Virginia, zucchini, milk and cheese--that has to be really good for a person.

I'm guessing that you slice the zucchini as thin as you can?

There's not even any oil or fat involved--unless you grease the pan?

Yes, you slice the zucchini real thin. When you get ready to put them in the oven just lay them on a baking sheet. Actually, I believe it did show one that has the grate that fits over it. You lay them on the grate.
I would not hesitate to put some tin foil on my cookie sheet and cook them on that. Of course they are laid out separately, not all over each other. I think they sound good and so good for you.

I think I'd be tempted to turn these over about 10 or 15 minutes into the cooking time, just to get them crisp on both sides.

The only things that make the zucinni edible is the garlic and cheese..LOL!

Referring to Virginia's recipe in post #426 for barbecued nuts, I made the recipe using half pecans and half walnuts but no peanuts and it turned out very well.
            Thanks, Virginia!

Actually I neglected to watch it carefully enough and some of the nuts around the edges burned but I fished them out and kept the rest.

I nibble on them every day.

The A1 sauce is very good on gardenburgers too, I think.

Agate, glad you like the barbequed nuts. I have done the pecans a couple of times and enjoy them. My book club likes them too. I have taken them to that.

A question for SuzE-Q about the recipe for Nut Mix (post #421). When you add garlic, do you add a fresh minced garlic clove or some garlic powder or maybe garlic salt?

I'm planning to make this soon and wanted not to get the flavoring wrong.

Garlic powder. I find the garlic salt powder too salty.

I use a small bag and add garlic powder, salt, chili powder, onion powder, a little cumin, mix it all together, then either sprinkle it over the moist (with oil, melted butter or cooking oil spray) nut mixture on cooking sheet, mix up the mixture with hands, sprinkle some Worcestershire, mix it up, sprinkle more of spices and a bit more Worcestershire, mix it up again to coat thoroughly.

Or, I'll put the nut mix in a big bag and add melted butter, oil or cooking spray, shake it up, then add some spices mixture, shake it some more, some Worcestershire, shake some more, etc.

Whichever size bag I have available. Spread on cooking sheet, turn mixture partway through cooking while adding a bit more Worcestershire (but not too much, just enough, so most pieces have the brown tinge of having a tiny bit on it!) Sometimes I'll add a bit of parmesan cheese, but that's optional for me, I play around with spice mix depending on what I have, but the Worcestershire is a must.

I'm making this myself tomorrow too, I've just picked up almost all ingredients, except want to include walnuts that I'll pick up tomorrow.

Maybe this should be in an Even Lazier Cooking thread. It's very very lazy.

I've never had much use for prepared (boxed or frozen) macaroni. But I recently tried a boxed version that's downright edible.

It's Annie's macaroni and cheese. The macaroni are quite small, and the flavor is acceptable. Annie's specializes in organic ingredients.

The color turns out to be a bit more orange than I'm used to but for half an hour of top-of-the-stove cooking I get three meals.

The leftovers do well heated up in a double boiler with a bit of milk added.

Agate, Annie's makes a white cheddar version, too, in a less alarming color.

Watching sunsets, Sally, reading, eating Peter's cooking, listening to crickets and the surf.

I plan to swim. The water temperature was 62 today. I couldn't make myself get very far in. Just feet.

I watched a black lab swim far out twice but turn around when his person called. Loving it, wagging his tail. I met a Shiloh Shepard (very big).

The air smells of salt. The seagulls bark. People who know better stretch out in bikinis to get more sun. I wore a sensible tugless tank from LE w a long sleeved rashguard to coordinate. My sunscreen has broad spectrum UV protection and my long sleeve top has UV protection.

And now I realize that this is in the Lazy Cooking thread so I'll add that we had microwaved fresh corn for supper.

Yeah, the Annie's white cheddar is good. I like stouffers frozen Mac and cheese, too. A few minutes in the micro and you have a hot dish of comfort food.

I forgot about Stouffer's frozen macaroni--yes, it's quite edible. I sprinkle a lot of paprika on any macaroni to make it less bland.

I'll definitely try to get Annie's white cheddar--thanks, ANN!

ANN at the beach--but she must have the chocolate with her! It will melt in the sun! Somebody needs to rush in and eat it before that happens!
