I like to watch Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern. Accordint to my kids you have to be able to stand throwing up every 30 seconds if you watch it. There isnt much I would not at least try, besides raw tomatoes and cooked aspergas that is.
I love asparagus and raw tomatoes (separately thank you).
Btw, I don't care for Bizarre Foods and will either watch something else or turn off the t.v.
A fun fruit you should try, Howie: kiwi. Small, round, brown and fuzzy on the outside, emerald green interior with tiny black seeds, which are edible. Peel off the skin with a potato peeler, bite into the whole thing. Or daintily slice, or quarter. Any way, they're yummy.
I love kiwi fruit! Their tan furry skins make them look like hairy eggs but open them up and you fine the inside is a lovely shade of green, and they're not only beautiful when sliced--they're tasty and even good for you.
I like Okra...if its fixed right. My wife's grandmother used to fix it in bacon grease in a cast iron frying pan it was mushy and gross. If its canned its nasty too. Now steamed until its hot with a little butter, salt and pepper it is pretty good.
:) Hi everyone. I slept from midnight until almost noon but I am still sleepy and tired.
I shhop at Publix and they have baking potatoes and sweet potatoes in the produce section in a clear wrapper and you just put in the microwave for 8 minutes. I buy 1/2 ears of corn frozen and stand them on paper towels in the microwave for 8 minutes. Then I buy store brand baby okra frozen andput some in a bowl with a little water and have a vegan dinner.
Andy just visited to do my trash and I am going to take a nap. Jeanie :)
Love Okra in crab gumbo. David doesn't like edamame because it looks too much like lima beans. Nevermind that the taste and texture are totally different. I am not a fan of turnip but other than that, love all veggies.
Regular unwrapped russet potatoes take 5-6 minutes in my micro, after just a quick rinse.
I can't think of any possible way I could prepare, then eat okra. Or grits. Or lima beans. I didn't like cabbage as a kid, but love it now, lightly steamed. And fresh raw spinach. I could be a vegetarian....so long as you hide the steaks....
