This place is a lot like a coffee shop, one where people with MS hang out. The food and beverages may be virtual but they're here.
A good thing this place is here, too, because I don't know of any real coffee shop where I could just chill.
I've heard that these Starbucks places can be like that but there's not one anywhere near here. And anyway you'd need to spend money. Money is something people with MS hear about but don't so often have a lot of.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

You're right Joan. We had lunch at one a few weeks ago and they're WAY overpriced, not to mention the obstacles all over the place.Originally posted by agate View PostI've heard that these Starbucks places can be like that but there's not one anywhere near here. I've heard the name Starbucks, but don't even know if there's one around here. The place I went to was pretty small, but really nice inside. They even used to have an entertainer now and then like a guy with a guitar, no rock stuff. The place sadly isn't there anymore."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Adorable cat stories are a dime a dozen but I couldn't resist this kitten.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

:) I saw Gary's post on Facebook that his BIL died this afternoon of a massive heart attack at age 49.
Yesterday Andy posted a photo of he and Jamie and wrote that some of his friends did not know that they shared the same birthday. Andy was 56 yesterday and Jamie would have been 51. They had 30 years together.
I slept until noon but I am so tired. I have to go to the bathroom about every 2 or 3 hours so I don't get a lot of REM sleep. Also I lay awake for a long time most nights before I sleep. I'm sick of MS right now.
Today the temp was supposed to feel like 108. Needless to say I did not go out. Jeanie :)

Yah, Jeannie it hit 95 here. I tried to swim in my pool at 6:30 a.m. The air was already 80 and pool was 85. I usually swim a mile for 50 minutes. At the 1/4 mile mark, I got out. I started to feel that twinge of imminent spasticity. I learned my lesson last week, and don't want a re run of that again.
Swimming and surfing are my only source of fun. I felt like punching Mr. MS in the nose today for making an entrance.

Good stuff, Cat.Originally posted by Uppitycats View PostTo get philosophical for a moment.....Doesn't everyone want a Cheers in their life....a place where they are welcome, where there are warm greetings, friendly faces, people which miss you when you're not there, wonder about your well-being......indeed, where "....everybody knows your name"?
Doesn't have to be a bar. Could be a church or other place of worship, a coffee shop, bookstore, hamburger joint...just some place where you go regularly, know the folks there, they know you, care about you, care enough about you to be able to know when you're ready for a joke, or need a hug, or need a beer, or a good cry...
Much like this place in cyberworld. But my wish for you all..and for me...that somewhere there's a Cheers in your life...

They don't show any locations "under the sea" or I would have found one for you but you can check it out yourself.Originally posted by Howie View PostI've heard the name Starbucks, but don't even know if there's one around here. I looked you up online and now I do know where you live!
Don't bother going there, it's way overpriced. I'm sure there must be some near you that are more reasonable.

I don't need them, I got my new 12 cup coffee maker yesterday. Maybe I can get the cats to dress up like hippies, and sing some for me. (I also got new ear plugs yesterday)
