I got them all too! Didn't understand some though, like Cat. What is Fidget Pie anyway?

I'd never heard of fidget pie either. Apparently fidget pie is a fairly heavy dish, a meat pie involving ham:

I'd eat it. A small piece though.

Well.....back on the subject of coleslaw. I thought of what I can have to eat. I will go to Whole Foods and get a fresh roasted chicken. The first night I will have it warm with a couple of vegetables from their hot bar. Then I can pull some of it apart, putting in some of the dark meat to keep it from being dry, and pull it into small pieces. Put it in a frying pan with a little vinegar based barbecue to heat it and along with the coleslaw I can put it on a potato bun from Lowes's Foods and then I will have a meal. Maybe if there is any potato salad that looks pretty good, I might have that on the side.

Will try that maybe next week, or this weekend.

Coleslaw is awesome on burgers or buns loaded with meats, cheeses, etc.!

It's also is very high in anti-cancer properties!

I agree, Sally. That's making me hungry!

Well, I contemplated, but decided that why should a lack of microwave prevent me from making this fudge that Virginia raves so much about that it's now become a staple in her diet, when about 95% of the rest of the world owns a microwave?

So, I borrowed a neighbor's microwave, whipped up a batch in about 5 minutes, added pecan pieces, then refrigerated for a couple hours.

I packaged up some squares for a couple gifts, but of course, HAD to sample first, just to ensure it was gift-worthy, you understand.

Well, I needed to check more than one piece, just to ensure consistency . I figured 5 samples should satisfy my perfectionism that it was a good gift to give. Ok, 6 or 7 small pieces, I admit it. Maybe 8.

                  Conclusion? Two thumbs up.

Oh, the recipients of the gifts of the very few pieces remaining raved about it too. They may have thought I was skimping out when there was only 1 piece per person available. But it was VERY important that it was a quality gift to give, I just had to make certain.

Lots of happy chocolate lovers! Thanks, Cat!

Suze, glad you tried it. It is so easy to make. I have had to cut back on it a little because of weight. I think it is nice you can just have the ingredients on hand and make it anytime you want.

Cat owes me some kind of royalty for marketing this for her.

SuzE-Q, it's so nice of you to sample not just one but several. You never know--one piece might be OK but that might have been the only one that was OK. If you sample a few, you get a better sampling.

I'm sure you're sending some to everyone here?

Honestly, if anyone ever wants an inexpensive, easy gift to give that will be really enjoyed by all, this is the gift to give!

Hopefully others though will be much better at cutting nice, even square pieces that look very professional so that so many of them won't have to be rejected and remain in your own fridge like mine did.

If you really are looking to make uniform pieces, set the pan out at room temperature for an hour or so. Use a heavy sharp knife, and wipe it clean after each slice. Or just pile up the rejects. By the way, if you want to fancy this up even further, after you've spread the hot fudge in the pan but before putting it in the refrigerator to cool, you can spread on a topping of coconut. Or more nuts. Or when cool, dust on powdered sugar.

You could all cut those squares any old way, wrap em in wax paper and send them
to room 215 packed in ice a course. Or send me a micro wave. LOL!

Does anyone have any suggestions for an easy snack food--something to serve people? A trail mix or other concoction that isn't fussy to make but isn't just poured from a bag or box?
