxing and enjoying their company. Daughter and DH cooked a turkey and all the fixings today, since they have to leave tomorrow morning to go visit his family too, then head home before the weather gets too hazardous to be traveling with a young baby. Had a few inches of snow at their home today, but more is in the forecast. Here's a pic of our sweet little girl.thanks tula.jpg

Wishing you all peace and happiness this Thanksgiving and always.

It sounds like you got some that came out of storage, or at the end of the storage season you get something that are referred to as process spuds. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them other than they can look funny.

Oh, Joan, you made my morning hearing that you got to meet that precious, little bundle of joy!

                    A happy thanksgiving, indeed!!!

Adorable grandchild you have Joan. I'm a little jealous, but it's not time for me to be a grandparent yet.

                      Have a great Thanksgiving.

I'm happy to report that the snow that was predicted to possibly happen in NW Washington stayed north of me, in Canada. It is cold here, that part of the prediction happened. I'm glad we haven't gotten the weather we had 30 years ago. The city I grew up in got 27" of snow the weekend before Thanksgiving and it lasted until December.

For the areas that get a lot of snow on a regular basis people don't think this is a big deal, but generally the weather in my area is regulated by the inland sea. Its average temp is about 50 degrees F. Snow can happen, but usually doesn't, or, if it happens, it may not last. Snow is more likely to happen in January and February. Any that falls at other times is either welcomed or hated.

I am happy that the snow pack in the mountains is back where we like it. It is what we rely on for water during the warmer months.

My turkey day will be spent at my mom's place, about a mile and a half away. DS3 and I will have to walk there, since the buses don't run on holidays and I no longer drive. I'll use my manual chair like a walker until my legs tell me it's time to sit down and my son can push me the rest of the way.

                          So, has everyone eaten?

As a kid, it was ready about...two. Then you stuff yourself, and stuff some more.

What time was the big Thanksgiving meal served in your family?

Howie, time eating kind of varied in my family growing up, but usually around two...if everyone could make it then. We ate today at 1:00P.M., which was a little early for me, however since I was the guest I certainly was not going to complain about the time.

Gary, thanks for the info on potatoes. It sounds like I am not getting fresh potatoes here. That makes me mad!

Nuthatch, that is absolutely the prettiest little girl. I remember from the last picture how precious she is. So glad they were able to be there and you finally got to meet her.

Cat, hope you got some food you could eat today, and not only eat but actually half way enjoy. Hope you are doing alright and hope that Tom is also. When is the next update on your wound?

Sally, if you are reading, I hope that you were able to enjoy your Thanksgiving.

So proud of myself! I took on the big giant Bully - Time Warner Cable. It was only a small victory, but felt good anyway. Every time I turn around they go up on my bill. I have telephone service, internet, and cable with them. I like the service they provide so I keep putting up with it. My cable is just basic cable, and my internet it not the highest speed I don't think. Anyway they tell me my bill should be over $200.00 per month. I had told them no way, so they said they would lower it to $164.00. The next month I got a bill for $189.00, then I finally got the $164.00 for a month and the next month it went back up to $175.00.

I called and got a contract worker and they make their money by keeping your bill as high as possible. I tried to talk it down again and she kept telling me what ALL I was getting for my money. I asked to speak to someone in their Retention Dept (these are Time Warner employees). She told me there was no point in me talking to them they couldn't do anymore for me than she could. Then she went on to tell me that my bill was going up another $11.00 in another month or so. I again asked to speak to someone in the Retention Dept, and she still did not put me through. Finally, I told her I wanted to speak to someone in the Retention Dept. regardless of what she was saying. So, by doing that I now have my bill down to $158.86 for a year and no $11.00 hike. It was rather satisfying.

Jendie glad your snow did not materialize. We were in the 60s here today and it was a gorgeous day.

Agate, hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

SuzeQ, can't remember where you were going to be. Hope it was nice.

Jeanie, I hope you enjoyed your day and I guess you probably did not take Lacey with you, unless you checked it out before hand.

                            HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!

Edited to add: Renee, how are you feeling? How was Thanksgiving?

:) Andy was going to come here at 12:45. I woke up at 12:12. I quickly dressed and we went to Jim's. Andy had made two kinds of dressing and sweet potato casserole.

We ate about two and I ate too much. I did not take Lacy as I have no phone number for Jamie's brother and I woke too late to do any calling. We left about 4 and went to Jamie's brothers. Her whole family are big cowboy fans and they always play on Thanksgiving at 4.

Jim awhile back put a piece of plywood in the rear of my van to use as a ramp when needed. We used it at Jamie's brother's door. We did not have dessert either place. We came home about 6. Lacy was glad to see us.

I hope all of you had a nice Thanksgiving. I hope Sally and Gabriella come back soon. Jeanie :)

Joan, it's so nice that you've met up with the new addition to your family! A long and happy life to her!

I'm among those not "doing" Thanksgiving in the usual way. I had a frozen meal I've never tried before, and it was good--a bean burrito, really quite tasty. V8 juice on the side. I can do without that rich food. Been there, done that, as they say.

Very glad to have a roof over my head and even electricity, and not to be feeling rotten.
